Like Share More 3 answers Joe 3 years ago Sorry, I can’t help you with that one, however I do know that even with ourbrand new front load washer there are cycles of over 3 hrs, I always use quick wash which is usually anywhere from 25-45 mins depending on the machine. You get a thorough wash and the result is squeaky clean. I don't think there is any problem with the timer. Like Share More Similar opinion.Here is a summary of what we got for our money:- Door was replaced 4 times during the warranty period due to formation of cracks (common problem - apparently) with the final successful replacement occurring after a redesigned unit was brought out from Europe. Plastics yellowed, even though the machine is situated in a laundry on the south eastern corner of our home where it is never exposed to direct sunlig. Read more ht. Even though the machine has been situated on a tiled floor and has never flooded, it began to exhibit signs of rust formation under the paintwork on all four corners of the front panel - at age 4, this thing looks like a delapidated relic from the dump, even though it has been treated well and has no other chips or dents. At age 4, the door lock switch cashed its chips - not that it makes much difference as the machine has not seemed capable of an acceptably clean wash or running without an orchestra of noises since it was twelve months old. Net result, I will never have another Whirlpool anything in our house and nor will I ever trust a recommendation by Choice magazine. I just wish that I was as financial as our neighbour, who having also bought a Whirlpool AWM 8121 at the same time as us, relocated it to the tip at age 2 after their machine began to display similar problems. Purchased this machine 4 years ago for a pricey sum. 1st year, the plastic became discolored - yellow instead of white. Heading in the 2nd year - one would think I had a DC 10 taking off inside my home. 3rd year - I could no longer use certain wash settings and rust began to show within the body of the machine. The reason you need to leave the brush holding tabs in place is that the brush is on a spring and will shoot out if you are not careful. Once installed use a small wire cutter or blade to cut them. Be careful laying the machine on its side. It has a large concrete counterweight if you drop it will break. Take the back off first to see where the motor is. By the time I cleaned up the floor and put everything back at least an hour. I suggest that when sell a new and improved pump to supply it with the electric connection with short wires to modify if needed. Remove drain hose from sink and lower to floor level to drain out excess water into a bucket. Turn washing machine on its side to expose drain pump at bottom of machine. Unplug electrical connector to pump motor, remove 3 screws to pump with a security bit. Install new pump motor to same position as old one. Plug connector back on to motor. Stand washing machine up put drain hose back in sink connect both water pipes to machine making sure the hot water pipe is connected to the correct tap at both ends. Plug in machine and turn on. Run a sample wash in case the cycle does not complete because the drain pump is not working. Remove wires to 2 x brushes and remove brushes. Clean commentator with fine sandpaper. Snap off brush retainers on the new brushes and fit brushes. Connect wires to brushes tip machine upright and good to go. Alternatively the top cover can be removed and access gained from the top. Access is then gained to the switch after removing the two p-head screws which can be replaced using your fingers. I came back to look for brushses for same. Your price 89. Ebay has 29 including postage. So I went elsewhere for the brushes. Turn off power Remove the 2 external screws holding the door interlock in place. Hold the drum to the opposite corner of the frame and working mostly blind unplug the connector to the door interlock. Release the plastic clips holding the interlock to the plastic cable guide (with a finger it should release easily). Follow the reverse order to install the new door interlock. Remove solenoid outlet hose. Unclip power to the solenoid. Push in tabs of the solenoid housing away from the washing machine chassis then twist the solenoid to remove. Install the new solenoid in the reverse order. Run through test cycle to ensure correct operation. Remove back from machine, unclip electrical wire and unclip water hose, twist the faulty inlet valve anti clockwise and replace with new inlet valve and reconnect. After removing the wiring connector and hose the unit simply twists 90 Deg, and pulls out. Remove top cover by undoing the two phillips head screws at the back of the panel. Press open hose clamp using pliers and remove the hose. Twist inlet valve clockwise about 30 degrees to enable locking lugs to disengage. I found this took a reasonable amount of force. Install new valve by reversing the above instructions. Fit onto flywheel by carefully feeding on while rotating wheel - be sure to maintain tension on the belt at all times.
