Or have friends that like booze. Or are throwing a party. Or just a casual read, there's lots of interesting booze history inside. Amazing book, this edition rocks, too. So many cocktails, so little time. (I'm skipping the gin section though)This version nicely updates our old version. The old version is great for classic cocktails. This version offers us some new mixes that have been fun to try. I love that the format is very similar in both versions. There's a reason demand for this book has inspired its many updates and longevity - you won't find a finer book on drinks anywhere.http://quintadasluzes.com/userfiles/canopen-user-manual.xml

An excellent collection of proven and time tested recipes - it also includes wonderful sections on bartending, techniques, and the proper tools. When you have this book at hand, there's little that you'll NOT be able to do behind the bar. Perhaps most impressively, it's written in a tone of respect and honor for the profession, passing along the very high standards of what a truly professional bartender needs to be. Highly recommended.Helped so much with my bartending careerSe ordena ademas alfabeticamente y separados por su ingrediente principal. Esta en ingles. Mud Man 4.0 out of 5 stars In the older edition, all the recipes are organized alphabetically by title. A cross-reference in the back ties liquor to drink. Quite frankly, many of the formulas in the old one were different only by the ratios of ingredients. This version has many updated formulations. It organizes the drinks by liquors, with handy colored thumb tabs to identify each section. Drink variants are now listed together, with a wider range of ingredients, and a short description of their sources. It also has many color pictures of the drinks. This newer version is more useful and provides more resource for the budding mixologist. We decided to whip up a batch of the original mixture, but had to wade through many shortcut recipes containing mixes or juices. I remembered that I used to have one of of these little red Mr. Boston books, as did my Dad, and just knew it would contain the information we needed. Unfortunately, we were not near home, and managed to dig up the earliest original version, and assembled our ingredients. They turned out to be delicious, and when I decided later to check my Mr Boston guide, I could not find it on my shelf. I decided it would be handier on my kindle anyway, and bought that version. When I looked up the Mai Tai, it had the whole drink story, with the original ingredients, and a non brand specific version that would not require interpretation today (simple syrup instead of rock candy syrup, general description of best type of rum to use).http://www.raumboerse-luzern.ch/mieten/boss-dd-7-owners-manual Certainly trendy guides can have their place, but this is a great basic reference. The book is like having an unpretentious bartender friend come over to your house and give you mini lessons on what kind of bar equipment you need, how to stock your bar... and, most importantly, how to make drinks. Despite all the other useful and interesting info, the majority of the book is dedicated to drink recipes. None of them call for mixes -- there is a focus on using fresh lemon or lime juice, as well as instructions on how to make your own simple syrup. That said, you won't find a bunch of difficult or complex drinks that call for you to spend half an hour preparing ingredients like some of the newer fancy cocktail books appear. There are some newer recipes, but the book is mostly dedicated to classic drinks. The size of perfect -- we can actually store it on top of the bar, but it would easily fit on a shelf or wherever you need it. The type is small but readable. Overall, this book is a gem for the home bar. This is by far the best bartenders guide I have ever seen.I recommend this to anyone earning a bartenders certification or simply someone looking to impress there friends and family at there next party. The book arrived ahead of the scheduled delivery and came in perfect, brand new condition. I haven't put this book down since I picked it up. The results of the knowledge gained from this guide has made me look pretty cool and bbq's and parties and tailgate events. Buy this book, you will not be disappointed.Having recently picked up cocktails as a hobby, I wanted to expand my arsenal. After looking through it and making a list of things to buy, I realized I really only had the things to make drinks I already knew how to make. I also noticed many of the recipes differed from ones I'd learned elsewhere. I decided to try their recipes. I'd say making drinks the way this book told me to improved their taste and presentation by about 300.http://hilalbaskul.com/images/buy-manual-typewriter-australia.pdf I'm comfortable saying that anything made from this book will be at least drinkable but will most likely be amazing. The book itself is a nice size for reference purposes. Reading at the front will expand mind of any amateur bartender. It would be nice if it had a more