TonyInMontreal 3.0 out of 5 stars Beginners need to keep a positive mind set to avoid these. The author does not do enough to reinforce this and concentrates mostly on the negative. In my many years of inducing OBEs, I've never encountered highly negative entities due to my early positive influences and books. I certainly never had a sword fight with any as the author has. There is valuable insight and experience in this book, but IMO beginners should stay away until they are practiced in keeping their mindset positive. Negative entities can not harm you, they can only scare you IF YOU let them. It's a thought-responsive multiverse we are in - so think positive and enjoy.http://www.gewidor.de/uploads/electric-circuits-8th-edition-nilsson-riedel-solutions-manual.xml

Any negativity while OBEing can be dissipated by reinforcing your own positivity (raising your frequency) and projecting that towards the negativity. Then turn away from it and your mind will dissipate your fears. When you get right down to it, negative entities and situations during OBEing are manifested by you, your fears and imagination. This book is an account of the author's experiences and how she got through them. She was very fortunate to start with friends at an early age and still enjoys OBEing today. Her sense of humour is amazing and makes this a very entertaining and easy read.Usually these entities are a manifestation of fears and in the astral plane, your thoughts become reality. Now there are negative entities out there but it takes a lot of low vibration energy for you to actually meet one, most of what you will face are your own fears manifest. This is an otherwise good book but readers should be aware that positivity is key for a enlightening experience and any negative situations you deal with you can face to clear your fears.Like William Buhlman's books, it describes how the author learned to astral project and many of her experiences while actually in an OBE state. However, where this book really shines is in its' design as a how-to manual, and its' descriptions of what worked and (maybe more importantly) what didn't work. Are you wondering whether it would be more effective to try to astral project in bed at night or during a daytime nap. The author covers that. And what about all those scary sounds - the buzzing, the whining, the voices? Ditto. And folks, there is an ENTIRE CHAPTER on separation from your body - the point at which most wanna-be astral travelers fail. If you are serious about having an out of body experience, this book will be a valuable tool in helping you be successful.I've even joined his CGC program for 3 years, which was worth it.http://www.epilationchateauguay.com//fckeditor/uploads/electric-circuits-8th-edition---solutions-manual---nilsson-riedel.xml I was always interested in astral projection and lucid dreaming and have had quite a few of the latter in the past. I've never astral projected though. So, there's a lot of work for me to do to get where I need to be to start projecting. I believe she's done it before and quite a bit. I also started reading Far Journeys by Robert Monroe and I have to say there is a deep chasm between what Monroe describes vs.Monroe seems to say that a vast majority of these astral entities are positive and helpful beings while on the other hand, Erin seems to talk a lot about the negative entities and how to protect yourself against them. I'd love for Erin to write a book on her astral adventures alone and that would be a book worth reading. All in all, a good book with practical steps to take to get into an astral space. I have yet to prove this myself, but I'm working on it now and I will update this review if it works and I'm traveling all over the universe and to other dimensions. I know they exist, I just have to get to them.Reading this book I have had the opposite experience. It is well-organized, well-written, and comprehensive. Not a hint of superiority on the part of the author -- she writes as an invitation to join her (metaphorically) as an astral traveler. It's an accessible and supportive. I'd like to share that I happened upon this book by chance. I hadn't realized that Erin Pavlina had written a book, but went to her website as part of a renewal of my interest in pursuing my personal development. I did this in part because ( although I have never met her) I had occasion to come to trust Erin. It was a genuine surprise and welcome support to get the call from my sister. And it informed my feeling of trust in the author. It helped that I could read the first chapter for free on Erin's website - it gave me a sense of her writing style and confirmed my interest in what she had to say. I'd recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn more about astral-projection. It's great guide.:)I sincerely doubt if she has ever projected at all. The book is so shallow in comparison. I bought this on recommendation, within 15 minutes of reading, it was in the bin. Avoid, avoid