We've taken the information and developed a study guide that is guaranteed to help you be successful on the TExES. Regardless of which TExES test you have to take- you have come to the right place. Here you will find everything you need to know in order to be successful and get your certification. Now, we know you may be skeptical, so let us give you three good reasons we can back up what we claim: The Three Reasons To Believe What We Say The First Reason: Our company's name is Mometrix Test Preparation, and we have a team of standardized test researchers who have worked on developing our study guide for the TExES. The standards for who gets to work on the team are very strict- we demand the best for our customers, and only those who met our exacting standards made the cut. The dedicated research staff have years of combined experience in mastering the content and skills necessary to succeed on the toughest exams. The Second Reason: Some academic studies have revealed that test takers do not really benefit from the traditional test preparation process. But we knew there had to be a solution- if test takers were not doing well on the TExES despite high intelligence, there had to be a set of secret keys to the test that would open the door of success for these test takers. We believe we have succeeded in finding the secret keys of the exam. What we found was surprising, and in some cases ridiculously simple once explained to the average test taker. We put the findings together in a thorough, concise study guide that we believe allows any test taker, at any skill level, to improve his or her results dramatically with a minimum of effort. The Third Reason: We created the product in part because we were frustrated by the options available to test takers who really wanted to do well on the TExES. A common approach is to TEACH the material, instead of TEACHING THE TEST. That's not necessarily good enough for the TExES- you have to know how to apply the knowledge. Most test takers already have a general knowledge of the material that will be covered on the exam. One reason some test takers do well on the day of the test is that they have made the critical connection between the material they learned and how to use the material to succeed on the TExES. Our guide addresses the difference between merely knowing the material and knowing how to use the material to perform on test day. You're going to save time, money, and aggravation. You'll learn to avoid the mistakes and the bad strategies that you've been vulnerable to. --Just for starters, here are some ways our product can help your score on the TExES. Let us explain. Before we go any further, let us clarify what TExES Secrets is not. It is not a stale rehash of all of the things you have already learned in the past. TExES Secrets is our exclusive collection of the tips and the information that we have specially selected to give you the best results on the TExES for the least time spent studying. It's written in everyday language and is easy to use. We cover the 5 essential skills necessary to do well on the TExES, plus a comprehensive review covering your specific TExES test. Don't take our word for it. Listen to what our customers say about other Mometrix test preparation products. I purchased the Secrets file, and I just wanted to let you know that I got a 99 on my test. I just want to thank you again, and hope you have continued success in your ventures. Sincerely, Paul L. My name is Chris. I used the Secrets study guide for five days. The study guide made the test so easy to understand. Like you said this program is worth 100's of dollars. To me 1,000's!! THANKS, Chris G. I just had to thank you guys for the test prep. I bought the guide as a last minute prep, I mean maybe 5 hours before the test. Like I said, I had ZERO preparation. I was nervous about the test let alone receiving the score I needed. I read the guide through only once before test time and needless to say, the only way I passed was thanks to your refresher!! Brian Just dropping you a note to let you know that I am completely satisfied with the product. I had already taken the test once and landed in the 75 percentile of those taking it with me. I took the test a second time and used some of your tips and raised my score to the 97 percentile. Thanks for my much improved score. Denise W. I heard about your website from a friend. I am enrolled in a review course, and in hindsight, I wish I wouldn't have taken my review course and instead spent a fraction of the money on your program. Thank you! Zac L. This may not be an indictment of the whole company, but they have a lot of work to do on this copy in their next edition. The early pages(10-12) were esoteric in language, so much so, that I had difficulty understanding the jargon. I thought it showed a coach who wanted to add intellectual gravitas to their much-maligned field. After this first ten pages there was still no organization. Less than 40 of the test prep questions in the practice test had answers in the material meaning that this book doesn't give me all the information I need for the test (likely) OR that the questions are badly written (also likely). And the explanations aren't very good either. If I got one wrong I dutifully looked in the back for an explanation and found the snippet very unhelpful, unsatisfying. Finally there was no index for me to cross check material in the book to questions and answers in the practice test. Since hardly any of the questions are answered in the materials I guess this was by design.I read this entire book 3 times before sitting the exam yesterday. Sadly I must admit that only about 10 of the book's content came in the exam. Luckily I think that I did enough to pass (I will know for sure in 4 weeks) since I have 10 years teaching Physical Education in another region. If you study using this book alone without any Physical Education teaching experience you will be grossly unprepared.I really like how it breaks things down by grade. That can be a little overwhelming at times, but it is definitely helping and I already feel more confident about this test than I did before I started working through this bookI passed both tests but not because of these books. Both books have been useless; the content in the book is not on the test. The test is all situational. It's good information but it doesn't