Then you'll like the clock's large, easy-to-find snooze bar. The clock provides convenient 1-touch radio tuning, with 18 auto-setting presets: 12 for FM and 6 for AM stations. The tuner always remembers the last station selected before the radio was switched off. Fall asleep to your favorite station with the unit's programmable sleep timer (up to 90 minutes). A 4-line, backlit LCD includes a 3-position brightness control. The clock also comes with Sure Alarm battery backup--just install 2 AAA batteries (not included) to activate the feature. In the event of a power failure, or if you disconnect the AC power cord to move the clock, the Sure Alarm system will maintain your clock and alarm settings for the life of the batteries, ensuring that the alarms will sound at the set time (while operating on battery power, the alarms will sound only as buzzer). What's in the Box Clock, FM wire antenna, and a user's manual with warranty information.During World War I, Waterbury began making wristwatches, which had only just become popular, and in 1933 it made history by creating the first Mickey Mouse clock under license from Walt Disney, with Mickey's hands pointing the time. During World War II, Waterbury renamed itself U.S. Time Company. In 1950 the company introduced a wristwatch called the Timex. The company later became Timex Corporation, then Timex Group and, to date, has sold over one billion watches. The company has remained very competitive and the Timex brand continues its dominance through present day. Its primary market remains the United States and Canada, although the Timex brand is sold worldwide due to its ability to capitalize on its strong brand image and reputation for quality. One of the most successful and important features available on many Timex watches is the Indiglo backlight system. Indiglo is a brand name of Indiglo Corporation, solely owned by Timex for licensing purposes.http://chheanghout.com/sws/imgs/98-dodge-neon-manual-transmission-for-sale.xml Timex electroluminescent lamps, branded Indiglo, were introduced in 1992 in the Ironman watch line. They were an immediate success. The Indiglo lamp uniformly lights the surface of the Timex’s watch dials in a manner that makes the dial read very easily in many different light settings. In some newer watches the Indiglo backlight only lights up the numbers, rather than the entire LCD display, which is achieved by means of a specialized film that inverts the LCD transmissivity. Today, Timex Group products are manufactured in the Far East and in Switzerland often based on technology that continues to be developed in the United States and in Germany. With a large and varied line of watches, Timex has the style for everyone. From the locker room to the board room, there is a great Timex style time-piece for you. Lande 5.0 out of 5 stars He really wanted a dual-alarm clock that had separate settings for weekdays and weekends. He also wanted one he could read at night without putting on his glasses. This clock does both and does them beautifully. It's a very intuitive design - I didn't even need to read the directions in order to set it up. I literally plugged it into the wall and the clock set itself to the correct time. The clockface is easy to read at night. The radio works well and the whole unit takes up only about 4 square inches of space on the nightstand. It's a great unit and we are both very pleased! It works great, aside from occasionally screwing up on the daylight savings time. The dual alarms are perfect and easy to turn on and off without having to reset for the following day and the clock itself is compact so it doesn't take up a lot of space on the nightstand.http://www.diamondsinthemaking.com/content/bose-headphones-manualFM sounds great! And the auto time set is great. Now we use this one as the standard by which to set all the other clocks in the house. The instructions are unclear, would not recommend this item.It works much like other alarm clocks - push and hold to get a flashing display which you can then set to the desired time. It really is relatively easy. Under the flap on top there are 2 buttons, one for each of the alarms. One is for the buzzer alarm. One is for the radio alarm. As stated, push and hold to set a time. So whether the alarm is set (on) or not set (off), the time you last set it for is remembered. Thus all I have to do to turn on my alarm on a Sunday evening is push the button, and it is set. I generally keep one alarm set for 6am which I use during the weekdays, and the other for 8am for the weekends. I never have to adjust the times unless I need to wake earlier on any given day. On top is a large snooze button and a smaller OFF button. This is the button you press to stop the alarm each morning. And when you stop the alarm, it is automatically still set for the next day and the next day etc. The buzzer is a regular single beep beep beep. The radio is which ever station you want. Did I get it for the audio quality? No. It's an inexpensive clock radio. I DID get it for the blue dimmable display. It has 3 Levels of display - Bright, which is too bright for me. Medium, which doesn't glow through my eyelids but is still a little too bright for when I look at the clock at night. And Low. Low is perfect. It emits a dim soft blue glow which is easy on the eyes at night. No USB port but that's fine with me. Love this clock. Love the display. And yes I do know where the buttons are so I can set it in the dark if I need to. It really ISN'T complicated. If you are among the thousands of us, health care workers and the like, who don't get every weekend off, it's not designed for you.http://ferienwohnung-dorsten.com/images/canadian-forces-drum-major-manual.pdf You have to manually adjust every different wake time, running up or down through all the minutes. Incredibly, it has no off-switch. If you wake up before the alarm goes off, you can't disable it. You have to wait for it to buzz, then turn it off. That's just plain annoying. UPDATE: OK, I have had this thing a few weeks now, and I have learned some new things about it. If you want to turn it off before it alarms, find the secret buttons under the little door, figure out which one is which, and turn off the alarm. Make it 2 stars. And then, 3 weeks later, it WILL advance an hour (following the old rules) and you'll have to manually set it back an hour. If that doesn't matter to you, then it's a reasonably good product. The AAA batteries that YOU supply are to power the display and buzzer if the power goes out; the clock keeps time with the other battery that the manufacturer put into it. Look for our special GeoPacks that assure you have what you need to set up your students for success. Your students will be doing research on a number of topics. Often just a basic summary of places is all that is needed. When that information is in The Ultimate Guide its page number is provided in parenthesis. Summaries can also be found in encyclopedias, almanacs, and library books. The Ultimate Guide also has great mapping assignments and geography terms flash cards and glossary of geography terms that can be used throughout the school year. This is just a great all around