Content wise, this version of the textbook has exactly what the physical version has. It is not, however, an exact replica of the page layout of the physical version. I don't really care about that, as long as the content is the same I will get what I need out of the book. One thing to note is that there is NOT an access code with this version. I called the JB Learning and purchased the access code as a standalone. When I bought the access code, I was able to use a discount code. I am not sure if that is something they always do, but it made the overall price of the kindle version textbook and the access code to be less than what the physical textbook would have been - so that is something to think about. As for the textbook itself.all l I can say is that it is a textbook. Course reading is not always exciting, but this book gets the job done, and is an integral part of the EMS training.It seems well organized with clearly defined learning objectives, chapter outlines, etc. It has an excellent review of anatomy and physiology in chapter 6. The Pharmacology chapter was also most excellent and covered various drugs and medications in more detail than I got in my original EMT-Basic class and text. I would recommend this text to anyone studying for their EMT-Basic certification or even for preppers and other folks interested in learning about how to competently handle medical emergencies - going well beyond “put a bandaid on it and wait for help to arrive” focus of so many “first aid” classes.It's well written, and covers each aspect of the EMT scope of practice in detail. My only issue with the book is that it tends to be very verbose. I think this text could be reduced down by 25-40 without losing any important details. Professor did not require we use it (which I don't think is uncommon) but I was very eager to have a digital copy. For those who are renting there is a possibility that your book will have a fresh code, however, there is no guarantee that it will come with one.The book is 11 lbs, so I purchased the kindle version so I can easily carry it with me. ExcellentRenting the book from Amazon was easy-peasy and a cheaper alternative rather than buying the book outright. It had a lot of useful information but not much has changed since the previous 3-4 editions.There is a great amount of detail, but this is required in order to know the subject. The chapters repeat information, but this is also necessary as it is very important to not forget the basic issues which are always primary for an EMT. At first I thought they had added a lot of material. I discovered that while there is a good bit more material covered these days, the book is extremely repetitive. Maybe they want you to consider the same issues over and over, but I find it frustrating that the same materials, charts and diagrams are repeated in multiple chapters. I do not like the layout within chapters either, which hits multiple times on each illness in different spots. So, you have an overview for all the conditions in the chapter, then the signs and symptoms, then what to do about them, etc. This would make it much easier if you wanted to refresh your recollection on that subject rather than find where it is mentioned three or four places in at least one and perhaps several chapters. Inexcusable in my mind is the fact that on some subjects that are repeated throughout the book in multiple places, the substantive text varies. I am not sure who edits this book, but one should be able to expect internal consistency in the text after all these years. I think this book is ready for a zero based review and makeover. Section 705 of the Communications Act provides that. In addition, the statute provides for a private civil remedy to any person aggrieved by a violation of this section. The FCC regulations implementing this section more specifically provide that messages originated by “privately-owned non-broadcast stations... may be broadcast only upon receipt of prior permission from the non-broadcast licensee.”. The Commission stated even more directly in a June 1999 Fact Sheet that: Section 705 of the Communications Act generally does not prohibit the mere interception of radio communications... if you listen to radio transmissions on your scanner, such as emergency service reports, you are not in violation of Section 705. However, a violation of Section 705 would occur if you divulge or publish what you hear or use it for your own or someone else’s benefit.
