The first half of the book is pretty useful in the event of any kind of disaster, covering how to scavenge parts and get yourself setup with power and light. Second half becomes a little repetitive from a reading point of view as it takes the project from the previous chapter and modifies it a little to create something new.http://geose.ru/userfiles/delonghi-eam-3000-manual.xml If you were following along and making the projects at the same time this is far more useful. Using the zombie apocalypse theme is a cool way to introduce some maker concepts, I'd certainly recommend only reading this if you intend to follow along by making at least some of projects. It's not that easy to follow as just a stand-alone read Definitely want to make some of the projects and could use most of the projects for camping or security scenarios. I bought this book because my kids are into the Walking Dead and I thought it would be a fun way to teach them some basic programming and electronics. The circuits are simple enough to build and would work if there ever was a Zombie apocalypse or a need to do some basic security around your house but it's meant to be lighthearted not the end all be all prepper manual. If you're new to Arduino this book is a lot more fun than some of the drier Arduino books out there. It kept up the zombie apocalypse motif throughout but very quickly introduced projects like using a car alternator and bicycle to charge batteries. Other interesting projects included motion sensing, FM broadcasting, communications, solar power, etc. I appreciated the emphasis on use of project components that can be salvaged. This book is pretty awesome- it is tongue. I based my decision to buy it on these reviews and I am not disappointed. This book is pretty awesome- it is tongue and cheek as far as setting up for the zombie apocalypse (which I enjoyed) but there is a ton of information in there about things you can do for times when there is no power available. The best parts of the book in my opinion are projects to take advantage of all the capabilities of the Pi and Arduino. If you are big into making Arduino, etc gadgets, I would not spend the money on this. It's cute, but hardly informative. Approved third parties also use these tools in connection with our display of ads. Sorry, there was a problem saving your cookie preferences. Try again.
