It is at the apex of the Longchen Nyingtik corpus of literature, presenting the essential Dzogchen yogas in pith instruction. The Longchen Nyingtik is based firmly in Longchen Rabjampa’s vision, a massive, vast and profound Dzogchen vision written down as the Seven Treasuries, which in turn were based intimately upon the tantras of the Nyingma Gyubum, the treasure house of Dzogchen. The translation was made for the benefit of students who have received transmission and oral instructions from a teacher and need clarification and elucidation from an authoritative literary source. It is meant for yogins and yoginis, adepts and practitioners. It may not be finally authoritative, but grounded in the wisdom of the old Dzogchen lamas who were wise before they came out of Tibet, as the fruit of a lifetime’s listening, studying and contemplation it may be of some use to people who are committed to the Dzogchen yogi ethos. The urban yogis who have no connection with the traditional teaching may also appreciate access to its precepts. Most significantly, in my mind, this translation stresses the nondual aspect of Dzogchen, the radical aspect that is overlooked by conventional Buddhist Vajrayanists. The translation attempts, wherever possible, to clarify instruction, resolve ambiguities, and turn abstruse Tibetan nuance and allusion into comprehensible English prose.http://www.soojuspilt.ee/files/deutz-engine-manuals-download.xml

Sometimes that is not possible because of an absence of English equivalents of Tibetan terms or metaphors, sometimes because of the density or obscurity of the Tibetan meaning, sometimes because an arbitrary meaning has been lost in the recent attenuation of the tradition. Nor is it a literal translation where every word is accounted for and every instance of a particular word translated by the same English equivalent. Rigzin Jigme Lingpa, the eighteenth century mystic-scholar who composed the Longchen Nyingthig was an incarnation of Longchenpa in the most significant sense of the expression and his Longchen Nyingtik became the seed, root and branch of a Dzogchen revival that reverberates around the entire world at the beginning of the twenty-first century.ContentsIntroduction i-lvThe Yeshe Lama Prologue 1Part OneChapter One: Basic Training 9Chapter Two: Fruition in Breakthrough Nonmeditation 27Chapter Three: Fruition in Leapover Methods 41Part TwoChapter Four: The Four Bardos 101Part ThreeChapter Five: The Fields of Natural Emanation 147Appendixes1. And only the person them self can possibly know how to do it.http://pls.com.ng/fckeditor/editor/filemanager/connectors/php/userfiles/deutz-engine-manuals-free.xml After all this is that spiritual path we are talking about here, the one and same that millions of people do not see any value to at all, let alone Buddhist, or Dzogchen teachings. That bag would become so hard from all the contact with the butter, so it would not be ever softened ever again by application of any more butter. The highest risk that people coming in contact with Dzogchen and liberating Vajrayana teachings is not using these to liberate. Then there is a storm wave of voices about accurate, bad, good whatever translation that this one is or not. Well when your 40 years of study and contemplation result in your translation of a Yeshe Lama, then it will be possible to compare. Until then, we got this. And yes in the west and in US we do not have a strong Buddhist tradition at all, it all is very new and very much uncertain. So, one hears people very actively attempting to discourage others in taking their path seriously. May this review and most of all the book about which I managed to talk very little, be of liberating benefit to all. In addition there are two more translations of the same text that can be considered: Highest Wisdom: A Guidebook to The Stages of Path of the Primal Guardian According to Longchen Nyingtig Great Completion by Jigmey Lingpa, translated by Tony Duff And, Yeshe Lama By Vidyadhara Jigmed Lingpa Translation by Lama Chonam and Sangye Khandro -Light of Berotsana We are alive in very fortunate times! It’s difficult to imagine a more likely candidate. After a month of savoring this very readable translation of Jingme Lingpa’s Dzogchen Atiyoga Manual, returning to it remains as refreshing an experience as reading it for the first time. This is a “radical” Dzogchen, but the translator explains his reasons for making it available (see page vi.).http://www.raumboerse-luzern.ch/mieten/boss-loop-pedal-instruction-manual Although it bears the translator’s warning that it’s one of the so called secret teachings, for those who accept the concept of self-secret and who have experience in the practice of Buddhist meditation, it will likely prove supremely rewarding. If not, it should be put aside for a later reading done under the guidance of mentor or guru. This probably isn’t where you want to start if it’s your first foray into Buddhism. In a fine introduction the translator poetically sings the praises of Yeshe Lama and places it in historical perspective: It’s relatively new, written only three hundred years ago. That’s not far back in a 2500 plus year Buddhist tradition. It’s a manual, it’s “lamrim”, and must be practiced, drilled with until its second nature, like a soldier’s skills. But now if it is to survive, it must survive outside the Tibetan traditions, and after all it is a direct path of breakthrough and crossing over to our natural state in an act of spontaneous liberation. The translator warns; don’t mistake the finger that points towards the moon as the moon itself (page xii.). That’s why it’s now being made directly available without the filter of lama. It’s universal. You are being given the keys to the palace. Nothing omitted, nothing for future revelation. Read and wonder. Good luck. You must read all his introductions! Rigzin Jigme Lingpa, the eighteenth century mystic-scholar who composed the Longchen Nyingthig was an incarnation of Longchenpa in the most significant sense of the expression and his Longchen Nyingtik became the seed, root and branch of a Dzogchen revival that reverberates around the entire world at the beginning of the twenty-first century. All of this is done with Dowman's usual direct and incisive style. This Dzogchen is a genuine existential realization in the here and now that transcends all religion, including Buddhism and Bon, Islam and Christianity. And I agree, the Yeshe Lama, as sublime as the subject may be, is just a book full of words, communicating concepts - and a very Tibetan one at that. The actual reality of Dzogchen is something completely different. This isn't to imply that this book isn't valuable, but to just keep it in perspective - its just a book (and only intended for people