Still blows black smoke and can't handle a load. The only part modified was the plunger taken out of the broken fuel shutoff solenoid. I then plugged it with a screw (I thought for safety to keep gas out). It wouldn't run at all so I removed screw. I'm at a loss. Is there any way the solenoid without plunger could be causing this? What would the experts check next? In doing so, I did not pay enough attention as to which hole the throttle cable was attached to. I made my best guess and reassembled the carb to the mower. I can get the engine started, but it only runs with the choke on. As soon as I open the choke it dies. When it runs with the choke on, it hunts, shoots sparks out of the exhaust. Does this sound like a linkage assembly problem or something else. I did not remove the bowl from the carb or clean the needle valve, I only sprayed and cleaned the butterfly valves to loosen them up. Is there somewhere I can go to view proper linkage connections. I want to restore the engine and the mower deck and transaxle to brand new condition but I want to leave the frame and body alone. It took over 3 decades for it to acheve this unique look so I want to keep it that way. What I want is a rusty old almost 40 year old lawn mower that runs, drives, and mows like new. I took the 1992 Briggs 11 horse out of the Wizard mower and dropped it into the Dynamark. I got it all wired up and now the Dynamark lives. I had to remove the grille because it would not work with the 11 horse. The hood is still hinged and still operates like normal its just missing a peice. The clutch barely works and I am missing the brake arm so I have no brakes. The seat is also not bolted on so it makes driving it difficult. Tomarrow or Wednesday I am going to finish the wiring and bolt on the seat and fix my brakes. All the gears work and it drives pretty good. I am missing the belt keepers so the belt did come off one time when I clutched it all the way in. It looks kinda ugly but I kinda like it. Of course it has a new paint job and is ready to go. What I was wondering about was the age of this unit - All I have to go on is the numbers off of the chassis and engine.
