Kilowatt 1.0 out of 5 stars This cutting device is in no way similar to the original. I successfully got 2 haircuts out of this one.The original had two cross shaped blades which were self sharpening when run in reverse mode. My old one averaged 3 cents per hair cut. I'll stick to the comfort of cutting my hair with my weedeater as it is far more gentle.Used it for about 20 years until I dropped it and it broke. Tried to repair without success because this product, the older model, was wonderful. I reordered this brand because I was hoping to get the same. They changed this to extremely cheap blades, which don't cut. My hair, although not long, only gets tangled into them. What a tremendous difference.I used it once it pulled my hair out I tossed it in the trash where it belongs. Also the Hose has also been cheapened up and cracked in two places just setting it up. Sad because I have 3 of the original blades. I am now searching for the Original Robo cut that I had for 16 years. The one shown in the photos is the older higher quality product that I used for 20 years before it finally broke. The one I received from this seller is the newer version that lasts a year if you're lucky. The difference is the cutting blade.http://drddvichitra.com/userfiles/boss-fv-50h-manual.xml The photos show the old high-quality version, but the product I received is the newer version with a flimsy wire spiral that pushes hair against a ring of flimsy cutting teeth, not the old version that scissored hair between strong metal pieces. It is a new model and doesn't have a real blade. It has a flimsy spiral that is supposed to push the hair to the edge where there is cutting teeth. Absolutely doesn't work. If you have had the older model with the real cutting blade and loved it like I did you will be vastly disappointed in this. The first one worked pretty well for a while, but then it didn’t. But I liked the way it worked well enough that I ordered another. Second one got stuck or something after one minute or so of use. Design needs improvement. I haven’t tried to return it yet, but I expect to, soon. So, assuming that there is no problem with the return, and I am sure that that will be the case, the effect is that of lending money at zero interest.None of this ever happened with the older model. Had it for 20 years. We recommend that you do not solely rely on the information presented and that you always read labels, warnings, and directions before using or consuming a product. Jenny5309 5.0 out of 5 stars My husband and I hemmed and hawed at actually greasing it up to use considering it was so expensive and once used, unreturnable. We were (I was) also wary about the noise level as my son was just diagnosed with autism spectrum and HATES to have his head touched with a comb, let alone a buzzing robo-blade. But when we finally bit the bullet and I hugged my son close (to keep his hands out of the way) I was pleasantly surprised at how painless it was. We turned the volume on the TV way up and while my son still freaked, it was much more controllable than the last visit at the kids barber, which was close to being torturous for both me and my son - we both left with higher blood pressure than when we arrived. The robocut was loud, but not as loud as our vacuum (an inexpensive Bissell) and it took a total of 5 minutes, which made the product SO worth the price. I definitely recommend it for its efficiency and with 2 boys and 3 haircuts each it will have paid itself off!I was always curious as to how something like this would work. I think it was in the '70s when the Flowbee came out. Back then my hair was longer and easier to cut. Now it's shorter and not as easy. The hardest part was cutting the top and back. It was always difficult to keep a uniformed length and having it look right. With this, that has now become the easiest part. It is all very uniform and looks great. Then I use the taper attachment to make it taper to about an inch and an eighth just above the ears. I like it to go over my ears a little and this gets me in the ballpark. I still use my trimcomb and sissors to do a little extra trimming around the ears and to cut it across the back but this thing works awesome. Make sure you put the oil that they give you on the outer ring of the blades. When I first stated using it I was just putting the oil on the blades and the center part and it wasn't running right. I just put a drop or two on that outer ring and the inner shaft and it works just fine. Don't know how I ever got along without it!!It has made grooming so much easier, faster, and cleaner since the hair is vacuumed away. It is loud, which takes time for a puppy to get used to, but no more scissor cutting makes us both happy.Using the tips and suggestions in the user manual has always given me a great even haircut, and this product and it has always performed as I have expected. I have so far never had any problems with this product.I am on my 4th Robocut. I love these things. I use them 4 or 5 years then pass them on when I get a new one. My hair is always the same length. No more barbers to get mad at for screwing up my hair. My wife trims around my ears and the back. Even though we have saved a lot