JCI knew I had to pick this book up when i heard it was released. Marta has a lot of valuable recipes worth trying to create the health lifestyle we all desire. I do recommend following her insights. She is a true health expert.I can't believe it has so much information and reference to food items I have not heard of before but are available here in the UK. To name a couple of them, kefir (fermented milk drink) and vegan maple syrup. The authors style is almost like she is writing the book for a friend. Simple tips like changing caffeine drinks to caffeine free. The book is not strictly raw food as she suggests using boiled eggs in a recipe as well as heating the water to 40 degrees but this of course can be ignored if you follow a strict 100 raw food diet. I just want to try and incorporate more raw food into our family meals and this book is useful for me. The recipes all seem great and I like the use of avocado's, cinnamon and lemons as well as almonds. The spicy eggplant cream is going to be a winner in my house. Although this is not an alkaline diet it does have overlaps. This book has a lot of great ideas to help you get on the right track towards juicing, and eating more fruits and veggies. And then there are a ton of fabulous recipes. I especially like the Multi-Bean Salad, as well as the Frosty Carrot Juice. There are a lot of other great recipes too. For anyone who wants to improve their health and incorporate more fruits and vegetables, this book is a great place to start. It will not only inspire you, but it will give you the tools and recipes to start to make small and gradual changes in your diet. Besides offering enticing recipes like Peppered Strawberries, Hot juices (soups) made in a Vitamix, DIY nut milks, creative and simple salads, jalapeno hummus, and a chocolate-coconut smoothie using raw cocao, among others, they hold out the promise of better health and weight loss, lowered blood pressure, a turnaround for diabetics, lowered risk of cancer and heart attack. Packed with good recipes and information.Disappointing. How disappointing. This is NOT a juicing book, despite the very misleading title. This is about using a Vitamix to create all sorts of drinks - I'd be inclined to call them smoothies rather than juices, and the recipes will simply not work in a juicer. Try putting a banana into a real juicer and you'll get into trouble.
