Front left and right speakers (FL and FR) The front speakers are used for the main source sound plus effect sounds. Place these spea kers at an equal distance from the ideal listeni ng position. The distance of each speaker from each side of the vid eo monitor should be the same. Center speaker (C) The center speaker is for the center channel sounds (dialog, v ocals, etc.). If for some reason it is not practi cal to use a center speaker, you ca n do without it. Best results, howe ver, are obtained with the full system. Surround left and righ t speaker s (SL and SR) The surround speakers are used fo r effect and surround sounds. Subwoofer (SW) The use of a subwoofer with a built-in ampl ifier, such as the Y amaha Activ e Servo Pr ocessing Subw oofer System, is effecti ve not only for rein forcing bass frequencies from any or all channels, b ut al so for hig h fidelity sound reproduction of the LFE (low -frequenc y effect) channel included in Dolby Digital a nd DTS sources. The position of the subwoofer is not so critical, because lo w bass sounds are not highly directiona l. But it is better to place the subwoofer near the front spe akers. T urn it slightly to ward the center of the r oom to reduce wa ll reflections.Connect red plugs to the right jacks and white pl ugs to the left jacks.