of money with them, I use them because I like the results. If your barber is having a bad day or leans to the left today and next month to the right, well you know what happens. I got tired of it and these things solved that problem for me. They are simple to use and very consistent. I highly recommend them. Richard McCauleyWouldn't cut my hair. I have super fine hair as well, and it was only about 2 inches long when I got this thing. Tried it first with the hair dry, and then thought maybe it'd cut wet hair easier, so I hopped in the shower, towel dried it, made sure it was dry enough that no water was going to go into the thing (it says you can cut wet hair, just that it shouldn't be dripping wet), and tried again. Still no dice. I had to go over each spot about 10 times until it was all reasonably cut, and even then, the result was that there were still a good amount of hair that was the original length. The vacuum sucked fine -- the hair got pulled into the blades no problem. The blades just wouldn't cut. And I did make sure to oil them well before using it, as the instructions emphasized that you need to do that. I was hoping this would do a more thorough job of evenly cutting my hair than my old electric clippers, but I guess I'll go back to those. I might give the Flowbee a try as well.We recommend that you do not solely rely on the information presented and that you always read labels, warnings, and directions before using or consuming a product. In this work, we propose a method that exploits a dual-arm robot setup to actively control the shape of a flexible, heated rod as it cuts through the material. While this setting offers great freedom of shape, using it effectively requires concurrent reasoning about three tightly coupled sub-problems: 1) modeling the way in which the shape of the rod and the surface it sweeps are governed by the robot's motions; 2) approximating a target shape through a sequence of surfaces swept by the equilibrium shape of an elastic rod; and 3) generating collision-free motion trajectories that lead the robot to create desired sweeps with the deformable tool. We present a computational framework for robotic hot wire cutting that addresses all three sub-problems in a unified manner. We evaluate our approach on a set of simulated results and physical artefacts generated with our robotic fabrication system. Comparable to using clippers, a Flowbee haircut is easy and simple. And because this vacuum hair cutter comes with no mess, the Flowbee offers a low-maintenance DIY haircut system that could be right for some men. To help you decide, we’ve put together a comprehensive review of the Flowbee Haircutting System. In fact, this vacuum-based haircutting system works well consistently, will cut your hair without issues in 5 minutes, and won’t leave trimmings anywhere for clean up. Because it functions by connecting to a vacuum cleaner, the device relies on this suction to collect hair as it cuts. The build is sturdy, the cutting head is comfortable to hold, and hose is long enough for convenient handling. However, the truth is that this vacuum hair cutting system is only worth it for certain types of men. If you’re looking to get the best haircut, visit a traditional barbershop. If you still want to save money on haircuts, invest in good cordless clippers and learn how to fade your hair. Great for The Entire. Save Hundreds of Dollars in Haircuts The “spacers” are the equivalent of guards or combs for a traditional hair clipper. You attach them to the head of the Flowbee and this determines the length of your haircut. Most guys use one spacer to cut their hair the same length all over the head. However, the different spacer sizes do allow you to taper the sides and back to create a short sides, long top hairstyle. This allows men to cut a number of classic and modern haircut styles. The vacuum needs to be 3 HP or 8 AMPs to effectively pull the hair through the cutting blades. Otherwise, the Flowbee is compatible with most vacuum brands and models. Great for The Entire. Save Hundreds of Dollars in Haircuts The system will naturally layer your hair, and the attachments can accommodate hair lengths up to six inches. Cutting thick or curly hair is possible, but if you have tight curls or your vacuum isn’t strong enough, it can make the process more tedious. In reality, you may want to get those hair trimmers just to clean up your neckline, sideburns, and around your ears. Plus, it saves you the time and effort of going to the barbershop. In 5 to 10 minutes, you’ll have finished your cut. After that, your haircuts are basically free. The Robocut is a competitor, if you can call it that, with bad reviews and a low-quality build. It just feels cheap and, with the number of one-star reviews on Amazon calling it junk, the Robocut doesn’t even warrant your consideration. Simply put, the machine works. And although it can’t get you all the hottest hair trends of the year, the Flowbee Haircutting System was made specifically for men who need a normal haircut. Ultimately, we’re confident you’ll love this product and find it worth the money. Great for The Entire. Save Hundreds of Dollars in Haircuts Looking to learn more about pomade.
