The difference being is that the lid is now locked for the entire cycle. A symbol of a padlock will be displayed on the when the lid lock is activated. This will enable the out of balance switch to be tested, as well as giving access to the Detailed Fault Codes and User Warning Faults. One of three displays will appear in the screen. Use the buttons on the bottom of the display screen to toggle between these displays. Pressing the HOW DIRTY up button will turn the hot water valve on. You need to hold the buttons down to keep the water entering the machine. This is also good to use when installing machines as it takes the shock out of the fittings and seals and allows checking for leaks on the inlet hoses, both machine end and tap or super-tub end. At the end of servicing, the machine may require an extended test where the machine can be left to complete a number of wash cycles. Components In Console Area (a) Remove the lid. ST AINED This is a special wash action that alternates washing with four short soaks to help remove stains from your garments (e.g. three minut es agitation, four minut es soak, three minutes ag itation etc). (Stained will use a medium soil level ag itation). This cycle is for general stains, if you have a specific stain (i.e., blood, grass, fruit, wine, chocolate or tomatoes) use the ST AINS LIFECY CLES. Auto sensing will sense the average fabric mix of your load and select the correct wash action to ensure the best wash r esults. CREASABLES D elicate garments often crease easily so they need a minimum amount of spinning at a very slow spin speed. CREASABLES will automatically change the rinse to a double deep rinse and select a shor t slow spin (300r pm) to minimise creasing. Selecting the CREASABLES option is not only for delicat e clothes, it can also be used to minimise the ir oning needed for any garment. WOOL Some fabrics require special car e, such as machine washable w oollens. These woollens have been specially tr eated so they can be washed in a washing machine.https://strongsib.info/ru/content/bose-freespace-51-speakers-manual (Ref er to W oollens page 27). The WOOL cy cle has been designed with a gentle wash, a spray and deep rinse and moderate spin (700 rpm) to care f or machine washable woollens. HANDW ASH HANDW ASH is an extra gentle wash for ver y delicate fabrics. This c ycle has been designed f or garments that you previously might ha ve been reluctant to put into a washing machine. HANDW ASH has a ver y gentle wash action; a double deep r inse and a ver y shor t slow spin (300 r pm). If you do not want to spin the clothes remember to select Drip Dr y. This small amount of sudsy water flows through the clothes, up a specially designed por tal and back onto the clothes in a cascade eff ect. This wash action thoroughly dissolves and activates the deter gent. The concentrated solution of deter gent and water rapidly targets stains and soils at the fibr e level, boosting soil r emoval and accelerating the wash process. Y our washer will then sense the average fabric t ype of the load and begin the agitation wash. A gitating massages the soil off the fibres and awa y from the clothes. Due t o its concentrated headstar t the clothes requir e less agitation than a conventional t op loader washer. Note: The detergent activating wash is the only time during the c ycle that hot water is used (when the machine is completely full the water will be lukewarm). I f you are wanting hot wat er in the agitation wash, you will need t o choose a TRADITIONAL wash in the OPTIONS m enu. (Refer to page 17). T o select an option use the ADJUST button. F or instance, you may want t o set your washer to always select a warmer wash temperature. 1 P ush the OPTIONS button. 2 Scroll thr ough the options until the screen you want is displayed. 3 Select the setting before the option y ou are wanting to change. Hold down the ADJUST butt on for 3 seconds. Y ou will hear a long beep and SE T TING SA VED will appear briefly on the screen. Y our preferred wash options will be automatically selected ever y time you turn your machine on and will be displayed on the home scr een. To change your customised options r epeat these above steps. A series of symbols are also displayed on the scr een to indicate what the washer is doing. (Refer to pa ge 9). Then use the Option ’ s arrows to scroll thr ough the options until the one you want is display ed. Pr ess ADJUST r epeat edly until the par t of the c ycle you want is highlighted. The PRE-W ASH option is a cold, 4 minut e pre -wash f or extra dir t y loads. The rinse type your washer chooses depends on the type of fabric you are washing and the options you hav e chosen. T r y using this option when you want to use less deter gent and less water. I f you have low wat er pressure or sensitive skin it is better to use the SA VE W A TER option. Neither of these save wat er options are designed to be used with fabric softener, as they do not have a second deep rinse to dispense the softener correctly. There are some loads that may not suit being washed using SA VE W A TER options. Use the ADJUST button t o choose how long y ou want your machine to delay f or. Note: Be careful if using DELA Y ST ART f or non- colour fast clothes that are damp as dyes ma y run. 5. Sav e Time SA VE TIME allows you to shor ten the wash cycle for lightly soiled clothes. Selecting this option r educes rinse, soak and spin times. T o save mor e time, reduce the wash time by decr easing the number of HOW DIRT Y lights. SA VE TIME can be tur ned on or off at any time during the cycle. 