Kristeenie 5.0 out of 5 stars My decision was whether is was worth the extra money to buy the 2016 model. I went with the 2016 and I'm glad I did because (almost) all of my grievances with my BOB single were fixed or improved in the 2016 Duallie. 1. The recline function on my older BOB is made up of two adjustable straps and annoying to use, and the child can't sit completely upright - the 2016 Duallie is an easy button push AND allows for the child to sit almost completely upright 2. The canopy bunches up when closed on the older BOBs and the plastic window gets in the way of the child's headspace - somehow they changed the canopy on the 2016 Duallie and the canopy doesn't bunch up as much.http://www.jfvtransports.com/home/content/i-inc-28-monitor-manual It still has 4 positions- closed, fully extended (which provides complete shade for the child) half open with a peek-a-boo window, and half open without the window. 3. The storage space is lacking in older models - they lowered the storage basket on the 2016 and it's plenty large for 2 kids and can be accessed from the side 4. The brake foot pedal is improved on the 2016 so that it can be pushed both off and on using the bottom of your foot (in other words, it's flip flop friendly!) 5. The rear wheels are easier to pop on and off in the 2016 For me, the recline function was enough to make the 2016 worth the extra money just because it was previously so annoying to me and my toddler has recently started insisting on sitting completely upright to see everything. If you've not used a BOB before, I'll just reiterate that it runs super smooth and turns on a dime. Even with a double, it's so balanced that I can run with just one child and steer with one hand without any pull. However, our use case for a double stroller is mostly for the outdoors, so the smooth ride is the most important concern for us. I think that despite the big wheels, even out shopping the stroller will be a pleasure to use because it can turn easily around aisles. Yes, it's no fun getting it in and out of the car, but that's a few seconds of annoyance for a double stroller that I can push one-handed and be used on all terrain. My decision was whether is was worth the extra money to buy the 2016 model. Yes, it's no fun getting it in and out of the car, but that's a few seconds of annoyance for a double stroller that I can push one-handed and be used on all terrain.Kids were injured along with parents. They held the CPSC off until they knew they could get a favorable settlement to avoid a recall. Up until now, I’ve fully committed to trusting this company with the safety of my kids, but I will have to think hard about my future purchases. Aside from the morals of the company, the product has served me well. It’s a beast to fold, but it has handled everything two kids can throw at it.Here's why: He's actually loves it. The joints for the shade don't open and close smoothly so you almost need two hands to move them. The front isn't as generous but the intention is not for my son to sit on it the entire walk, but when he needs a break. It feels like a nicer quality, and is more manageable size. Side note: it didn't come with a manual which I thought was strange.BEWARE! We loved this stroller until both of the buckle straps broke on us in the same week right after the one year mark. Since the buckle straps broke, this stroller was essentially useless. It was totally unsafe for my children to ride in. I contacted Amazon twice and BOB twice about the issue. Amazon directed me to BOB since the product was a year old. BOB was non-responsive, rude and finally sent me a replacement part. After 3 hours of trying to install the replacement part, we discovered that BOB sent us the wrong part. I am so wildly disappointed in the quality of this product. I spend a ridiculous amount on Amazon each year and I would expect them to stand by a product they sell. I seriously cannot believe this stroller broke after only a year. My friends have had their older model for years, so my guess is that it's because I chose to upgrade to the 2016. What a waste. If you purchase, don't expect any help when the stroller breaks. Mountain-bike style suspension keeps you running smoothly from sidewalk to hiking trail, and ten storage pockets make room for more gear. Adventures are boundless with the Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie, from BOB Gear. Our signature Mountain-Bike-Style Suspension has shocks mounted by the seating area so your little adventurers will feel less bumps along the way and ride happier, longer. One hand recline lays near flat or sits fully upright for all day comfort. Includes 2 zippered pockets at handlebar, 2 mesh seat back pockets and 4 in-seat snack pockets. Miku Baby Monitor Snoo vs. How Many Baby Bottles Do I Need. Do you need a