The cost of repair (replacement of cracked and now discontinued condenser coil) was quoted to be 3 week lead special order at 50 of the newer and 20-22 more efficient 16 SEER unit. Evaporator core in the airhandler (furnace) had to be replaced because the old system was running on R-22 refrigerant and all new ones run on R-410A. Looked at perfectly matching Lennox unit EL16XC1 (and it came in at 5.3 cheaper), however, based on existing relationship with local Amana dealer decided to stay with the brand and it's newer product line for their post sales customer support and fast emergency service response times. So two warranty issues in less than a year. It does cool well but is somewhat noisy compared to my Rheem unit that I still have for 2nd floor. Now looking to replace my Rheem unit due to age but probably going to spend the extra and go Trane. Full install. I'm happy I made this purchaseThis was the only reasonable manual thermostat and I was told that if you have a Coleman-Mach, you MUST use a Coleman-Mach replacement or face rewiring issues etc. This one comes with excellent instructions, but essentially was 6 colored wires which were almost the same as the old. Backplate used same screw holes as the old one. Vendor sent it out immediately and it is working correctly and I am very happy. This should work on most older units and if you order here, it is a lot cheaper than ordering from the RV companies, most of whom don'e even carry this thermostat. I considered buying a second one just in case, but hopefully I won't be living in this trailer such a long time that this one will fail! Good deal!Controls heat and ac.Mounting back plate didn't line up with old hole, but redrilled new hole and fit perfectly over old Coleman Thermo. Many of you looking to resolve your heater not connecting to fire up, disconnect old unit and take back cover off. You will see the 2 switches, one getting worn out sometimes on, and then never on. Replaced sail switch, relay, and limit switch (that is hidden deep inside, requires total removal) then found out the problem. Its all new again hopefully another 20 years.After 20 years our old thermostat gave up. They don’t make the style that was in the old Rv any more but this one worked great.I’m very happy with my purchase.Heat and AC work right all the time now. Step one was figuring out how to get the 90 pound unit on the roof. This particular project all came down to our furry feline friend, Harley. Like most truck campers, we avoid extreme heat whenever possible. That said, there are times when we need to stay put in temperatures above ninety degrees. For example, when we’re touring a factory, or attending a summer truck camper rally. Heat happens. While we can escape the heat inside an air conditioned building or drink cold water in nothing more than T-shirts and shorts, our cat Harley does not have these options.
