Both VW's boast a potent 228-hp turbocharged four-cylinder that mates to either an engaging manual transmission or a quicker-shifting automatic. The sedan's aesthetic is more sedated than its hot-hatch sibling, but at least it sells at a discounted price, as the GLI costs thousands less than the GTI. Still, these two Vee-Dubs are equally entertaining whether they're looping racetracks or racing down back roads—which made it an easy choice for our 10Best and Editor's Choice lists. Simply put, the 2021 Jetta GLI is compact-sedan greatness. What's New for 2021. Apart from a small increase in price for both trim levels, the Jetta GLI enters the 2021 model year without any significant alterations. Pricing and Which One to Buy Even though it costs a bit more, the Autobahn model is the best representation of the Jetta GLI. In addition to exclusive features such as adaptive dampers and wireless charging, every Autobahn has an enhanced audio system, fully digital gauge cluster, larger touchscreen, leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats. All that equipment really improves the sedan's appeal, and none of it is available on the base model. Engine, Transmission, and Performance The GLI shares its engine with the Golf GTI: a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is optional. Regardless of transmission, acceleration is significantly improved compared with the standard Jetta's 147-hp engine.http://ndt-tl.ru/upload/car-seat-chicco-keyfit-30-manual.xml

In our testing, the automatic was slightly quicker to 60 mph. The stick-shift version was easy to row; our only complaint with the automatic was its hesistance to downshift during spirited cornering. Speaking of corners, the GLI's specially tuned suspension and sticky summer tires (a no-cost option) proved this Jetta is just as athletic as its hatchback equivalent. In fact, the sedan actually outran both the Golf R and GTI at our most recent Lightning Lap —thanks largely to its upgraded rubber. Likewise, the Jetta GLI provides feelsome steering, strong brakes, and a compliant ride whether it's on the standard shocks or the adaptive dampers that are reserved for the top-tier Autobahn model. The standard six-speed manual transmission is estimated to earn 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. Models equipped with the optional seven-speed automatic can expect to see 25 mpg city and 32 mpg highway, according to the EPA. We tested a GLI with each gearbox on our 200-mile fuel-economy test route and both achieved an impressive 36 mpg on the highway. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo While the GLI has the same basic roomy cabin as the standard Jetta, a few bits of red trim spice things up somewhat. Even the base S model has features such customizable ambient interior lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and passive entry with push-button start. The snazzier Autobahn version adds a 10.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a power-adjustable driver's seat, panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats. The sportiest Jetta is also more spacious than its hatchback counterpart, with about two inches of extra legroom in the back seat. Likewise, the compact sedan has a massive trunk that managed to hold more carry-on bags (seven total) than the five we fit behind the Golf's rear seat. The Autobahn model gets the larger screen along with a 400-watt, eight-speaker BeatsAudio sound system and wireless charging.http://eaglescripts.com/userfiles/fair-strike-manual.xml Safety and Driver-Assistance Features The Jetta GLI earned a five-star crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ( NHTSA ), but only the regular VW Jetta has been evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety ( IIHS ). While the GLI doesn't have all the modern driver-assistance technology, it does boast more standard equipment than direct rivals. Key safety features include: Standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking Standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert Warranty and Maintenance Coverage Volkswagen has an above-average limited warranty and below-average powertrain coverage. To offset the latter, the company provides some complimentary maintenance. Limited warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles Powertrain warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles Complimentary maintenance is covered for two years or 20,000 miles. The available Performance Monitor relays performance information like multi-directional G-forces, boost pressure, and engine power usage. Striking red calipers help the performance brakes stand out. Not that you’ll need any help standing out. The progressive variable-ratio steering system provides a quick response to driver input at higher speeds while making driving easier at lower speeds. Now the only variable you have to think about is which route you want to take home. Driving Mode Selection allows you to change the way your car performs. You have the power to adjust the drive and how the car responds on the road. Design Overview A presence, even when parked. Similarly, the driving dynamics continue to be refined and athletic. Other strong points include excellent interior space, good overall comfort, and reasonable pricing. While all the Jetta models have good driving manners, the sporty GLI has excellent power and driver involvement. Traditionally, its resale values have trailed those of the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Subaru Impreza, and Mazda3. But the 2021 Jetta responds well, balancing good handling agility with the smooth ride quality of a European marque. Stick-shift aficionados will be pleased with its easy and precise action. Alternatively, the 8-speed automatic transmission works well, shifting smoothly when you’d expect and kicking down eagerly whenever you need a shot of quick acceleration. The GLI is quick and nimble, yet perfectly fine for everyday use. The GLI’s strong brakes come straight from the high-performance Golf R, which has been discontinued. