I bought this book to help educate my eyes and heart and identify what they have fallen in love with. This book is full of information useful to that purpose - everything from identifying periods and styles to learning how to describe the different elements of a piece of furniture. The pricing part of the guide is interesting study. In my case my pocketbook sets price. I have already been able to put some of the information I found in the book to good use so I am happy to have this guide on my shelves.I was looking for some assistance in pricing mid 20th century furniture. It did not have any of that in the book. I was disappointed.Its a sure plus to an antique furniture book collection library. Highly recommend.For developing knowledge on the subject.Was disappointed by the lb ack of content. D Pyra 3.0 out of 5 stars I just know it's old. I came into possession of an old folding ruler and wanted to see if I could find a possible origin and value for it. Plan on using it, not selling it, so it doesn't really matter but I was curious. This book has a little bit of general info, then lists of individual tools divided by type with values for the better survivors of time with very few pictures. There are over 100 different folding rulers with limited descriptions and only one picture. For the unfamiliar, how the heck do you identify your tool without pictures of all known survivors and grading of wear? Eh. Everything I've learned about my ruler I learned from eBay, of all places, just by looking at the listings there. My ruler is worn enough to only have personal value left, so this book was bought to satisfy curiosity alone. Curiosity unsatisfied. This book has mostly quality museum examples of outrageously priced tools, not the every day run of the mill stuff. This book by Blanchard is impressive to look through but, has no descriptions of types or dimensions of tools, to speak of, mostly pictures. In the same area; remove the fuel line and the engine temp sensor. Next, remove your air cleaner assembly, throttle cables, and carefully, unplug all of the sensor plugs at your throttle body. Now, you can remove the hardware that secures your throttle body to the heads and carefully slide the complete throttle body away from the motor. This is very important for the single fire ignition. Loosen and remove your upper rocker box. You will want to spin your rear wheel until you have reached top dead center. At this point there is the least amount of pressure on your pushrods which allows for ease of disassembly. Remove your pushrod clips. Next, loosen and remove the two bolts that retain your breather assembly; then evenly, loosen and remove your rocker arm towers. Label the towers front and rear and set them aside. Now, you can loosen and remove your lower rocker boxes. You are now stripped down to the heads. Break them free with one sharp motion; then continue to loosen evenly in a cross pattern. Lift off your heads and remove the old head gaskets. Next, you can carefully slide the cylinders off of the pistons and cylinder studs. Work slowly and methodically. Focus on not allowing any debris to enter the open crank case. Label the cylinders and set aside. Now you can push clean shop towels into the openings of the crank case to protect against anything falling into your lower end, while the top end is apart. It is important to slide short lengths of rubber hose over your cylinder studs for protection. Then, proceed by picking out the wrist pin clips and carefully tapping the wrist pins out from the connecting rods. It is preferable to use a connecting rod holder when tapping out the wrist pins, if the tool is available to you. Follow Mike’s instructions and refer to your service manual. You will see that a lengthy job does not necessarily make it a difficult job. By taking your time, focusing, working clean and orderly, you will find yourself moving right through this detailed repair or upgrade. Bob demonstrates the best way to do this using a MityVac and a gasoline can. Once you follow his instructions and drain the fuel tank filter, cleaning any dirty parts and tightening any loose bolts, you can refill the tank with fuel and your bike should be good to go.
