Chesed 5.0 out of 5 stars When it turned really cold a few days ago we finally had reason to light it and as every other Dyna Flo heater we have had in the past, it worked perfectly. Everyone should have knee and a can of kerosene oh hand in case of power failures. Our precious knee was a life saver when we had a killer ice storm a few years ago.http://artbynela.com/uploads/cooling-tower-manual-cti.xml

mwe were without power for 4 days and we couldn't have stayed at home without the heater,I found that if you blow on the igniter while trying to light, seems to help immensely. Other than that it works fine. Not sure if the factory installs wicks that are not designed to last long. But, having to replace the wick after less than 2 months of use is ridiculous. Must be how the factory cuts corners to save money. It works pretty well, and doesn't use up space in the middle of the floor, which is nice. The removable tank is handy too, though I wish it was about twice the size so I could fill it every 24 hours instead of every 12. --Edit-- Ok so, the issue with the wick not staying up got worse and worse, until I couldn't even touch the knob without the wick trying to fall all the way down. I took the heater apart, and discovered that the culprit was the return spring on the knob being wound too tightly. I pulled the hook off one side and let all of the tension spring out of it, then rewrapped it only one turn on the shaft and re-hooked it. That seems to have fixed the problem FOR NOW. I am changing my review to 1-star. I shouldn't have to fix an item that is only 2 weeks old. --End Edit-- The only problem I've had is, sometimes when trying to turn the flame down really low, the wick adjuster wants to snap down like it does when you push the extinguish button. It will stay with a little fiddling, but it's kind of a pain. My biggest worry is that it will get worse as the ratcheting mechanism wears (I've only been using the heater for a week at the time of this writing). I guess if it becomes a problem, I'll come back and change the review. It has an awful smell that will not go away. We have done the dry burn and followed the directions to the letter to alleviate the smell and nothing works. I am so glad we bought it to only use in a 12 x 12 shed and not in the home. Besides the smell, you can forget about getting any heat from it.https://www.email-ch.com/download/coolit-eco-r120-manual.xml It was bad that we went out an bought a new heater, which is not dyna glo it is a dura heat. Again we followed the directions to the letter and guess what it's working like a charm, no problem with the wick adjustment and no smell and plenty of heat.We had one just like it for many many years and it finally went out. I think it only needed a wick, but we decided since we had it for a while we would just purchase a new one. This heater works great and can warm a modest house well. It is one of the safer heaters that we have used especially due to having small children around. I am looking forward to enjoying many years with this heater as I have with the previous one.I am a single woman had this thing up and running in like 10 minutes. After I filled it up with A-1 white Kerosene and I let it sit for one hour with the wick down and soaking. No smoke if you do it right. Light at once let the whole thing light up and get red then adjust it. If it wasn’t for that heater I would’ve been very very cold.It does take about 30 minutes for it to reach optimal heating and depending on how well the area is insulated it can take upto two hours to get you comfortable. I also love the fact that it has removable kerosene tank that you can take to your 5 gal reservoir to pump Kero in it rather than move the heater or the 5gal tank. Hope that helpsWhen I push the ignitor switch it just pushes up the front of the burner and nothing more. No glow, no wik visible with the knob the knob turned all the way clockwise. Just sits there smelling keroseney. It would be a super pain to to send back so i, bad vision or no, I'm going to have to tear it down and rebuild to see if I can salvage it. Don't get this one, it is a piece of garbage. In order to navigate out of this carousel please use your heading shortcut key to navigate to the next or previous heading. Each time, the replacement wick is almost perfect. I say almost since it isn't as thick as the original one was, which means the sleeve that slides over the draft tube tends to tilt to the right a couple of degrees when under the tension of the height adjustment mechanism. This makes the left side of the wick higher than the right. This means a lot of trial and error; partial assembly, measure, disassemble, re-position wick, repeat until the proper height is achieved. Once installed, it works great. The only other issue is where the wick is stitched together causes a slightly higher flame than the rest of the wick, which is an unavoidable situation. Adjusting the height until the yellow flame goes away at that spot means the rest of the wick is slightly lower than optimal. The replacement igniter is easy to change.