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters is optional. The Autobahn is the only Jetta GLI with adaptive suspension; it has an impressive range between comfort and sport. Lower trims use a 6.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, while higher ones have an 8-inch unit. The next three trim levels get simulated leather while the top SEL Premium gets the real thing.Rear legroom nearly matches that of the Toyota Camry, and the Jetta’s trunk is only slightly smaller than that of Toyota’s midsize sedan.Nevertheless, we think it’s a handsome design that will wear the years well Both this trim and SEL Premium have fog lights, while R-Line is the point where 17-inch alloy wheels come on board. It sits lower than its siblings by half an inch, plus it has 18-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, and an eye-catching red stripe across its grille. You can have your nav screen appear directly in front of you, and let the screen in the center stack stay dedicated to the audio system. It constantly adjusts the compression and rebound rates of the shock absorbers to help the Jetta adapt to various road conditions and meet the desired needs of the driver. It works great, and the driving modes range from cushy soft to sporty firm. The GLI Autobahn also is available with a cosmetic Black Package. With either transmission, you’ll get 40 mpg on the highway. Even better, the 1.4, though turbocharged, runs just fine on regular 87-octane gasoline. The GLI S employs a 6-speed manual transmission as standard; a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic is optional. Pros Fun to drive! Cons Nothing. I'm 69 years old. Owned a lot of so called muscle cars in my life. Handles better than all of them. On top of that gets 2-3 times better gas mileage. I have the best of both worlds. And the price is right also.My first Jetta was S trim (manual) 2017 but gave that to my son a week after I purchased it. This year I need a new car to replace my old car. I didn’t want a SUV. Sedans are cheaper to own and maintain. The things I love about this 2021 Jetta SEL: It has a great powerful engine (1.4L turbo) and rides smooth. It uses regular gas. So far, I have average 36 mpg and I commute 50 miles a day to and from work. The JETTA GLI would be better since it has the 2.0L Turbo and rear independent suspension but the price tag is way up there. The moonroof is nice and adds that luxury feel. The digital cockpit looks cool and actually functions well. The power seats and lumbar support is a plus. Heat seats and steering wheel is great and “a must have” in Colorado. Rear heat seat is nice too. I like the Sedan as it looks good but would much prefer the wagon version which they don’t sell in USA. Things I dislike about the Jetta SEL: the radio sometimes does not work. Adaptive cruise control occasionally stops working. This is the main reason for getting the SEL over the SE or R-Line trim. However, I don’t mind it turning off when shifting gear into park or waiting at stop light. One big missing Feature this car doesn’t have is “Auto Hold!” My other cars have it but this one does not. Auto Hold is great for when you come to stop light and not have to press the brake pedal the whole time you’re stopped. But really it does not actually correct your position by auto steering the car back into the center of the lane. I was expecting “Lane Assist to actually keep the car in the center of the lane by auto correcting itself. This is a huge disappointment in VW when other manufactures offer better driver assistances. If I had known this at the time of purchase then I might have considered another car. VW gives you 5 years free “Car Net” access but then after that you have to pay a prescription but I think it should be free for life of owning the vehicle. And another thing is that the SEL trim does not have fog light. I don’t use it much in my other car but when it’s snowing or foggy outside then it would be nice to have it. Overall; I must say this car is a good purchase for your money. Lots of tech for the money. This feature, standard in every new VW, applies the brakes to stop the stricken vehicle from becoming a projectile after a subsequent impact. It includes forward-collision mitigation with autonomous emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. It’s controlled via buttons on the steering wheel. The GLI is powered by Volkswagen’s 2.0L turbocharged and direct-injection TSI four-cylinder, making 228 hp (on premium fuel) and 258 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a standard six-speed manual transmission, with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic available. The GLI features an independent sport suspension, with a strut-type setup at the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear. The brakes are shared with the GTI and Golf R, using 13.4-inch diameter vented front discs. Like the GTI, the GLI is fitted with Volkswagen’s VAQ electronically controlled, torque-sensing limited-slip differential that helps to eliminate understeer, as well as variable ratio electric steering. Like the base Jetta, the GLI will receive an interior and exterior facelift for 2022. All rights reserved.