book to use as a reference for directions on many topics such as: How do I decide between them? It also provides instructions on setting up your own unit studies in science, literature, and history. There are over 150 printable pages on the CD-ROM bound in the book. These include maps, timeline figures, scope and sequence check off, and more. It is great for those who love unit study approach and can plan their own with just a little guidance. When information in The Ultimate Guide is helpful, it is listed by page number. The Trail Guide to World Geography is the book of choice for those who do not want to make their own lesson plans, want to use an incorporating-geography approach, or want their students to make a geography notebook throughout the year. For the most part, once students are comfortable using an atlas they can work independently. However, 2nd-graders need to be reading and able to understand how to navigate the atlas. Use for 2nd-graders only if your student is reading independently, wants to do mapping, or loves atlases. Or great if you are teaching older students and want to include your younger student. Galloping the Globe is much more appropriate and engaging for the younger students. All students are studying the same topic, but doing assignments at their own academic level. Assignment choices range from research to art to making crossword puzzles, salt dough maps and keeping a geography notebook and much more. Choose assignments for each student that meets their learning style and interest and you'll have a great time learning together.Students will follow the same trail marking throughout the book. Students in grades 4 will begin to work independently as they become more familiar with how to use their atlas and they develop thinking skill to determine where to find answers. You will need to provide sufficient instructions on using their atlas and also a resource with geography terms (i.e. geographical terms chart or The Ultimate Geography and Timeline Guide) Some Q referring to geo-terms will not be answered from the atlas. Most students in grades 4 and up will be able to do all the mapping. For more ideas, activities and book lists for the younger group (K-4th grade) we highly recommend Galloping the Globe. Both books (GtG and Trail Guide) can be used together by studying the same continent at the same time. Be sure the student does enough of the assignment choices to warrant it. If you follow the secondary trail throughout the Points of Interest section you will be able to combine it with the High School level Conquering the Continents course in the Ultimate Geography and Timeline Guide. (It is referred to in the Trail Guide by page number when the added high school assignments should be done) Students will use outside resources to complete these assignments. We recommend Internet, library, or encyclopedia. The Encyclopedia of World Geography is a wonderful resource for the Trail Blazing assignments. The daily drills (Geography Trails) are written for 3 levels. You can use any of the remaining trails or levels for subsequent years as a simple geography moment each day to keep atlas usage and geoTerms fresh. Bell work will be vocabulary terms for the chapter we are in each week. Due to other Testing in History Class these dates may be moved. Students will be made aware if dates get changed. In this class we will study World Geography for the 2nd semester. Students will learn about the culture, climate, economy, and geography about the countries listed below for each chapter.. Weekly vocabulary quizes will also be given and as well as a chapter test. Chapters 1-4 will be combined together. It is a review of geography. Chapter 5 will begin the study of different countries. I look forward to teaching your child. Why We Created Pre-AP It includes the complete course framework, which defines what students should know and be able to do by the end of the course and serves as an anchor for model lessons and assessments as well as teacher planning. The course guide also provides a description of the Pre-AP approach to teaching and learning, assessment blueprints and examples, and requirements for Pre-AP course designation. The course explores the invisible structures and forces that shape and reflect the regions, communities, governments, economies, and cultures of humanity. These big ideas help students develop an organized and meaningful understanding of time and space. As historians and geographers uncover new evidence, current assumptions are challenged, and previous arguments and narratives gain complexity, nuance, and context. This course teaches students how to examine sources and data, establish inferences, and ultimately build and critique arguments. Learning in Pre-AP World History and Geography is designed to be a disciplinary apprenticeship where students participate in the process of discovery. Students will play the role of historian and geographer by practicing the detective skills and using the tools of each field of study. These areas of focus are vertically aligned to the practices embedded in other history and geography courses in high school, including AP, and in college, giving students multiple opportunities to strengthen and deepen their work with these skills throughout their educational career. This encourages a deep study of a few historical periods and provides an opportunity for schools to choose the pathway that is the best fit for their state standards and district course sequences. Model lessons and assessments are based on the selected pathway. These resources don’t constitute a full day-by-day curriculum. Instead, they provide support and modeling as teachers design instruction for each unit. This exam is optional. The increasing availability of customer databases for parent companies containing multimedia ad exposures, sales transactions in several purchase channels, and information across multiple retailer-brands now allows for a broader examination of advertising effectiveness. In this research, the authors monitor 4,000 customers over two years, linking their exposure to three media (email, catalogs, and paid search) to their in-store and online purchases for three retailer-brands in the clothing category. They develop a Tobit model for sales response to multimedia advertising that captures within-brand and within-channel correlations and accommodates individual-level advertising response parameters. Due to the very large number of observations (2.4 million) and random effects (60), the authors employ an emerging machine learning technique, variational Bayes, to estimate the model parameters. They find that email and sometimes catalogs from a focal retailer-brand have a negative influence on other retailer-brands in the category, whereas paid search influences only the focal retailer-brand. However, competitor catalogs often positively influence focal retailer-brand sales, but only among omnichannel customers. They segment customers by retailer-brand and channel usage, revealing a sizeable group of customers who shop across multiple retailer-brands and both purchase channels. Moreover, this segment is the most responsive to multimedia advertising.