carrier for your toddler. For many moms it is difficult to get back into shape when they have one kid, with two or more children it may even seem impossible. This is a heavy-duty stroller that targets parents who are serious into running. It brings a ton of features that most moms want to see in a jogging stroller from a rock-solid frame, to a rugged 3-wheel design for unusual all-terrain adventures. The general consensus is that double jogging strollers are overly bulky and a pain in the neck when you’re pushing them with two kids, especially on harsh terrain. While this is true with some strollers, expect to push and steer this beast with ease. Stroller Info Verdict BOB Revolution FLEX 3.0 Duallie Check It On Amazon Type: Double Jogging Stroller Weight: 33.1 lbs Capacity: 50 lbs per seat LittleBabyGear Verdict: Upgraded stroller with new, modern look - for sporty parents who love outdoor excursions. Best choice for snow, sand and wooded trails. BOB Revolution FLEX 2.0 Duallie Check It On PishPosh Baby Type: Double Jogging Stroller Weight: 33.1 lbs Capacity: 50 lbs per seat LittleBabyGear Verdict: Perfect choice for parents who want to stay active with their kids or those who plan on losing some weight. Durable and high-quality stroller, but with a bit outdated look. Please read my disclosure for more information. But of course they have little differences and features that could fit you less or more. BOB Revolution FLEX 3.0 Duallie Stroller has lots of awesome features for your and your passengers’ comfort and safety. This double jogger will definitely satisfy active parents and those who are trying to get back into shape. Seats Both strollers offer two seats located side by side, each seat can accommodate a child up to 50 pounds. It sits the riders side by side as opposed to one behind the other, as you’ll find on tandem strollers. The main benefit here is that the stroller operates much more like a single stroller, only that it is a little bit wider. Actually, I also feel that double side-by-side strollers are much easier to navigate and go over curbs thanks to their weight distribution. The Duallie 2.0 was already ultra-padded and I haven’t found any complaints about it, however the Duallie 3.0 has new compression padding which is even deeper. Now it provides children with more comfort which is noticeable especially when you go over rough terrain. The seats also feature water-resistant fabric material that makes cleaning super-easy. Stroller seats wind up getting all sorts of messes from mushed-up banana and grass stains. So, knowing that all you’ll need is soapy, lukewarm water to get it shining again makes a lot of sense. FLEX 3.0 Duallie offers deeper, more comfortable padding on the seats, which is crucial when you’re running on harsh and bumpy terrain. For instance, each of the seats can be reclined and tilted back individually to suit the rider’s comfort needs. This will be a boon if you have two kiddos at different age and one of the kids wants to take a quick nap on the go while the other wants to stay actively involved in the jog. Speaking of recline, the seatback adjusts down to 70 degrees from vertical. Seats cannot be fully reclined which is good, because it would be not safe to run or hike with your little passengers sleeping flat. However, thanks to this recline mechanism you can set the seat back at any position (infinite recline). Reclining the seat is breezy and requires one hand. You only need to squeeze and pull a buckle on the strap on the back of the seat. I like the large and nicely padded leg rest that these 2 seats come with. They also have quite a large footrest to match. Unfortunately, the FLEX Duallie 3.0 doesn’t come with an adjustable leg rest, the previous model didn’t have it either. BOB Revolution FLEX Duallie 3.0 and 2.0 have infinite recline (you can stop it at any angle), however it’s not fully flat. The main seat can be used when the child can sit unassisted and has good neck and head control The seats on this jogging stroller have a weight capacity rating of 50 lbs and feature a 5-point harness. Otherwise, it’s vital that you wait till the baby has strong neck muscles and excellent head control before putting him directly on the stroller seat. Lastly, there is one thing I really didn’t like: a strap between seat bottom and leg rest because it is made of rougher fabric than the seat or leg rest itself and it could potentially cause discomfort for babies because it can rub on their sensitive skin. Of course I’m not sure this will definitely happen, but if you consider this model you should be aware of that. But keep in mind that most side-to-side strollers, including this model, only accommodate one car seat. This means that if you have (or are expecting) twins, you’ll need to wait till they can use the stroller seat without