avoid. I would happily recommend Phase Revolution's youtube channel for some excellent advice. When you have personally projected, its fairly easy to see bad advice. What is has done is inspired me to write my own book to help others, so at least it wasnt all that bad.I am not a reader but have always been interested in this and I've been able to Astral Project since I was 14. This book describes Astral travel down to a T. I can to relate to every bit of it so far!As a skeptic, its certainly compelling. Unlike many testimonies that make it seem like a heavenly experience of bliss that only initiates of the highest order can achieve, Erin makes it seem achievable and almost tangible. Almost. This book reads like someone telling you about the ghosts they see in their house, you really want to think its true, but could so easily be made up. There is never any way of truly believing this stuff without doing it yourself. Regardless, an enjoyable, relatable read and really motivating to try out the guidance in the book. Great!Step by step experiences revealed!:-) I feel it's suitable for total beginners drawn to this book as well as experienced individuals too. Erin gives detailed accounts of her experiences in a step-by-step way. Though the more advanced might find a few bits quite repetitive with regards to general protection and the baddies etc.Wonderful stuff!! Recommended. However, if you’re looking for more substance and insight into the astral world - or perhaps wants to astral travel for spiritual enlightenment. This book isn’t for you. Have you had a terrifying out of body encounter that left you fearful of ever exploring astral projection. Whether you are a novice or an experienced astral traveler, the Astral Projection Guidebook will teach you how to master astral projection safely and effectively. She mastered astral projection at a young age, has projected more than a thousand times, and is a recognized authority on astral travel and the paranormal. I had decided to do my project on dreams and their interpretations. My teacher warned me it wasn’t a very scientific topic, but I would not be dissuaded. We were required to read at least three books on our subject, but when I got to my local library, I found eleven books I wanted to read on this subject. For me, it wasn’t just a school project, it was a subject that fascinated me completely. I checked out and read those eleven books cover to cover. From studying my books, I learned all about dreams, how to interpret them, and how they were tied to our sleep cycle. But in the process I also learned about two other phenomena I had never heard of before: lucid dreaming and astral projection. I was intrigued. Lucid dreaming is when the dreamer becomes aware that he is dreaming while he is still dreaming. That sounded super awesome to me. I wanted to learn how to master lucid dreaming very badly. The second item, astral projection, sounded like a fairytale. It was described in my books as an out of body experience, where people reported leaving their bodies and traveling on another plane, while fully aware and NOT asleep. I really didn’t think such a thing was possible, but I was curious nonetheless. I decided to start with lucid dreaming. It took me about three months of study, effort, and experimentation before I had my first lucid dream. After that, I learned how to control my dreams and even program the dream I wanted to have in advance. More on lucid dreaming later, but it was an important first step for me to eventually learn how to astral project. Once I was well-versed in lucid dreaming, I decided to try having an out of body experience. This was not nearly as simple as learning lucid dreaming. I really had no reference experience for it, and didn’t even know what I was shooting for. The books at the time were quite vague on how to achieve one, they mainly described what it felt like once it happened. Getting to the place where I could initiate an astral experience was elusive. I tried meditating. I would lie in my bed, breathe deeply, quiet my mind, and imagine I was outside of my bedroom. Nothing. Although I could easily and vividly imagine myself somewhere else, I wasn’t actually there. I was simply inside my imagination. Then I tried mentally projecting myself to my ceiling so I could look down on my body. Nothing. Again, I could easily imagine it and visualize it, but I never escaped my body, I only escaped my mind. I reasoned that if I could just know what it felt like to fly around outside my body, then maybe my real soul could really leave my body. I had success dreaming that I was flying, but that wasn’t astral projection. I couldn’t even mimic projection in a dream because I hadn’t experienced it in real life, so I had nothing on which to base my programming. I tried looking for real people who had real success but found none. I read everything I could find on astral projection, which wasn’t much back then in the 1980s. With no friends who had ever