6. Soak W ill soak for 2 hours in the middle of the wash phase, then complete the rest of the cycle. During soak the machine will agitate f or a few seconds every minute. SOAK can be shortened to one hour if SA VE TIME is selected. The washer will beep and display a message to tell you that it is waiting f or another instruction. A s your machine fills it will pause occasionally to sense the water level. The machine will check if the water lev el is correct by using a series of 2 different ag itate strokes: a slow stroke to sense the load, and an agitat e stroke to mix the load (this may take over a minute). If it detects that the water level is not high enough it will fill with more water and r echeck the level. Y our washer may occasionally add water during agitation. This is to maintain the water level due to the r elease of air trapped in the garments. F or some loads you may want to manually select the water level. If y ou wish to choose your water lev el use the marks on the agitator to guide you. The mar k nearest to the top of the clothes indicat es the water level y ou should select. The levels marked on the agitator are a guide f or the dr y clothes and do not correspond exactly to the water level. Selecting a water level that is too high can cause out of balance loads, tangling or splash-over.T o unset the option repeat above st eps. Each movement is appr oximately 2?C. P ress HOME once the box with the number of degr ees you want to change the wash t emperature to is highlight ed. The boxes on the left side of the centre point decr ease the fill level and those box es on the r ight increase the fill level. Then press HOME. Note: If y ou feel ther e is not enough water for the load, we recommend y ou check by pausing the machine and pushing the clothes down to see how much spar e water is at the bottom of the bowl. Clothes often float and your washer can sense the wat er under the clothes. Hold down f or 2 seconds Y ou may wish to change the type of rinse selected f or a number of reasons. If you have a problem with impurities in your wat er supply you may get a better wash if you change the rinse option to 2 deep rinses. Scroll to the DEF A UL T RINSE screen. Select the r inse option you pref er. Shower rinse alternately showers the clothes with water and spins them t o remove the sudsy water. I t is not designed to be used with fabric softener, as a shower rinse does not use a deep r inse it cannot dispense fabric softener correctly. S4 Cr easable Spin Speed The Creasable fabric care option is desig ned with a slow spin speed (300 rpm). S5 Out of Balance Rec ov er y When your washer is spinning it can sense when the wash load is out of balance and will stop and retry spinning up to three times. If the machine still senses an unbalanced load there are two options the machine can take. Aut omatic Reco very Action Y our washer will tr y to aut omatically correct the out of balance load. I t will fill with water and agitate t o redistribute the load befor e tr ying to spin up again. Machine Stops Action Y our washer will stop, giv e a shor t burst of beeps ever y five seconds, and display a message to let y ou kn ow to redistribute the load mor e evenly yourself. (Use this option if you wish t o conser ve water). Y our machine arr ived, set t o the Machine Stops Action.L1 Fa v ourite C ycle The F avourite c ycle lets you desig n your ideal wash cycle. Y our F avourite cycle can include any wash option and it can star t from any point in the cycle. F or instance, it may be a cycle to wash y our gym gear or it may be a rinse and spin to rinse out swimsuits. To SA VE your F A VOURITE CY CLE Select your F avourite options (e.g. change soil level, wash t emperature etc). 1 Pr ess LIFECYLES. This c ycle is not recommended f or garments prone to colour run. Mud requir es a cold water wash with lots of dilution. The cold water is the key as washing in war m sets the mud stain. This cycle has a cold pre-wash followed by a cold wash with extra r inses to help get mud out of spor ts gear. This c ycle is also great f or cleaning up children ’ s washable toys. If your water sour ce contains gunk of any kind this c ycle will minimise the effects.CHOC OLA TE Chocolate is a complex mixture of fats, pr oteins and sugars. W e then incorporate a soak in with a warm wash to enable the enz ymes in the detergent t o break down both the prot eins and the fats. The c ycle is completed with a spray and deep rinse, and a fast spin. This is ac tually a greasy stain that takes a bit of wo rk to r emov e. An intermittent soaking procedure has been included to get the benefit of the deter gent with enz ymes. The following will finish off the pr ocess. IW512 uses a traditional agitation wash at the indicated temperatur e. MAX W ASH A heavy duty wash for really dirt y items like overalls. This c ycle is especially useful for small loads that