the need for a car seat. Keep in mind that you’ll need to purchase the car seat adapter separately. Age recommendation According to the manufacturer BOB FLEX is suitable from 8 weeks. However, even with a comfortable infant car seat, I always recommend against jogging with infants this young as their neck muscles aren’t strong enough to support the head firmly amidst all the jolts and bounces. You can use the stroller for walks then. In my opinion you should only jog with a stroller when your children can sit unassisted and hold their head up (around 6-8 months). Parents should run only with children who have developed neck and head control. I think it is more safe that way. Of course you can do whatever you want, this is only my opinion. ?? Remember to consult with your pediatrician whether your baby is ready for this activity. Canopies The canopy has always been one of my favorite features with BOB jogging strollers. The FLEX 2.0 Duallie had two massive canopies that offered unbeatable coverage from the sun and elements to the young riders. The BOB Revolution FLEX 3.0 uses similar shades only that they are a little bit larger now. This newer model now boasts canopies that cover the babies up to their knees (when the canopies are fully open). I imagine this will offer an incredible amount of coverage, especially when the sunbeams seem to come right at you from the front. Each canopy offers 2 large panels. When the weather allows, you can fold the canopy fully for maximum sight-seeing. When the sun is directly overhead, you can open the canopy with one panel only. This way it blocks the sun without obstructing the riders’ view at the front. However, FLEX 3.0 Duallie in all color versions have reflective straps on canopies You can also pull down the second panel, and fully extend the canopy. It goes almost all the way to the knees for maximum protection and privacy. This will be more useful when the passenger is having a nap though, as it tends to block the view, especially when the child is sitting upright. Even when the canopy is fully extended, it’s very unlikely that there will be heat buildup inside considering the overhead space available. Even better, each seat has a vented top that offers an excellent airflow when the seat is fully reclined. When it gets overly windy, this mesh can be easily closed with a cover. Besides minimizing your baby’s exposure to harmful ultraviolet rays by over 98, this material is water-resistant too. You’ll find this very helpful in case the rain starts falling while you are jogging. It won’t replace your stroller rain shield, but at least it will keep the water from penetrating before you successfully install the cover. Each canopy has a peek-a-boo window on top that offers you a quick-second view of the baby while you are strolling. A departure from the previous stroller that uses a Velcro closure, the new FLEX 3.0 Duallie uses a magnetic closure. This not only makes stealing glances on the baby fast, but it also means that you can forget about that annoying sound that Velcro makes when it’s ripped apart. Finally the brand replaced that noisy Velcro with magnets The viewing window is positioned at the top of the canopy so that you can spy on your little one regardless of how far is the canopy extended. When in the recline position, the mesh at the back of the seat also offers another way of checking on your riders. Handlebar Similar to the previous version, I like that the FLEX Duallie 3.0 has an adjustable handlebar. Unfortunately, this stroller still uses the rotating height adjustment mechanism that the Duallie 2.0 uses. While it still fulfills its purpose, I feel that a telescoping handle makes things much easier for me. This is a personal opinion, though, and I would never use it to shoot down the BOB Revolution 3.0. The new stroller brought a slight change in the lower and upper height limits. While the FLEX 2.0 Duallie adjusted from 33.5? up to 50.5?, the latest release now moves from 34.5? up to 48?. The difference is minuscule, and I highly doubt that it will negatively affect the overall comfort in any way. This handlebar offers 9 settings across the height range, so it should be straightforward for petite as well as tall parents to find a comfortable position. The handlebar also boasts nice padding not mainly for aesthetics, but also to shield your arms from vibrations. Wheels FLEX 3.0 Duallie, similar to the previous model (2.0) has large wheels with air-filled tires. For greater stability on bumpy terrain you can lock the front wheel, but for the better maneuverability on flat terrain and in narrow places you should leave it swiveling The type and size of wheels are undeniably the most important considerations when it comes to choosing a jogging stroller. BOB FLEX Duallie 3.0 and 2.0 have wheels made of high