Thus, hue-accurate, highly saturated colors appear as lines radiating from the center. Click for a larger image. The P900's mean color saturation at base ISO is 111.8 (11.8 oversaturated) which is typical, perhaps just a touch higher than average.http://www.sportsbrothers.at/userfiles/cyberhome-ch-300-dvd-manual.xml We found the P900 generally produces attractive colors in its images. You can of course tweak saturation to your liking, or choose a different color mode, including two custom options. Most consumer digital cameras produce color that's more highly saturated (more intense) than found in the original subjects. This is simply because most people like their color a bit brighter than life. The cyan to blue shift is very common among the digital cameras we test; we think it's a deliberate choice by camera engineers to produce better-looking sky colors, and we don't find the resulting color objectionable.Average exposure compensation required. The Manual setting is the most accurate, just slightly on the cool side.Complete extinction of the pattern didn't occur until about 2,700 lines in both directions. Use these numbers to compare with other cameras of similar resolution, or use them to see just what higher resolution can mean in terms of potential detail. Still, not a bad performance given the sensor size, resolution and massive lens. Edge enhancement creates the illusion of sharpness by enhancing colors and tones right at the edge of a rapid transition in color or tone. This is typical of small sensors, though, and the P900 did a good job at removing color noise here. Noise-suppression systems in digital cameras tend to flatten-out detail in areas of subtle contrast. There's slightly stronger smudging at ISO 200, but fine detail is still pretty good. At ISO 400, there's a more significant drop in image quality as noise reduction works harder, though fine detail is still fairly good. ISO 800 is noticeably softer and starts to show some objectionable chroma blotching in the hair and darker areas while flatter areas start to take on a watercolor painting effect. Image quality drops off quickly at ISO 1600 and above, with strong blurring, higher luminance noise and visible noise reduction artifacts, though ISOs 1600 and 3200 actually exhibit lower chroma noise than ISO 800.https://labroclub.ru/blog/boss-br-1600cd-multitrack-digital-recorder-manual See the Print Quality section below for our evaluation of maximum print sizes at each ISO setting. The Low NR setting does however do a little better in terms of detail retention at the expense of slightly higher noise levels, enough so that we'd probably opt to shoot with the Low setting in most cases. There's no Bulb mode, and exposure times are limited based on ISO selected. At ISO 100, the maximum exposure time is 15 seconds and the maximum exposure halves each time ISO sensitivity is doubled so that at ISO 200 the maximum is 8 seconds, at ISO 400 the maximum is 4 seconds, and so on, even in full manual exposure mode. The P900's Night Landscape scene setting is limited to a maximum exposure of 2 seconds when the scene is set to tripod mode and ISO is locked at 100. And the AF assist lamp sometimes made things worse instead of better, overwhelming the AF system and preventing it from focusing at all. About average exposure compensation required. Narrow coverage at wide angle isn't unusual, though, and some of the corner darkening is likely from the lens itself. We no longer test flash coverage at telephoto, as it is invariably better, making wide angle the worst case scenario. The Nikon P900's flash range is rated 11.5m or 37 feet at wide angle, and 7.0m or 22 feet at telephoto, with ISO sensitivity set to Auto. 37 feet is too long for our lab but at the 22 ft.The camera's metering system may have been influenced by the relatively large area taken up by black and white target at full telephoto, though, so this result is somewhat inconclusive. We shoot this test shot using the manufacturer-specified camera settings, at the range the company claims for the camera, to assess the validity of the specific claims. Contrast detail is now lost in our tricky red-leaf fabric swatch, which is typical for most all cameras as ISO rises, but it's still a nice print.https://danceofcyprus.com/images/carro-elevador-manual.pdf For anyone who routinely makes 8 x 10 inch prints, it would be advisable to limit your sensitivity setting to ISO 800 and below. Obviously for smaller prints and most online usage it's OK to let it go a stop or two higher, up to ISO 3200 if needed. Let your eyes be the ultimate judge! Amazon Customer 5.0 out of 5 stars I got the book regardless of the small amount of negative remarks. Some of the cons were the book was too technical. You do have to have some knowledge of how cameras operate and terms used. I personally thought the book is well written and easy to follow. I'm a hands on learner. I used the book along with my camera. The book seems like a LOT of reading, but the camera isn't a easy camera to get to know. There is a lot going on with this camera. It is way more than just point and shoot. Some of my frustrations that I couldn't figure out with the camera is in the book. It explained clearly that I could understand. I suggest you read the intro and the first couple of chapters to get the lay of the camera. Then you can use the table of contents to jump around if you need or maybe you are like me just want to figure out how the heck do I set the camera up to take particular picture. I haven't read all the book yet, but what I have read I have found it very informative. I recommend the book, but remember it will help to have some understanding of the terms used. If you don't this can assist you to learn them. I have yet to see any cons. When I need to refer to a manual, I want an old school hard copy. This serves the purpose very well. Eventually I may learn all about the P900 but until then, I will schlep this around. I love the large format book