The system may also turn on your lights when driving through a parking garage, heavy overcast weather or a tunnel. This is normal. To idle your vehicle with the automatic headlamp system off, set the parking brake while the ignition is off. Then start your vehicle. The fog lamp button is located on the instrument panel to the right of the exterior lamps knob. Press the button to turn the fog lamps on. Press the button again to turn them off. Turn the knob all the way up to turn on the interior lamps. Press the knob back into its stored position. To turn the lamps off press the button. The dome lamps will remain off when a door is open. When the ignition is on, the brake system warning light will come on when you set your parking brake. Your vehicle will not be protected by Passlock, and you should see your dealer. If this light stays on, see your dealer as soon as possible for diagnosis and repair. This light may also come on if there is a problem with the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system. If this happens, take the vehicle in for service as soon as possible. This system is also designed to assist your service technician in correctly diagnosing a malfunction. The CHECK GAGES light will come on briefly when you are starting the engine. Fuel Gage. If this light comes on, your liftgate or liftglass is ajar. Try closing the liftgate or liftglass again. Never drive with the liftgate or liftglass even partially open. None of these show a problem with your fuel gage. Low Fuel Light.