prepare you. Honestly, don't waste your money. Google some practice tests. The Mometrix Test Preparation booklet ranks right up there with the study material I have used to excel in my career and education. Great book and I am looking forward to use more Mometrix study material for more school certifications testing. The flow of content made no sense going from volleyball rules to how to give feedback, to teaching in extreme environments. There were way too many typos also. I don't know how this got more than 2-3 stars. There is a practice test after 84 pages of repetitive, unorganized information. The key points are listed and in bolded text to find quicker. Great product so far.Page 1 of 1 Start over Page 1 of 1 Previous page Next page. The 13-digit and 10-digit formats both work. Please try again. Please try again. Please try again. Jennifer S. 4.0 out of 5 stars The book was my main resource, but I also looked up a few things online that weren't described in detail in the text. Yes, there are some spelling errors, but the overall content is good. I did notice that some of the things in the book about federal and state health initiatives were out of date, so beware and do your research. I plan to buy more Xamonline books as I study for the EC-6 and ESL tests.Go to ets website and use their study guide since they're the ones giving the test. That's the most logical thing to do.Seriously? If that were the only thing wrong with this book, I could almost forgive them. We bought this for my husband to study for the TExES exam to be certified in PE. He did pass the test and yes, honestly this book was a big help. But it was so hard to get around the errors. The book was seriously lacking in a good editor. The quizzes, for example, had the incorrect answers listed as correct. The CONTENT was correct, but if you just graded yourself looking at A, B, C, D as your answers, you'd think you got right ones wrong and wrong ones right. You had to read the data and not just do a quick grading. Hopefully the content has improved as well.I passed with flying colors because of this book. It had a lot of misspelled words but was still a good review. Its and old edition, years have passed and the content of the test might have changed. I have purchased books of the same author before that have helped me out on my testing scores, however this book let me down. Since Sharon Wayne its not likely to go over and take the tests so she can update her editions, my recommendation to you go ahead and buy the book, but do NOT rely completely on it, and looked for a 2nd or even a 3er option. It does have errors on its redaction, but I believe that this must be the signature of XAMonline, Inc.This study guide is in dire need of update and editing.Great will buy again if anything I need comes up.Thank you also for emailing me In such a hurryAmazon is not legally responsible for the accuracy of the tags represented. It covers a wide range of essential knowledge and skills related to the TExES PE exam and is a necessary step toward becoming a certified physical education teacher in the state of Texas. TExES Exam TExES Study Guide TExES Flashcards Am I Eligible to Take the TExES Physical Education EC-12 Exam. In order to take the PE test, you first need to provide proof that you qualify for it. There are a few different paths you can take but, in general, you need to have completed either an approved educator preparation program or a bachelor’s degree in physical education. You may also be eligible to take it if you have already been certified in physical education by another state or country. After you complete the application for the authorization to test, you can register to take the exam either by phone or online. You should do this as soon as you receive your authorization so that you can make sure you get the date and time that are most convenient to you. You should also make any arrangements for special accommodations you might need while you are registering for your appointment. In that case, it is better to register by phone so you can speak with a representative about your needs. What Should I Expect on Test Day. The test is computer-administered and all materials that you need will be provided for you. So you should not really bring anything with you beyond two forms of ID to check in. You may also want to bring a small snack because the test will last five hours. You’ll have to keep the snack stored outside of the exam room but many testing centers will provide storage lockers for this purpose. Ask in advance if this will be a possibility. If not, just make sure to eat a substantial breakfast on the morning of the test so that you won’t be distracted by hunger during the test. What Topics Are Included on the Exam. There are going to be 100 multiple-choice questions on this exam. There may be an additional 15 to 25 unscored questions on top of that but these are simply being tested for inclusion on future versions of the exam and won’t affect your results. The questions will be divided across three content areas related to physical education. The test is scored on a scale of 100 to 300. Your final score is different from your raw score (the actual number of questions you answered correctly) in order to make it comparable across different versions of the test. No matter which version of the test you take, you need to get a minimum scaled score of 240 in order to pass and become certified. Your official score report will tell you whether or not you passed as well as how you performed in each of the three content areas. What Should I Study to Prepare for the Test. The test is mainly composed of principles, standards, and methods for promoting healthy physical fitness in students. Each of these principles, standards, and methods is based on the established Texas curriculum. So you primarily need to study that curriculum in detail. The best way to do that is to use the Mometrix Study Guide which compiles all of those principles and standards in one convenient book. You can easily review everything you need to know and create a study plan using the guide’s own recommendations and sample schedule. To help you more effectively absorb and remember all of that information, you should also get Mometrix Flashcards. They provide an equally comprehensive overview of the material and present it in a way that is clear and easy to understand.