comprehensive list of what basic things every bar needs, but you can find those things elsewhere so it's not really worth a star. Drinks to try: Diablo, Sazerac, Hot Pants, El MatadorI've enjoyed reading the book. Without a doubt, it is the grand-daddy of all bartender's guides. The intro is quite interesting, and I'm glad I have it. It's spiral bound, lays flat so you can use it like a receipt book - read and create. I'm happy I have both of them. Happy trails, SarahI bought it just to have, after having borrowed a friend's older edition. But this updated edition is great. Has nice descriptions on the history of certain recipes, and has recipes that appeal to more modern tastes and trends. Does not have a lot of pictures, though, so you may need to check other books to know what equipment is what if you're new to the bartending hobby. Good for home hobbyist or as a professional reference. I like that it's organized by liquor type.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. If you’re between the ages 20 and 110, the answer is probably “yes.” Some 11 million copies have been printed in 68 editions over eight decades. Even the most down-at-the-heels beer-and-a-shot joint has a copy somewhere, probably next to a dusty bottle of Angostura bitters. If there was a recipe that we weren’t too sure of, we’d turn our back to the guests and sneak in a look, and try to be sly about it and not embarrass ourselves.” And how’s he holding up against the challenge of younger, sleeker competitors? In 1951, a fifth of its Rocking Chair Blended Whiskey (“Smooth as Ocean-Rocked Whiskies of Old”) sold for fewer than three dollars, well under than five-year Tom Moore bottled-in-bond bourbon, which cost five. If Jerry Thomas’s Bar-Tender.With top hat and muttonchops, he was a sort of human Mr.https://www.hotelamoha.it/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16298f603a2418---Construction-specification-manual.pdf Peanut, minus the monocle. As Modern Drunkard once put it, “his portly stature, easy-going grin, and the fact he was sometimes pictured casually slumped in a chair suggested he was willing to hook you up with a deal.” He conveyed authority, quality and heritage, never mind that he was sorely lacking in all three. With top hat and muttonchops, he was a sort of human Mr. Peanut, minus the monocle. As Modern Drunkard once put it, “his portly stature, easy-going grin, and the fact he was sometimes pictured casually slumped in a chair suggested he was willing to hook you up with a deal.” Glowing like a beacon, one could easily find it amid the mahogany gloaming of the backbar. The Boston Globe once called it, “the Little Red Book of America’s permanent cocktail revolution.” He kept tabs on what people were drinking, added recipes and generally ensured that the book was up-to-date. If a customer asked for a particular drink, a bartender with Old Mr. Boston could probably make it. A 1963 edition, for instance, features The Blue Devil (gin, lemon juice, maraschino, blue vegetable dye), as well as a two-page special section on eggnog, for which every single recipe included the same ingredient: “prepared dairy eggnog.” When the cocktail renaissance blossomed in the late 1990s, Old Mr. Boston was ready for his second act. The book was updated, the “old” was dropped from the name and noted bartenders were recruited to add relevance and luster. Among the editors: Jim Meehan (five editions, with wine and spirits writer Anthony Giglio), and Jonathan Pogash (the 2012 edition with Rick Rogers, celebrating its 75 th anniversary, if a few years late). They added some 200 recipes, revamped the chapter sections and expanded the introduction. Pogash also added about 200 new cocktails when updating the 2012 edition. Modern Classic Cocktails —jockey to become the drinks bible for a new generation. Nobody I spoke with knew of any plans to republish the book—although Sazerac continues to produce Mr. Boston spirits (rum, gin, vodka, cordials). Put it on a diet of 120 cocktails. Return to the tradition of color advertising throughout showcasing not just Mr. Boston products, but all of Sazerac Co.’s: Weller, Fleischmann’s Gin, Regan’s Orange Bitters, Eagle Rare, Sazerac Rye. Don’t worry about the cool kids at the craft cocktails bars; their bookshelves are already splintering beneath the weight of new tomes.Mr. Boston should dive back into the dive bar, his old-time haunt, and again be the bible for a generation that hasn’t yet discovered housemade bitters. Give him a chair to slouch in, and hand him a drink. And so he must not die. He’s also a contributing editor at The Atlantic magazine, where he launched and wrote the “Drinks” column from 2008 to 2014, and he writes regularly for Imbibe and The Daily Beast. He’s also written about spirits for The New York Times, Sunset, Yankee, enRoute, American Scholar, American Archeology and The Wall Street Journal. He lives in New Orleans and Grand Lake Stream, Maine. It produced its own label of gin, bourbon, rum, and brandies, as well as a few cordials and liqueurs.
