David Jimenez 5.0 out of 5 stars When I bought my Sunfire, I also bought the book, and started with the oil changes (I know, terribly basic). Then I had to change the front break lines, refill the AC, and a few other things, and it was as easy as following the instructions in the book. Yes, probably a professional mechanic would have spent half an hour (and would have billed me for three hours or so) to do something that took me all morning or all afternoon on a weekend day. Unfortunately, my wife had an accident and the car was totaled (I really liked that car:-( ), but that happens. With my newer car (Toyota Camry) I also do the repairs by myself, and I can't complain. I really really recommend the Haynes Manuals. At least the two I've used, and I suppose all others are just as good.Good replacement.It does get one through the advanced basic needs, but the really heavy duty detailed work information is lacking to some degree.I was able to solve that problem with this book.Otherwise in great shape. Some of the images have low contrast. Some contrast enhancement should not be a problem with current printing technology. In one case (dash board) I found a mismatch between my model (Cavalier) and the picture shown (Sunfire). The instructions were not very helpful. Other than that, the book is reasonably well written and will provide a lot of information for your do-it-yourself repairs.Within the first week the Haynes Manual came in handy and with its detailed photos, pinpointed an area that was helpful with my repair. Just from experience in talking with customers it would seem that most drivers put this service on the back burner. Checking the transmission fluid before service begins is always a good idea. Not all transmissions will have a dipstick but most still do. If your transmission does have a dipstick make sure you wipe the dirt off around the cover of the dipstick handle before you pull it out of the tube.After exhaustive research it seems as if this common problem is somewhat model specific. If you have an old Toyota Corolla you might experience a crack in the fluid reservoir. On General Motors cars and trucks from the late 90s they used a cheap washer pump that often fails. Therefore, in this article we’ll empower you to diagnose and fix several issues that stop the windshield washers from working properly. Of course, you have the scenario where you hit the washer button and no fluid comes out. However, when this happens there’s an important thing to know about the problem. The pump can run and not pump fluid for several reasons. If you can’t hear the pump run have an assistant hit the washer button while you put your ear close to the windshield washer reservoir. This is where you’ll find the pump in many applications. If the pump runs we don’t have to perform any diagnosis to the electrical side of the circuit. This means no testing of the switch, the relay and all the wiring that attaches these devices to the washer pump. This situation also allows us to bypass diagnosis of the complex electrical system that sends power to the pump. Now we can concentrate on the pressure produced by the pump and the ability of the lines and the windshield washer nozzle to spray properly. I wish this wasn’t true, but most of the times when I pop the hood and check the reservoir level, I find an empty container. In a situation where they mount the pump in the reservoir, the washer fluid actually cools and lubricates the pump impeller. So in this situation, when I fill the reservoir, it might also become necessary to replace the pump. Car owners depend on the auto repair center to refill all of their fluids during an oil change service. However, this doesn’t always happen. It’s also a way to save money on expenses for performing a service that shows very little profit for the shop. In either situation, the vehicle owner must take responsibility. Open the hood after service and make sure you got what you paid for. You need to take charge of your own automotive maintenance. With that said, when mechanics find a clog in the windshield washer system it’s often closer to the windshield washer nozzles. You can replace these washer jets and sometimes you can use a very thin piece of mechanic wire to clean them out. However, make sure not to enlarge the plastic hole in the nozzle. This changes the spray pattern as it hits the windshield. Picking up from where we left off in the last section let’s say you hear the pump running, but no fluid shoots out. If you disconnect the washer fluid lines and they aren’t clogged, you might have a pump pressure problem. These of course are the pump inlet and outlet locations. Some manufacturers place a filter on the inlet side to stop debris from working its way up to the windshield washer nozzles. If the factory equipped your vehicle with one of these, it needs cleaning and checking. If the inlet side tests good, then you’ll need to focus on the outlet side of the windshield washer pump. Even if you don’t run the windshield washer reservoir dry, some manufacturers experience windshield washer pump failure at a high rate. The Chevy Silverado pickup trucks from the late 90s make this list. Unfortunately, the windshield washer pump won’t go that far. If you disconnect the outlet hose from the windshield washer system and operate the switch you should see a pressure discharged stream with about 6 psi of force. If it just trickles out, it’s time to try replacing the washer pump itself. Replacing the pump isn’t too difficult and if you need further assistance, please consult your model specific auto repair manual. But you need to find a reliable mechanic. Dusett Jr. 4.0 out of 5 stars The maps at the beginning of each chapter are nicely detailed and relatively easy to determine where on the map your character is. The collectable info has its own section at the end of the guide that you can easily flip to if you're playing through and just want to make sure that you grab everything as you go. The collectable info is also shown in their respective sections in the guide and, usually, they're easy to make sure you grab as you follow along. For the most part, this is fine, the artifact's inset catches your eye and you don't miss it. So, as I said, the guide is very detailed and a great resource, but if you're trying to collect every single thing on your play through, make sure you either save very often, under multiple save files, or read a whole page ahead in the guide before you go through any door.I love the strategy guides and this only helps a person get through the game. It has everything that most people want in a guide, maps, descriptions, pictures, and where some of those things people want to find for trophies are. That said, this does have a few faults and the reason for the 4 star rating. It does lack in some situations when it come to finding certain things with some unclear directions and confusing pictures. It does have great maps detailing where items and things are, but on multi-level maps it can get downright confusing. It also does have separate sections for finding those extra items, but it also has its issues with giving some details. For me the reason I generally get Collectors Edition guides is for some bonus content about the history of the game, development of the game, or an interview. This guide lacks this part entirely. Which to me is a huge disappointment. The flaws in this guide however is something I seem to notice about BradyGames guides in general. I prefer Prima guides for various reasons, but BradyGames did a better job than other guides for various other games. Overall, it is a great guide despite its problems and will help anyone playing the game, just expect to hit pause a few times if you try and read the maps.It is a high-class hardcover and detailed game guide with tons of information and detailed info about the locations, collectibles, trophies in the single player campaign and also in the factions - the multiplayer part of the game, which I haven't even touched yet. It is only my second guide I bought from BradyGames, the first one was the Half Life 2 game guide I bought a long long time ago. It's a wonderful looking limited edition game guide with an exquisite hardcover mat finish cover and a wonderful the last of us logo exserted from it. So to sum up, it is a perfected game guide with a sleek looking mat finish and it comes with a cool firefly keychain.The keychain is a neat trinket that's just like the one in the game. The guide itself is very sturdy and is sure to be more resilient to wear and tear than a regular edition guide. The guide offers lots of great tips and walk-throughs for the game as well as having a great layout and art throughout.Other than that, it looks awesome along with my statue. The keychain is made of high-caliber material, it doesn't scratch, nothing. It withstands. It looks awesome.
