Stepping up...

As a pilot who hasn't flown PIC in a number of years, and who really only has time in small tail-draggers and C-150's, what should I be most concerned about when I decide to step-up to flying a Mooney?

Thanks!

Other than the obvious (complex aircraft, more gears, buttons, and levers), the other big thing to watch for is the 10" prop clearance on most models. That's not much room for error if you start porpoising down the runway. When in doubt... go around.

It's not rocket science for sure. There are certainly harder aircraft to fly. However if you're a new pilot, even with a fresh complex & high-performance endorsement, I would recommend flying with another experienced pilot until you are comfortable. There is definitely more to do and the plane is very slippery. It loves to fly and fly fast. Enjoy!