who are already engaged in the practice). The verbal (and nonverbal) teachings handed down directly from master to student are WAY more essential, even when they are based verbatim on this text. This is what Dowman is offering us here - the reminder that Dzogchen is something to be known experientially, and that this text is perhaps the best available supplemental comprehensive reference to this experience. For those who have had the opportunity to receive and practice these teachings, and appreciate Dowman's radical approach to the dzogchen as well as his meticulous style of translating its root texts, this new work will be a clear, authoritative and sublime treat, and marks yet another milestone in the awakening of dzogchen in the West. What Dowman does best though is to make Dzogchen relevant here and now (thus radical) - independent of the cultural baggage that time and place inevitably bring. Amen to that! The translation is as great as the Text. This work is pure Gold for the Dzogchen urban Yogi! Everyone is tired of your flawed translations. There are many different levels of practice designed to match the different capacities and levels of preparedness of practitioners. While many practices have objectives which are considered to be only steps towards enlightenment, Dzogchen has enlightenment as its immediate goal. The Yeshe Lama is considered to be one the most efficacious instruction manuals within Dzogchen for experiencing of the nature of one's own mind through the practices of Trekcho (Breakthrough) and Togal (Leapover). This book by Keith Dowman is the latest translation into English of this time honored work. There are a number of different factors that could be used to distinguish this translation from the others. Some are the accuracy, understandability and poetic nature of the translation as well as quality and usefulness of the translator's commentary. I feel Mr. Dowman does very well indeed with all these. However, in this instance there is one single factor that dwarfs all the others: Availability. The other translations will be unavailable to you if you can not produce evidence of having received empowerment and authorization to read the text by an authentic lama. As Tibetan Buddhism penetrates more and more deeply into the west (providing enlightening new techniques to ameliorate suffering), it is inevitable that a clash of the two cultures will happen. The feudal nature of Tibetan Buddhism might possibly be conducive to the continuation of that religion or even Tibetan culture itself, I do not know. However, it can present a distinct obstruction to people who wish to recognize their own buddha natures (the nature of their minds). Neither knowledge of the nature of mind nor its direct experience can or should be owned or controlled by any individual or group of individuals. By Keith Dowman's open publishing of the Yeshe Lama an important step has been made towards bringing to the general population the wisdom of enlightenment that Tibet has to offer humanity. I feel intense satisfaction because this has been done; perhaps I have longed to see such a thing for many many years. I must finish with a disclaimer for those who are unfamiliar with the teachings in Dzogchen on the attainment of enlightenment. Getting glimpses of the nature of one's own mind is like catching rain falling from the sky. Putting out empty buckets to catch the falling of uncertain rain can not be effective with certitude. There can be no direct cause of the experiencing of the nature of mind. Nonetheless, in the same way that empty buckets are useful in gathering rainwater, I feel that the general availability of the Yeshe Lama will do much to help people discover their own mind. I couldn't connect with his other books as well as the ones mentioned above. His 9 video talks on Radical Dzogchen to a Portuguese group, available for free on Vimeo are my favorite Dzogchen teachings since I first became interested in Dzogchen in 1990. These videos contain very potent teaching!! Not just in what he says, but in the patience and kindness he shows to the students. He shows no ego that I could see and keeps it light. I don't have access to a teacher so I owe Mr. Dowman so much for actually helping me abide for short periods in Pure Presence. That is true kindness. To me he is a real Bodhisattva. I've always wonder about the content of Yeshe Lama. It has in fact been an obstacle in my practice. After buying it and reading it I realize you must have a teacher to understand most of it. I don't need The Yeshe Lama Teaching. I CAN FINALLY REST! If you are lucky enough to have a Vajara Master teach you the text and how to practice it, good for you. If you dont have such a teacher, just get an introduction to the nature of mind and learn just sitting practice. If you practice recognizing the nature of your own mind as often as you canwithout letting up, you are going to be alright. Just stick to this wonderful practice and consider yourself very fortunate. This book is very important to some I'm sure. But what is most important is recognizing the nature of mind in whatever arises after being introduced to minds essence. That is all Dzogchen practice consists of. Thank you Mr. Dowman for helping me with your powerful teachings ( free on Vimeo), for all your wonderful translations, and finally helping me remove the fetter of wondering for years what the heck is in the Yeshe Lama. If you asked me who my favorite Dzogchen teacher is I would say Keith Dowman because he doesn't try to show you how great he is but he just tries to illuminate the light of what you already have. He doesn't spend anytime critizing others. I just love the guy for decreasing my suffering. I just love him.!! As for the people who criticizes him, after you guys know your own minds essence it won't matter. You'll just have a light take it or leave it attitude without the need to put down anyone. Even though you need a teacher to fully understand this book, there is much you can learn from it on your own. Thus if one were to locate a book such as this, it be pretty important to align your practice in a way so that you benefit from it. May this review and most of all the book about which I managed to talk very little, be of liberating benefit to all! I am glad that a friend sent me a PDF copy of the translation made by Lama Sonam and Sangye Khandro. That is clear and beautiful and in straight simple language. It is a gross fault of Keith Dowman to have indulged in presenting such an arrogant translation of one of the most precious texts od Dzogchen. He used to be more respectuous of the Dharma in general and of the great masters and teachers he had so far translated. You have to learn the material in person and get the right initiations.