r equire a vigor ous agitation. Care Labels Care labels will tell y ou about the fabric of the garment and how it should be washed. Soil Sor t clothes according to the type and amount of soil. Colour Sor t white fabrics from coloured fabrics (this av oids the possibility of colour run). Pre -tr eat any Stains F or a Balanced Load place unf olded clothes evenly ar ound the agitator. DO NOT wrap lar ge items, such as sheets, around the agitat or. A mix ture of small and large items will wash the best. Make Sure the W ater L evel Suits the L oad Size Using too much water can cause splashing and out of balance loads, using auto sensing can help prevent this. Loads that extend above the dispenser ma y also cause splashing. The fibres of these woollens have been tr eated to pr event felting when they ar e machine -washed. W ashing Bulky I tems Ma ke sure ther e is enough room in the machine f or items to move when being washed, as for cing large items into the machine may result in them being damaged during washing. If they sit too high they may touch stationary par ts of the machine during agitat e or spin. T o minimise the chance of this happening, bulky items should be pushed down below the wat er level after fill and pushed to sit below the medium high water lev el mark on the agitator bef ore spinning. DO NOT use y our autowasher to soak items in bleach or sanitiser, or tip the contents of the napp y bucket into your machine. R inse and wring items out thoroughly bef ore placing them in your machine. W ashing When Someone is I ll or has an I nfection How you wash can help prev ent re-infection or another member of the household catching the illness. It pays to separate the washing more, use warm or hot washes and use a little more detergent. A void leaving the washing sitting damp bef ore or after washing. If there is a lot of sun hang the clothes outside, other wise use your dr yer on the hottest setting the fabric can handle. Soap flakes, e.g. L ux Soap Flakes, or g ranulated soap powders should not be used. How Much Deter gent. The correct amount of detergent will var y depending on the amount of soil in your clothes; ( jeans and work clothes may need more det ergent, while tow els usually need less). The agitator has fiv e marks on its stem that indicate load size. Use the mark on the agitat or closest to the top of your load as a guide t o the size of your load. (Refer to the picture of the agitator on page 17). The instructions on the back of the detergent packet are a guide to the correct amount of detergent to use but r emember the larger your machine the mor e detergent y ou may need to add. The correct time to check if you are using the right amount of deter gent is about halfway through the agitation. There should be a thin lay er of foam over the surface of the water. L ots of foam during agitation means t oo much detergent has been used, while no foam means not enough detergent has been used and the soil and lint can settle back on the clothes or the washing machine. However, the foam is dissolved during the agitation wash and only a thin lay er of foam over the surface of the water should remain. T ablets: P lace the requir ed number of tablets down the centre of the agitator. (Do not use the bag provided with the tablet pr oducts). For low wat er level loads (i.e. washing 2 or 3 garments) do not place tablet down the agitator. Instead place the tablet directly into the machine befor e adding your clothes. During rinse the machine spins to release the fabric softener, delivering it down the agitator stem as the machine fills for the final deep rinse. How much F abric Softener. The ring on the dispenser cup is a guide for the amount of fabric softener to add for a full load. Smaller loads require less fabric softener. S crud Scrud is the name given t o the waxy build-up that can occur within any washer when the fabric softener comes into contact with detergent. This build-up is not brought about by a fault in the machine. If scrud is allowed to build-up in the machine it can result in stains on y our clothes or an unpleasant smell in your washer. Pu sh cup through dispenser with thumb To r emove cup Clean the fabric softener dispenser r egularly using warm soapy water. Y ou can remove the lid for cleaning. Open the lid fully, grasp the lid on both sides. Lift in an upward motion, as shown below. T o replace the lid, hold the lid vertically and align both hinges befor e slotting back into place. To r emove the agitator, remov e the fabric sof tener dispenser and unscrew the nut down the centr e of the agitator by turning anti- clock wise. The agitator must be fully pushed on to the shaf t when refitting. Tighten the nut firmly by hand. Ensure the agitat or is not loose. CA UTION! Th e agitator must be fully pushed onto the shaft when refitting. T ighten the plastic nut firmly by hand. Ensure the agita tor is not loose. Cleaning the Inside of Y our W asher If y ou use fabric softener or only do cold water washes, it is important that you occasionally clean the inside of your machine. I t automatically separates the lint from the wash water as it washes. The lint becomes trapped between the inner and outer bowls and is flushed out at the end of the