style, so much easier to read for quick reference. If you spend the money on a P900, don't skimp, buy this too. UPDATE Aug 2018: I've owned this book for almost a year now and I STILL refer back to this manual when I can't figure out how to do something. Did I mention its got a great index. Nikon should just pay the author and include this with every P900!Not only that, but it is a lot more clear and precise than the official manual. Alexander White also includes information about the Nikon P900 that you won't even find in the Nikon Manual. One Example Is: White informs the reader that the P900 does not have the Infrared Blocking Filter, which many cameras have. So, it is possible to do infrared photography with the addition of an add-on filter which blocks all light except infrared light. You wouldn't know that without this book. White also writes in a way that is easy to read and understand, while still not over-simplifying.How you gonna lug a computer around with your camera stuff. Well, all the information about this massively flexible camera is included in Mr. White's book. Particularly in the beginning, I found it hard to follow. For some reason, he begins with short discussions of the camera as it comes out of the box with enough settings to go out the door and shoot. But he does not really explore the entire setup menu until something like chapter 7. I would have moved it up much closer to the beginning. His chapters on the menus and features, once he got going, were really comprehensive and well-covered. There is really not any other choice at this point, so if you are looking for a comprehensive manual that covers the mammoth features and the few questionable decisions Nikon made (no raw files, apparent restriction on panoramas to only wide angle, for example). So while not the best organized camera book I have read and not the easiest to follow, this really does cover everything and earns the five stars, I think. Occasionally he does explain why, but, for the most part, this information is missing. This is in contrast to David Busch's books that always explain why he recommends his settings. Otherwise, this is a great book and essential for shooters who want to be able to make use of the amazing features of this amazing camera. So complex that it doesn't come with an owners manual. This book Is really laid out well. Each camera function is described in an easy to understand manner. I have had my P900 for about 6 weeks now and I am still struggling with all the camera settings. I have been an amateur photographer for over 50 years and this camera is almost more than I can handle. Mr. White and this book are an absolute must have companion for this camera. If you are going to buy a P900, you must (MUST) buy this book, otherwise you will be lost and frustrated. The camera is a mighty fine camera too. It's for serious shooters. The guide that comes with the camera is useless, for the most part. You would think Nikon could do better guides for their cameras. This guide convinced me. I recently purchased this camera and this guide is a great teaching tool. Not only does the author explain the camera well, it is also a pretty good photo lesson. I was a photographer in the Marine Corps some years ago and continued to shoot a lot over the years but I still had a lot to learn about digital photography technology and this guide answered many questions for me. Buy this. You won't be disappointed.I am an old-school photographer and when digital came along, I settled for Auto and a zoom lens. However, my daughter-in-law recently drew my attention to the P900 and showed me the fantastic photos she was taking as a complete novice (and I mean really great photos). Having bought the camera, I felt daunted by the instructions and complexity I felt the camera had, but this book has been my saviour. It has helped me to great results and even special effects such as time-lapse, with its easy-to-follow instructions. If you have the P900 you must buy this book. It's a long time since I've done any photography and cameras have become quite complicated, in fact I felt out of my depth with the camera. I made myself read a little of this book each day and tried to do something different each day from what I'd read. It wasn't long before things started to sink in. The only thing I found disappointing was the poor colour quality of the pictures inside. It is, though, a good book to keep referring back to and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is just starting out with the P900 and doesn't have much confidence with the camera, this book will soon change that.I enjoy travel, nature and love hunting out interesting things to shoot, like old houses, junk cars and the like. This camera is absolutely ideal for the beginner to intermediate photographer. Alexander Whites book really opens up the amazing possibilities and features this camera has. It is well written, extensively illustrated and has everything the beginner-intermediate photographer will need to start taking well composed and structured shots. The appendix and accessory sections are excellent also. Highly recommended purchase for the p900 enthusiast, avoid 'other' cheaper publications. The reviews don't lie, you get what you pay for.Worth every penny, Do not overlook downloading too, the manual from Nikon site, there is also an important update on the Nikon websiteBecause of this I feel the price I paid was a excessive for the subsequent loss of photographic quality.Page 1 of 1 Start over Page 1 of 1 Previous page Next page. The camera and your smart device create the connection. This is because digital cameras utilise larger image sensors, and powerful image processing engines. The camera’s sensor is designed to give you a higher resolution, wider dynamic range, and the ability to shoot in low light and use high ISOs—all of which allow for the generation of high quality images. Nikon digital cameras also utilise great NIKKOR lenses, as well as many features and