done this, no Internet, and getting all my information from books in a library, I was very limited in my reach. I worked on this for three years with zero success. I was frustrated. I decided that astral projection was a fantasy and people didn’t really leave their bodies consciously. I gave up on ever learning the skill. I stopped trying completely. My First Astral Projection I started tenth grade in 1984. By this point, I was fantastic at lucid dreaming but had given up on astral projection. When I started my new school, I met two people who would become my closest friends, and who would become integral in my study and mastery of astral projection. The first was a girl I met in Spanish class, and we clicked and hit it off as friends instantly. We had the same sense of humor, and were a little bit out there compared to our peers. To protect her identity, let’s call her Ashley. From day one, we bonded like sisters and slipped into a very easy and close friendship. The second person I met was a boy. Let’s call him Jared. I was crushing hard on Jared, and the beauty was, he was just as out there as Ashley and I were, maybe even more so. He was into the occult and liked studying the paranormal. It wasn’t long before the three of us would put our heads together and be discussing all manner of crazy arcane things. It was so nice to finally have people to talk to who understood me and accepted me for who I was. It allowed me to open up more to my own internal intuitive abilities, and explore unusual things without fear of judgment. I was so grateful for Ashley and Jared’s presence in my life. Some of the things we played at were telepathy, dream sharing, and a fun game where we tried to get someone to look up at us on telepathic command. Neither of them had ever astral projected, so they were also a dead end to me in terms of having an expert to learn from. That was all right though. I didn’t really care at this point; I was having fun with everything else we were doing. But everything changed on January 7, 1985. That was the night my 15-year-old self finally experienced astral projection. It was unlike anything I’d ever experienced before or could even imagine. I went to bed like usual. In the middle of the night I woke up in my bed, on my back, and felt an intense tingling sensation throughout my entire body. It was like someone had attached electrodes to me and current was passing through my body. It wasn’t painful, but it was intense and extremely unsettling. The next thing I noticed was that I could see my room, but could also feel that my eyes were closed. I thought that was particularly unusual. How could I clearly see my room, in the dark, yet my eyes were closed. Next I became aware of the presence of three other beings in the room with me. If I had to physically locate them, I’d say they were up near the ceiling to my left. Their presence was distinct and palpable. I didn’t have much time to consider who they might be, what they wanted, or whether they were friend or foe, but their presence was unmistakable. Next there was a high-pitched whining sound in my head. I can only describe it as the sound of acceleration. Kind of like the sound a jet airplane makes as it’s speeding down a runway getting ready to take off into the sky. A fairly apt analogy as I was soon to discover. To my absolute horror, I then started feeling my self being pulled slowly out of my body. It felt like someone had grabbed hold of my soul and was dragging it out of my body. It was not a comfortable sensation whatsoever. It didn’t feel natural, normal or healthy in any way, shape or form. I was so terrified that I tried to scream, only no sound came out of me, nor did I have any control over my mouth. I was trying to resist being pulled, and I felt like I was choking. Then one of the beings in the room spoke to me in my mind. It said, Breathe through your nose, it will be easier. So I concentrated on my nose and started breathing through it, only that had the opposite effect I was hoping it would have. I started getting pulled out much faster. I went back to trying to scream, again to no avail. But my resistance and strong desire to get back into my body where it was safe did have the effect of merging me back in with my body. Just when I thought the experience was over, the tugging started again. Something was pulling me out of my body. I did not want to go. For what seemed liked several minutes, this tug of war was happening with them pulling me out and I pulling myself back in. Finally I heard one of the beings say, This isn’t going to work. She’s too frightened. Another responded with, She’s got to learn one way or another. The original voice said to me, It’s okay, just let it happen. I responded mentally with, Nope. Not interested. Forget I ever wanted to learn this stuff. I’m over it. Just please let me back into my body and I’ll be a good girl. Eventually, I made it fully into my body and got control of it once again. As soon as I could, I