impact polymer. These wheels set BOB apart from much of the competition. But first things first. This stroller has a 3-wheel design with 2 larger wheels at the back measuring 16.You can set the front wheel in two positions. Swiveling wheel makes the stroller more maneuverable and very easy to navigate. This option is the best for smoother but crowded or narrow surfaces. You can also lock forward the front wheel to increase the stability. It is the best for jogging or walking on rough surfaces like bumpy unbeaten terrain. The wheels are really awesome and they won’t let you down on the sand, mud or snow. I’ve read in other parents reviews that some of them have taken it even to the sandy beaches and it hasn’t gotten stuck. I should mention that the tires are pneumatic (air-filled) too. The benefits here are obvious. Compared to foam-filled tires, these are going to offer a smoother ride with fewer shakes and bumps. They will also provide incredible traction when jogging over loose, uneven surfaces besides acting as shock absorbers. BOB proves that even double side-by-side stroller can be easy to push and very maneuverable. This model operates easily even on dirt or wooded trails and easily takes even tight corners. Pivoting and lockable front wheel Modern suspension system The Revolution FLEX Duallie 3.0 uses BOB’s patented 2-position suspension system. This is the same bike-like shock absorption system that BOB has been using for its jogging strollers for quite some time now. Hands down, this is one of the best features that I found with the previous model, and it’s good news that the newer model was fitted with it too. This is a unique suspension system with a release button that allows you to adjust its position depending on the riders’ weight. As such, the stroller literally grows with the kids ensuring that they get smoother rides throughout their stroller age. BOB Flex Duallie 3.0 has adjustable suspension system, the same that FLEX Duallie 2.0 had Thanks to it your baby won’t get bumped around, even during riding on harsh terrain. With this stroller you can go over cracked sidewalks, cobbled streets, dirt and unbeaten roads, wooded trails and gravel, literally any type of terrain. Moreover, thanks to so smooth and cushioned ride your children are protected from spinal diseases. The brake is actuated using a flip-flop-friendly pedal. Besides eliminating the need of ever bending over to unlock the wheels, the best part about this brake pedal is that you can engage and disengage it using any type of shoe. There is virtually no risk of hurting the top of your foot when deactivating the brakes, as it’s usually the case with other strollers. I should mention that this stroller’s brake system is mainly for parking, for instance, when you stop to catch a breath or have a drink while jogging. This offers you more control over the speed of the stroller, thereby making it much safer for you and the baby. Having this strap around your wrist when jogging restricts you from getting your hands off the handlebar, which could easily lead to accidents. The strap also has a lock that you’ll be using to lock the stroller when it’s folded (unfortunately it doesn’t have automatic lock). Thanks to this safety strap you can be sure that the stroller and your little passengers won’t run away from you. The strap has also a lock which you need to use to keep the stroller in closed position. The wrist strap is attached to the handlebar. Storage space If you are anything like me and tend to pack the whole house when strolling with 2 kids, then you probably know the importance of having lots of storage space on a stroller. This is one of the reasons why I love BOB strollers, by the way. The Revolution FLEX 2.0 Duallie had 2 interior seat pockets and a large seatback pocket on each seat, and a huge cargo basket underneath both seats. The Duallie 3.0 now brings more space and features a total of 10 storage pockets: 4 pockets inside the seats (2 for each seat), 2 zippered pockets on the flap on the back of the stroller and 4 mesh pockets on the backrest (2 for each seat). The pockets on the back offer a lot of space for personal items, including keys, wallet, cell phones, and even a bottle of water. Here you can compare the storage space that both strollers offer. When I was going for a jog with Haley I always packed a half of the house, in case we would need ANYTHING or EVERYTHING. And now when we run with our three kids I pack literally the whole house so I really know how important it is to have a spacious basket. ?? One minor issue that I found here was that the new mesh pocket sewn at the back was a little bit hard to access with the seat reclined. Again, I’ve never understood why BOB jogging strollers don’t come with a parent tray or organizer as a standard. Reaching for a bottle