We do our best to show a spark of technological genius in each trail cam product we design and produce. All of our trail cameras and accessories incorporate ingenuity in design, quality workmanship and materials and are backed by a one year warranty. Features such as Invisible “Night Vision“ IR illumination, timelapse imaging, and the compact “palm-sized” case design make our trail cameras the most innovative trail cameras on the market today. Quite simply, Browning Trail Cameras are “The Best There Is”. Both cameras provide performance and overall value that you wouldn’t expect receiving at this price. Given its inconspicuous appearance, some even used this trail camera as a security camera in their home, discreetly recording what goes on in front of their property. Its casing prevents the important parts of the trail camera from getting wet or affected by moisture. This casing is also responsible for having a trail camera that can perform even during the winter or hot summer nights. Included in the package is a 6-inch long strap that you can use to strap the Browning Dark Ops BTC-6 to trees or posts. This fact makes it an excellent choice for surveillance use but it also sets some limitations to the camera’s performance. But surprisingly you can find both of these Browning models selling roughly at the same price at Amazon.com. In other words, the daytime images are near flawless. However, the 70ft flash range of Dark Ops tells us that there is plenty of power in the no-glow LEDs and that can be seen in the quality of night shots as well. In general most other no glow trail cameras produce much dimmer and grainier pics. Or you can choose to use one of the other shooting modes (timelapse, rapid-fire, multi-shot) that Browing Camera provides. The trigger speed is one of the fastest on the market, 0.67 seconds only, and the camera is ready to shoot again in less than 2.5 seconds. Photos and videos are saved on max. 32GB SD memory card. The camera uses no glow flash and still produces well-illuminated images that are not blurry and very seldom suffer from whiteout either. Browning has really managed to pack all the goodies into one tiny package without losing the user-friendliness. The battery life of this camera is really good even though it only uses 6 AAs to run. Fast trigger speed, fast recovery time and excellent detection area. Period. A matter of opinion really, but small buttons may not be a convenient option for some users as the slide switches. It is really, really hard to find better game cameras at the price that these two models are sold. Time-lapse shooting mode captures images at pre-set intervals from 5 sec to 5 min, enabling you to see change over time. The camera also offers motion-detect mode via the PIR (passive infrared) motion sensor, which has a detection range of 40-45' and a fast trigger speed of 0.7 sec. Enjoy the ability to capture up to 8 images in Multi-Shot mode or 6 in Rapid Fire mode--ensuring that you don't miss the action. A small text LCD screen displays information such as mode, number of pictures or videos taken, and remaining battery life. Its infrared LED flash features a range of over 70' at night. Image Resolution Captures 10MP still images and HD 1280 x 720 video clips with sound, thanks to the CMOS image sensor and built-in microphone. Sub Micro Series This series features the most compact case design for a lower profile and more covert trail camera. Infrared Flash The infrared LED flash features a range of over 70' at night, and is very discreet--ensuring that it won't scare off wildlife. PIR Motion Sensor Motion-activated PIR (passive infrared) sensor features a detection range of 40-45' and a fast trigger speed of 0.7 sec. It detects the changes in temperature that occur when subjects move, and captures images in response. Time-lapse mode allows the camera to capture time-lapse images during daytime. Time-lapse Plus mode does the same thing, but also activates the motion sensor during both day and night, ensuring that you don't miss any game activity. Time-lapse duration can also be set, in order to control the number of hours per day the camera spends in time-lapse mode. You can set duration to all day (sunrise to sunset) or select 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0 hr after sunrise and another 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0 hr prior to sunset. The camera learns the length of a day and consistently adjusts the 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0 hr duration automatically. Multi-Shot Mode Set the camera to capture 1-8 shots in quick succession when triggered. If you select 4-shot standard, the camera will take 4 pictures spaced 3 sec apart. Rapid Fire mode allows for even faster shots, taking up to 6 exposures spaced only 0.3 sec apart. Video HD 1280 x 720 or 640 x 480 videos can be captured in the following clip lengths: 5.0, 10, 20 or 30 sec, or 1.0 or 2.0 min. To conserve battery power, nighttime videos are limited to a maximum length of 10 sec. Display Camera has a small text LCD screen that displays camera operation mode, number of photos or videos taken, number of photos or videos that can be captured with the SD card, camera delay countdown, and battery life percentage. The camera modes that can be displayed include trail (still photos), video, Time-lapse and Time-lapse Plus. Additionally, you can add a custom name to your camera. By showing the phase of the moon, the camera allows you to see which animals are inactive during a full or nearly-full moon--when the brighter lighting conditions will make them more visible to predators. Moon phase also helps you determine if brighter or darker backgrounds in your images are due to the fullness of the moon. The information bar can be turned on or off. Motion Test Helps you aim the camera at your target area. When motion is detected in this area, a red LED on the front of the camera will flash. Connectivity Equipped with a TV Out connector for viewing images on a television screen and a USB port for file transfer to a computer (USB cable sold separately). Power Runs on 6 AA alkaline or lithium batteries, which are available separately, and is configured with a 12V external power jack for an optional external battery. The optional Browning Trail Camera Tree Mount has a locking gimbal that lets you position your camera at the optimal angle. Security Features a hole for an optional padlock. A steel security box can also be purchased separately. Bundled Software The included Buck Watch Timelapse Viewer Software CD-ROM allows you to play back your time-lapse video files on a computer running the Windows XP, Vista or 7 operating system. See an entire day's worth of images in only a few minutes, or view each image one-by-one. For a quick look at long video files, you can use the Activity Search function to allow the software to skip frames with no game activity and stop only on frames where game or movement is present. Rewind, pause, play, zoom in and zoom out controls are at your fingertips, and you can also save and share still images or export video clips. When a software upgrade is available, it will be posted on the manufacturer's website, along with detailed instructions for downloading. If the CD is ever lost or missing, you can download a free copy of the software from the same website. Spypoint Solar-Dark Reviews by Brand The Dark Ops HD is simply the no glow version of the Strike Force. No glow means the camera does not emit a light that is visible to the human eye. The Strike Force is red glow (we can see a faint red glow when it takes a video or picture). The Dark Ops also prints the barometric pressure on the pictures (Strike Force does not). Browning has been advertising all their 2015 cameras as having a higher resolution of video and having improved latch construction. Let's take a closer look and see how the Dark Ops HD is doing. This is a very small, compact, easy to conceal trail camera. All the buttons for programming work pretty well, although sometimes you will have to push a button a second time for it to react. The programming on the camera is very simple and easy to use. As for durability, in 2015 there have been a run of cameras that took black night pictures along with cameras that are turning on and off rapidly. Browning has released firmware updates to fix this problem. Here is a breakdown of some of the more popular settings: The video recovery is just a tick slower, however, that is still an impressive number.