sat up and turned on my light. I sat there with my knees drawn up to my chest, shaking a little from the trauma. What does one do when one has just had their soul assaulted. There was no hotline I could think of to call. I didn’t want to wake my parents. I knew they’d think I was nuts. I wasn’t so sure I wasn’t! I stayed awake until morning and got ready for school. I was completely haunted by the experience and preoccupied with what had happened. When I got to school, I ran into Jared in the parking lot. He gave me a quick hug and said, So I tried to contact you telepathically last night while you were asleep, but I guess nothing happened. I looked at him in shock and burst into tears. I thought maybe he had opened a door that I didn’t really want open and without even warning me. I was upset. I told him about my experience, and he told me that a demon was trying to possess me. I’m going to insert right here and now that he was wrong, it was not remotely a demon trying to possess me, but at the time, and with no experience or experts in sight, I believed him, which was unfortunate because it put me in a place of deep fear. The Road to Mastery The door was open. I now knew what it felt like to be separate from my body, at least a little. I would wake up, feel the tingling sensation, hear the high-pitched whine, and start moving out of my body. I would scream, resist, fight back, and get back in, only to be tugged out again. I must have looked like a banshee at the end of the week. I had gotten very little sleep and I probably looked like I’d been dragged through hell. That’s certainly what it felt like. Although I assumed each experience was an attack, I did notice that the three presences in my room didn’t seem evil. Spirit tough love, as it were. I eventually realized they weren’t going to give up. Jared promised he would find a way to protect me, and Ashley got me a crystal to use as a talisman. They were both as supportive as they could be, but they couldn’t prevent the nighttime experiences. After the first week, the experiences died down a bit. They happened maybe once per week. I was finally getting some sleep, and things were returning mostly to normal. Ashley and Jared were researching as much as they could, and we were trying different things to get a handle on it all. Finally, Ashley hooked me up with a friend she met through work who was a couple of years older than us. Let’s call him Sam. Sam was an experienced astral projector and someone I could talk to who wouldn’t think I was nuts. I remember the first two-hour conversation we had. He really set my mind at ease. Sam explained that the reason the experience was so terrifying was because I was You've reached the end of this preview. Sign up to read more. Rate as 1 out of 5, I didn't like it at all. And here Erin Pavlina emphasizes brilliantly the importance of practice. As we all came from the same source, we all are imperishable consciousness that already pre-existed before the physical birth. She reports several benefits of this natural ability of projections out of the body since the time of too many different cultures such Egyptians, Tibetans, Hindus, Shamans etc. And she assure that determination and will are the only requirement to achieve success. Is it worthwhile to pursue the astral world and neglect the physical world? Before that I only knew the phony version as depicted in movies and computer games. For me astral exploration was a natural extension of lucid dreaming, although the two experiences are quite different. I learned both from Erin, who’s an accomplished lucid dreamer and astral traveler. She even wrote a novel based on her astral experiences, although it’s never been published. I also learned about astral projection from a few books, one of which was Far Journeys by Robert Monroe. If you’ve never had an astral experience yourself, I doubt you’d be able to believe what he’s written. In some ways it’s like having a dream, but I don’t think any experienced astral traveler would confuse astral projection with a regular dream. During an astral projection, I’m conscious and aware. I know who I am, and I know my physical body is lying in bed. I know what day of the week it is and what I ate for dinner that night. That makes it similar to lucid dreaming because I have access to all my conscious memories; however, the astral realms have a very different feel to them than my regular dream worlds do. But when I’m astral, I feel like I’m actually visiting another semi-physical dimension that’s just as real as the physical universe. It simply has a different vibrational feel to it, a unique energy signature. Astral matter feels very different than normal matter, as if it’s less solid and more energetic, so when astral traveling you can float through walls and other seemingly solid objects. Even your astral body is more energy than matter. There are persistent locations in the astral realms as well as persistent beings who inhabit them. These