wash. This may sound like several low thuds. Y our machine is check ing there is enough water in the bowl bef ore ag itating and that the water has drained bef ore spinning. During drain your washer will turn the pump off and on about ever y 10 seconds. T his is to help prevent f oreig n objec ts getting caught in the pump. Beeps Y our washer will beep at the end of the c ycle and if you have used Drip Dr y or Pre-wash. If your machine is beeping continuously or g iving a musical series of beeps refer t o page 33. Pr oduc ts That M ight Damage Y our Auto washer C oncentrated bleaches, nappy sanitisers, some pre-treatment products and hydr ocarbon solvents (e.g. petrol and paint thinners) can cause damage to the paintwork and components of your autowasher. Be careful when washing garments stained with these solvents, as they are flammable. DO NO T put them in your dryer. Use of dyes in your auto washer may cause staining of the plastic components. The dye will not damage the machine but we suggest you thor oughly clean your autowasher afterwards. W e do not recommend the use of dye strippers in your aut owasher. Some pre-treatment sprays or liquids can damage your auto washer ’ s control panel and plastic components, so do not use these pr oducts on or around your autowasher. Y ou can cor rect many of your machine ’ s problems using the checklists on the following pages. Y our machine is capable of diagnosing its own problems and if it has a problem it will beep and display a message telling you what is wr ong. Ensure the machine is stationary and manually redistribute the load. Check machine is level. (See Installations Instruc tions page 5). “I am not getting any HO T W A TER” Hot water supply is not hot enough to maintain the wash temperatur e you hav e selected. Select a lower wash temperature. I nlet hose screens may be blocked. There may be a kink in the hose (ref er to page 5). Hot tap has not been turned on. I nlet hoses connected to the wrong taps. The flow rate of the supply water is too slow. “I am not getting any C OLD W A TER” C old tap has not been turned on. C old water temperatur e exceeds recommended limits. (See Installation I nstructions page 6). The flow rate of the supply water is too slow. The hoses may be kink ed (refer t o page 5). The drain hose is too low or the drain hose is pushed into the standpipe too far and the wat er is siphoning out of the machine. (See Installations Instruc tions page 4). The flow rate of the supply water is too slow. “I am OVERL O ADED” The machine is overloaded and can not agitate. Ensure the machine is stationary. Select a higher water level or remov e items until the remaining ones can move fr eely. Check the machine is not siphoning (ref er to page 4). “I hav e T OO MAN Y SUDS” The machine has a suds build-up. ( T oo much det ergent may hav e been used for the amount of soil in the load). SMALL PUDDLE of water c oming fr om under the machine. The water level is too high f or the amount of clothes. This has caused excessive splashing r esulting in water spilling onto the floor. Use a lower water level. Manually select the water level to suit the load size.Select CREASABLES as this will change the rinse and selec t a slower, shor ter spin speed. Or change the fast spin speed from 1000 rpm to 700 rpm (Refer t o Max Spin Speed page 17). Do not leave wet clothes to sit in the washer or laundry bask et. POOR SOIL REMOV AL. Not enough detergent f or load size or amount of soil on the clothes. Ov er-loading the washer. I ncrease the level selected on the HOW DIRT Y option. Select the wash temperature according t o soil type. F or example, blood and mud ar e better washed in cold water, while oily soils wash better in warmer water. Separate light and heavily soiled items, as clothes can pick up soil from dirt y wash water. L oads made up of articles of var ying sizes will wash bett er (e.g. full loads of sheets ma y not wash as well). Hard wat er areas requir e more deter gent. BLA CK or GRA Y M ARKS on clothes. A build-up caused by the interaction of fabric sof tener and deter gent can flake off and mar k clothes, (r efer to Scrud page 30). Not enough detergent f or the amount of soil on the clothes, can r esult in grey marks on clothes, (r efer to Deter gent on page 28 and 29). LINTING. W ash lint g ivers e.g. towels, flannelette sheets, separat ely from lint collectors e.g. synthetics. Ov erloading the washer. Not enough detergent t o hold the lint in suspension. Ov er-dr ying in a dryer can cause a build-up of static elec tricit y in synthetic fabrics and cause them to attract lint. Are you using the SA VE W A TER option. RESIDUE DETERGENT. Ov erloading the washer. Some detergents need t o be pre - dissolved, check the det ergent instructions. De ter gent may not dissolve pr operly in cold ambient temperatures, cold washes or short agitation times. T ry pre - dissolving the detergent. DY E TRANSFER. W ash and dry non- colour fast clothes separately. Non colour fast clothes lef t sitting in a washer or laundr y bask et can transfer dy e to other clothes. T ANGLING. W ashing with t oo much water (i.e. under -loading) can cause the clothes to tangle. Do not load the washer by wrapping clothes around the agitator.
