The measurement will be finished and the result is displayed, when an accurate reading can be assured. It is therefore important to deter- mine your normal temperature range. This is easily done using Braun ThermoScan. Practice taking temperatures on yourself and healthy family members to determine their normal temperature ranges. Cap (IRT 4020) How to use your Braun ThermoScan? 1. To achieve accurate readings, make sure a new, clean lens filter (1) is in place before each measurement. The Braun ThermoScan ear thermometer turns off automatically after 60 seconds of inactivity.Additional lens filters (LF 40) are available at most stores carrying Braun ThermoScan or at Braun Service Centers. If at any time you question the accuracy of measurement, please contact Braun Infoline, phone (see page 2). Manufacturing date is given by the LOT number located in the battery compartment. Also can't prove bought from nz dealer ( as baby gift) and its out of warranty. We offered to pay but they won't touch it (they phoned braun in front of me. Braun refused the fix). Took to docs yesterday. Out 0.8-1degree. What's the point of selling a product you won't fix. Surely you should be able to change the batteries without it becoming inaccurate. While this is now out of manufacturers warranty - in my view this device, which is expected to be of high quality based on the manufacturer and purchase price, is not fit for purpose if it fails after such a small amount of use. The instructions should be in the booklet that came with the thermometer. A short beep should confirm the new setting, then the thermometer will turn off. Anything above 38 degrees required attention. Yesterday my wife had some gastric problems and the 4020 told me 38.5 degrees so the Oncologist had her re-admitted to hospital as chemo was due to re-commence in three days.https://hunam.mx/no-6253-diseno-web Now we are back in hospital and the Oncologist suggested checking it against the hospi. By that I mean if you take a reading and then reset it and take another reading, they are always different by up to half a degree but they are also consistently higher than the hospital thermometers by anything up to a degree. How easy it is to use, how reliable it is. Brings peace of mind knowing the reading is accurate. The instruction booklet has a table with body temperature ranges which is handy to know too. As for the covers, I'm using it on the baby only so there's no need to constantly change them.