locations evolve independently, so I notice changes with each visit. Most of the time I’m astral, I feel I’m only a few degrees away from the physical world. Often I find myself in a place that closely resembles the physical world, such as an ethereal version of my own bedroom. But other times I’ve been to some pretty dark places inhabited by beings that I can only describe as pure evil. I have never known such an intense, uncontrollable feeling of sheer terror in my life as when I had certain astral experiences. My wife is skilled at dealing with dark beings, but so far I haven’t had any luck manifesting astral swords, guard dogs, or higher frequency beings for protection. Whenever I encounter something scary in the astral realms, I usually react like Shaggy running away from a ghost in Scooby Doo. Every time I’ve tried to stand and fight, I’ve failed miserably. Usually it just happens at night, often within the first 20 minutes of going to sleep. There are other astral dimensions we can visit (consciously or unconsciously), and they’re populated. I expect that when we physically die, our consciousness ends up in one of these astral realms. The astral planes make interesting training grounds for controlling your thoughts. With practice I find that my thoughts manifest more readily in the astral realms. In the denser physical universe, thoughts flow through matter like thick sludge through a clogged pipe, so it takes longer for intentions to manifest here. Ultimately I think these different universes follow essentially the same physical laws. The unique vibrational frequency of each realm determines the apparent solidity of its matter and the speed at which it can be influenced by pure thought. Since I normally astral project at night, it doesn’t steal any time from my waking world. Nor does lucid dreaming for that matter. However, I will say that astral projection has broadened my perspective about the physical universe and made me more curious about what else is out there. It also reduced my fear of death and my attachment to physical universe outcomes, since I can see that there’s plenty more that exists beyond the physical plane. I think this is one reason that my growth efforts today are largely aimed at developing my consciousness, since that’s the only thing I can take with me from one realm to another. For one, I’d like to learn how to confront one of those dark entities without running for dear life. Fortunately, Erin already possesses this skill, so at least I have someone to model. But I don’t astral project frequently enough to get much practice. I typically have a conscious astral experience once every 1-3 months. In less than 12 minutes, she’ll explain how to have your first lucid dream. See the original Ask Steve post for details, or view the Archives (July 2006) to peruse the entire series. But there’s actually more to Erin than these. For one thing, she is also into astral projection. This is based on the premise that the body simply houses the soul, which means it is possible for these two to separate. According to the concept, a person’s consciousness goes with the astral body when it projects, and does not stay with the physical body, which will then be left like an empty shell although it is still alive and functioning. This shell will remain connected to your astral body by a silver cord. When this silver cord is severed, the person automatically dies. Erin believes that this is, in fact, what really happens in death. In many cases, these experiences occur when a person encounters trauma or is under surgery. As a result, the person usually does not have any control over it and how long it lasts. Since they are real and are not products of your imagination, you will still not be able to control them. You are also not sleeping; you are simply leaving your body, but you are awake and conscious the whole time. There are practically no limits as to what you can do during astral projection. In Erin’s case, these included: These include. By Chris Hammond - take our free lucid dreaming course. But is astral projection for real or could it be a form of lucid dreaming? For lucid dreamers, it bears striking resemblances with internally generated wake induced lucid dreams (WILDs). As a skepticital sort and a seasoned lucid dreamer, I have a unique perspective. Sometimes it was clear I was floating in a dream bedroom, in a completely different location to where I went to sleep. Other times I felt it was absolutely for real (even if it was difficult to see much) and I was aware of being in my own room. You may feel paralyzed. You are aware of lying in bed, yet there are some funny sensations going on. Your mind shuts off awareness from your physical body. As long as you are awake, and your body falls asleep, you will naturally transfer your awareness to a more flexible replica body; a dream body. Or you could call it your lucid dream body. It's all about perspective. But I'm quite sure this is not a real body.
