If you are wanting to learn enough to start working on your car without ruining stuff inside it. This is the way to go. I recommend it.I think that watching credible youtubers (Eric Car Guy, Chris Fixx, Schroedinger, The Trainer), taking notes and practicing with a multimeter is probably a much more efficient way to learn practical skills.One area I would like to see expanded is detail on crimping open barrel connectors, more specific, how the jaws work to roll the crimp and what specific tool size, i.e. 24-14, would be needed for a typical rewire job.It was a mystery to me what happened there but with the help of this great book from Haynes my truck is no longer under 'voodoo magic' fit only for the high priced wizards at the Ford shop. I would still take one of those very hard to understand problems that pop up then go away. I can't even start to understand them even the tech at my local Ford dealer ship has trouble with it, but this is a great book and helped to get me there. Close (turn on) all switches in series with the circuit you are troubleshooting. Operate the short finder. The short finder will pulse current to the short. This creates a pulsing magnetic field surrounding the circuit wiring between the fuse panel and the short. Beginning at the fuse panel, slowly move the short finder meter along the circuit wiring. The meter will show current pulses through the sheet metal and body trim. As long as the meter is between the fuse block and the short, the needle will move with each current pulse. When you have moved the meter past the point of the short, the needle will stop moving. Examine the wiring in that area for the short to ground and repair as needed. Once the soil is sufficiently warmed up, you can cut a foot wide hole in the plastic, and plant your tomato (using my planting method outlined above). You can keep the plastic on top of the soil the entire season, however, at some point, when the weather turns hot (like in mid June), you MUST cover the plastic with a mulch, otherwise it will overheat your soil and your plants will suffer. I like to use a straw mulch on top of the plastic, because it's attractive, cheap, and effective.Set the seedling at the bottom of the pot and backfill up to the top leaves. Move your gallon pots into sunlight in the morning and into a heated structure at night. By the time it is warm enough to plant, you will have a bigger, happier, plant to put in the ground.