of water to the back pocket can be difficult and not very safe because you can easily trip up. If you want a cup holder you will need to purchase a handlebar parent console which is has two cup holders. Fortunately they are placed in a safe distance from your precious cargo. If you have more flexible budget, go for it. FLEX 3.0 Duallie has 2 additional zippered pockets on the flap behind the canopies. Honestly, this is very normal for a double stroller, especially a heavy-duty model that is made purposely for jogging with 2 passengers on board and with all their necessary stuff. The frame is made of durable, strong material. BOB Revolution Flex double stroller weighs 33.1 lbs. It is a heavy duty stroller, it has to be strong to accommodate two passengers. Keep in mind, that it can hold up to 100 lbs and it’s suitable for older toddlers or even preschoolers. In my opinion, the stroller weight is adequate for what it offers. Even with my petite size, I haven’t had any issues handling them, however lifting it to the car trunk requires some strength and may be a bit difficult at the beginning. I can’t deny that some parents may find it quite heavy, but you’ll get used to it. Nevertheless, after the twin delivery I would recommend you to ask someone to help you with carrying and lifting it. The whole stroller is 30.5” wide. Although it’s not tiny, you shouldn’t have problems fitting it through standard doorways and elevators. Something else that I like about this stroller is that the rear wheels are in line with the passengers’ seats. So, if the seats fit, it’s very like that the wheels will go through smoothly too. BOB Revolution FLEX 3.0 Duallie has the same fold dimensions as the FLEX 2.0 Duallie (30.5? x 17.5? x 40?) Like every other BOB model (double and single), this one has also two-step folding which allows you to transport or storage the stroller in your car trunk. As almost every jogger and double stroller this one also is quite big even when folded. Its folded dimensions are: 30.5” x 17.5” x 40”. BOB Revolution FLEX Duallie Stroller may be difficult to store in a small car trunk. It is definitely easier to fit it in a car trunk of SUV style hatchback, than trunk in a sedan (it may fit in lengthwise, but not in height). There is also an option to remove the rear wheels if you need to save more space during transportation and storage. Probably you won’t mind folding and putting it to the car trunk when you want to jog in a wooded trails couple miles from your home few times a week, but I guess it would be annoying to take it in and out of your car 3 or 4 times a day, if you would like to go for a shopping or meet your best friend for lunch and run some errands. Besides, it will be definitely difficult to travel with this stroller in public transportation. It could annoy other passengers as it is quite long and takes up a lot of space. This stroller is for sure very maneuverable but also large and it will be hard to navigate through shop alleys without bumping into some stands. But remember, this stroller is designed for running and strolling on toughest terrain. If you are looking for heavy duty stroller for city use, you may want to look into smaller, all-terrain strollers like Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double. Color versions This is yet another area where the new stroller received a significant change compared to the previous model. What is noteworthy, now the frame is all black, not silver, and in my opinion this gives the stroller more up-to-date, trendy look. Unlike with the previous stroller that used plain colors, the FLEX 3.0 Duallie now uses a combination of 2 colors from BOB’s most popular hues to offer you 4 choices: Graphite Black, Glacier Blue, Sedona Orange, and Lunar Black. All versions have reflective strips on the canopy and basket for added safety when jogging on the road. Additionally, the Lunar model has only reflective straps, but also its fabric (on the canopy and basket) glows in the dark. As for a jogging stroller, BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie offers pretty wide range of colors. See all options in the picture below or click here to go to Amazon and compare their prices. Keep in mind that now some of the colors may not be available, or are available only at selected retailers and of course the price may very for each version. By clicking here you can check all available color versions and see if there are any discounts available right now. There is a lot of extra gear that you can purchase separately though. Accessories are the same for the old and latest model. Great thing is that it doesn’t block children view. Warranty The frame has a five-year limited warranty and other components and fabric have one-year warranty. You can read more about the warranty on BOB’s official website.
