Before using the dispenser please read the operating manual carefully and follow the safety instructions.! Turn downwards to increase the volume, turn upwards to decrease the volume. 3. Dispensing procedure a) For safety make sure that the discharge tube does not point at the user or any other person. By using the built-in FIX adapter it is possible to fit the dispenser as required. Remove stopper cap by holding the discharge tube tight with other hand.Do not touch the piston itself to avoid any unlikely contact with chemicals. The piston stops at the volume set. The graduation on the glass cylinder is an additional optical control of the volume set or air-bubbles. There is no graduation on the PTFE-cylinder of the HF 16 d) The models BASIC and SOLVENT work by gravity. To dispense liquid let the piston go; it will fall by its own weight. Do not press by hand. The models SAFETY, SAFETY S and HF are equipped with a special piston seal. To dispense liquid push the piston down to the zero-position using the finger guard.! The stopper cap of the discharge tube may never come into the dosing jet, in order to avoid dangerous squirting.With the models SAFETY, SAFETY S and HF with special seal the piston must be pushed down manually. Therefore chemicals may remain in the dispensing cylinder. To avoid unintentional dispensing, stopper cap must be placed on the discharge tube after every use. Before sterilisation loosen screw of the volume setting system. The dispensing piston has to be cooled down to room temperature (after approx. 2 hours) before reassembling. (2) The dispensing piston of the SOLVENT can remain in the cylinder during the sterilization. (3) Please clean with appropiate cleaning solutions or ultrasound. Sterilisation of SAFETY, SAFETY S and HF OPTIFIX dispensers will put excessive stress on the dispensers both thermally and mechanically. As a consequence sterilisation of OPTIFIX dispensers will invalidate the warranty offered on the dispensers. VII. Transport and Storage 1.! When moving the dispenser never carry by the finger guard but always by the PTFE- valve block to avoid unintentional dispensing of liquid. Replace the stopper cap before transporting and fix the volume setting system at the zero-position. 2. Please transport and store the dispenser only in the original box to avoid damage. Maintenance and Cleaning 1. To guarantee trouble-free use for many years it is necessary to clean the dispenser regularly. If there is any sign of a potential malfunction (e.g. piston is difficult to move) never use force. Immediate cleaning should be carried out. 2. Do not leave the dispenser empty without cleaning to avoid clogging the valve balls. If this does happen soak the dispenser for some hours in cold water or clean it using ultrasound. Once the piston can be moved, dismantle and remove any residual impurities by cleaning with a normal solution. Disassembly of the Dispenser: a) Remove the intake tube.Please note: When mounting the SOLVENT Dispenser the glass piston has to be screwed into the glass cylinder carefully otherwise the piston and cylinder can get jammed. IX. Repair Service 1. All OPTIFIX dispensers are made from highest quality materials and are almost maintenance-free and reliable. If a repair should be necessary, it must be done by the manufacturer or an authorized service station. Before returning the dispenser please do not forget to register it with the manufacturer in advance. Make sure that it is perfectly cleaned to avoid any contamination. The manufacturer is not responsible for any damages or problems caused by transport or improper handling. All claims must be reported to the supplier. After a warranty repair the warranty period will not be extended. This warranty is not transferrable and void if repairs are carried out by unauthorized service stations 19 Description of the malfunction Air bubbles in the dispensing cylinder The dispensed volume is too low.