accessories that allow you to be creative with your photography. This is because the larger the file size, the longer it will take to travel from the camera to the device, so it is suggested that you use JPG rather than NEF. If you're shooting images that will only be displayed digitally, you can go ahead and set your camera to record smaller size files. This can be accessed via the settings menu in the app. What’s really fun is that you actually see the same image the camera sees on your smart device —allowing you to shoot at precisely the right moment that you want. (Check your camera's user manual to see if your camera has this capability.) You can also share video with Nikon DSLRs. Connecting this way is the quickest and easiest because it is an unencrypted connection. For step-by-step instructions on setting up those types of connections, please see your camera's User's Manual. Upon selecting the “Take Pictures Remotely” option in the app, Live View is started automatically, allowing you to now see on your smart device what the camera sees. Newer models will have an external Wi-Fi button (on some older models; select Wi-Fi in the setup menu). It will begin with Nikon, followed by a string of letters and numbers. For Android, once you initially make this network connection, your device will automatically connect when you enable the camera's Wi-Fi. For iOS users, you'll have to perform this step each time you wish to use the wireless feature of your Nikon camera with your smartphone. Now you can view or take photos. The Wi-Fi settings can be found in the set up menu. Once connected the icon will stop flashing or blinking. For iOS users, go to “Settings” on your phone, into the Wi-Fi settings and select the Network SSID. It begins with the name Nikon followed by a string of letters and numbers. Once you’ve selected the Network SSID, you can open the Nikon Wireless Mobile Utility app on the smart device, as the connection is now established. (Shown is the settings screen from an iPhone 5 running iOS 7). The plant supplies liquid refrigerant to the evaporators to maintain the refrigerated spaces listed below at the temperature indicated. One compressor can handle the entire load with the other compressor remaining as standby or, if necessary, being using to operate the auxiliary water chiller.Officer's mess 14.5 cu.ft. Crew's mess 14.5 cu.ft. Crew's pantry 14.5 cu.ft. Dispensary 4.0 cu. ft. Club bar box 1.0 cu. ft.These units supply R-12 to two evaporator coils located on either side of the machinery space. The higher temperature compartments are provided with ceiling suspended type cold diffusers which contain a direct expansion cooling coil constructed of copper finned tubing enclosed in a galvanized casing with a drip pan. Each cold air diffuser has a propeller type fan mounted at the rear of the unit. The system is a closed loop. Water from the potable water system is either pumped directly into the system, or is directed to an insulated cooler located on the refrigeration flat, port side. After the water has passed through the cooler and it mixes with the returning water from a recirculating pump; it is then discharged throughout the ship. From the main refrigeration system, liquid Freon may go through a hand expansion valve to the cooler. It may also pass through a liquid line dryer, an electrically operated solenoid, which senses cooler outlet temperature, and finally to the thermostatic expansion valve to the cooler. After the Freon has cooled the water, it passes through a back pressure regulator and continues back to the main system. When mixed, it is referred to as ice water. The pump is a single stage centrifugal pump that can produce 25 gpm. The compressor has a cast iron crankcase and is provided with a structural steel base. The capacity is reduced with reduction in suction pressure. The refrigerant vapor is admitting to the shell and condenses on the outer surface of the finned tubes. The condenser is constructed of a steel shell with copper nickel tubes and tube sheets and gun metal waterheads. The condenser water regulating valve should be set to maintain a condensing pressure of approximately 125 psig. It collects the liquid refrigerant draining from the condenser. The shell is provided with one refrigerant inlet and two outlet connections and a magnetic float type indicator for determining the liquid level. Suction gas circulates through the tubes of the heat exchanger while liquid refrigerant passes through the shell. The cold suction gas cools the warm liquid refrigerant, thus, increasing the efficiency and capacity of the system. A bypass valve is provided in the liquid line to the interchanger. These are only on the forward units. Thus, their dual function is; automatic expansion control and prevention of liquid refrigerant from surging back to the compressor. The low pressure control stops and starts the compressor at the proper predetermined suction pressures. These two controls are contained in one switch box called the dual pressurestat. There is a strainer screen located within the regulator that must be periodically serviced to insure proper operation. This dryer is to be used only when charging refrigerant or for freezing the system of moisture. If the system is properly purged and dehydrated when first installed and then operated with caution, it will be necessary to use the dryer only when charging. This valve can be used whenever any of these parts are shut down for service or repair. The hand expansion valve must be carefully throttled to supply sufficient refrigerant to the cooling coil without flooding liquid refrigerant back to the compressor. This prevents an excessive difference between compartment temperature and the refrigerant temperature in the cooling coil. A gauge connection is provided on each regulator for use in adjusting. By-pass valves are provided so that the regulators can be cut-out of the circuit during initial temperature pull down or low temperature operation.
