fiat ducato a service manualThe sudden movement could startle and confuse you, or make you push a pedal when you do not want to. To raise the seat, move the lever upward repeatedly until the seat is at the desired height. To lower the seat, move the lever downward repeatedly until the seat is at the desired height. To increase support, press and hold the front of the control. To decrease support, press and hold the rear of the control. The sudden movement could startle and confuse you, or make you push a pedal when you do not want to. Even when buckled up, the safety belts cannot do their job when reclined like this. The shoulder belt cannot do its job because it will not be against your body. This position reduces the chance of a neck injury in a crash. Pull the head restraint up to raise it. To lower the head restraint, press the button, located on the top of the seatback,. CAUTION: If you fold the seatback forward to carry longer objects, such as skis, be sure any such cargo is not near an airbag.See Manual Seats on page 1-2 for more information. The head restraint may need to be removed if the seat is not able to be moved fully rearward. CAUTION: If either seatback is not locked, it could move forward in a sudden stop or crash. That could cause injury to the person sitting there. Do not let the safety belt get caught between the seatback and seat cushion as the seatback is folded. 5. Pull up on the knob located on the top of the seatback on the outboard side to release the seatback. The person wearing the belt could be seriously injured. After raising the rear CAUTION: (Continued) 1-12 CAUTION: (Continued) It also describes some things not to do with safety belts. CAUTION: Do not let anyone ride where a safety belt cannot be worn properly. Put someone on it. Take the simplest vehicle. Suppose it is just a seat on wheels. 1-14. The rider does not stop. The person keeps going until stopped by something. In a real vehicle, it could be the windshield. 1-15.http://circuitoinsulargc.com/documentos/cal-spas-escape-manual.xml

With safety belts, you slow down as the vehicle does. You get more time to stop. You stop over more distance, and your strongest bones take the forces. That is why safety belts make such good sense. You could be — whether you are wearing a safety belt or not. But your chance of being conscious during and after an accident, so you can unbuckle and get out, is much greater if you are belted. Be aware that there are special things to know about safety belts and children. And there are different rules for smaller children and infants. If a child will be riding in the vehicle, see Older Children on page 1-32 or Infants and Young Children on page 1-35. The shoulder belt is too loose. It will not give as much protection this way. CAUTION: You can be seriously hurt if your shoulder belt is too loose. In a crash, you would move forward too much, which could increase injury. The lap belt is too loose. It will not give nearly as much protection this way. 1-20 CAUTION: You can be seriously hurt if your lap belt is too loose. In a crash, you could slide under the lap belt and apply force on your abdomen. The belt is buckled in the wrong buckle. CAUTION: You can be seriously injured if your belt is buckled in the wrong place like this. In a crash, the belt would go up over your abdomen. The belt forces would be there, not on the pelvic bones. The belt is over an armrest. 1-22 CAUTION: You can be seriously injured if your belt goes over an armrest like this. The belt would be much too high. In a crash, you can slide under the belt. The belt force would then be applied on the abdomen, not on the pelvic bones, and that could cause serious or fatal injuries. The shoulder belt is worn under the arm. It should be worn over the shoulder at all times. CAUTION: You can be seriously injured if you wear the shoulder belt under your arm. In a crash, your body would move too far forward, which would increase the chance of head and neck injury. The belt is behind the body.http://www.djvandinho.com/userfiles/cal-spa-service-manual.xml 1-24 CAUTION: You can be seriously injured by not wearing the lap-shoulder belt properly. In a crash, you would not be restrained by the shoulder belt. Your body could move too far forward increasing the chance of head and neck injury. The belt is twisted across the body. CAUTION: You can be seriously injured by a twisted belt. In a crash, you would not have the full width of the belt to spread impact forces. The following instructions explain how to wear a lap-shoulder belt properly. 1. Adjust the seat, if the seat is adjustable, so you can sit up straight. To see how, see “Seats” in the Index. 2. It may be necessary to pull stitching on the safety belt through the latch plate to fully tighten the lap belt on smaller occupants. To unlatch the belt, push the button on the buckle. The belt should return to its stowed position. Adjust the height so that the shoulder portion of the belt is centered on the shoulder. The belt should be away from the face and neck, but not falling off the shoulder. Here is how to install a comfort guide to the safety belt: 1. Pull the elastic cord out from between the edge of the seatback and the interior body to remove the guide from its storage clip. The elastic cord must be under the belt and the guide on top. CAUTION: A safety belt that is not properly worn may not provide the protection needed in a crash. The person wearing the belt could be seriously injured. Like all occupants, they are more likely to be seriously injured if they do not wear safety belts. A pregnant woman should wear a lap-shoulder belt, and the lap portion should be worn as low as possible, below the rounding, throughout the pregnancy. An older child should wear a lap-shoulder belt and get the additional restraint a shoulder belt can provide. The shoulder belt should not cross the face or neck.Never allow a child to wear the safety belt with the shoulder belt behind their back. A child can be seriously injured by not wearing the lap-shoulder belt properly.http://schlammatlas.de/en/node/16409 In a crash, the child would not be restrained by the shoulder belt. This includes infants and all other children. Neither the distance traveled nor the age and size of the traveler changes the need, for everyone, to use safety restraints. In fact, the law in every state in the United States and in every Canadian province says children up to some age must be restrained while in a vehicle. Never hold an infant or a child while riding in a vehicle. Due to crash forces, an infant or a child will become so heavy it is not possible to hold it during a crash.Never put a rear-facing child restraint in the right front seat. Secure a rear-facing child restraint in a rear seat. Add-on child restraints, which are purchased by the vehicle’s owner, are available in four basic types. Selection of a particular restraint should take into consideration not only the child’s weight, height, and age but also whether or not the restraint will be compatible with the motor vehicle in which it will be used. Instead, it may settle up around the child’s abdomen. In a crash, the belt would apply force on a body area that is unprotected by any bony structure. A booster seat can also help a child to see out the window. Secure the child restraint properly in the vehicle using the vehicle’s safety belt or LATCH system, following the instructions that came with that child restraint and the instructions in this manual. We recommend that children and child restraints be secured in a rear seat, including: an infant or a child riding in a rear-facing child restraint;. When securing a child restraint in a rear seating position, study the instructions that came with your child restraint to make sure it is compatible with this vehicle. There are two lower anchors for each LATCH seating position that will accommodate a child restraint with lower attachments (B). 1-44 Top Tether Anchor A top tether (A, C) anchors the top of the child restraint to the vehicle.http://www.indianantique.com/images/brother-p-touch-extra-pt-330-manual.pdf Others require the top tether always to be attached. In Canada, the law requires that forward-facing child restraints have a top tether, and that the tether be attached. To assist you in locating the top tether anchors, this symbol will be located on the lower side quarter panels for the rear outboard positions, on the storage. In a crash, the child could be seriously injured or killed. Install a LATCH-type child restraint properly using the anchors, or use the vehicle’s safety belts to secure the restraint, following the instructions that came. This may damage these parts. If necessary, move buckled safety belts to avoid rubbing the LATCH attachments. Do not fold the empty rear seat with a safety belt buckled. Be sure to use an anchor located on the same side of the vehicle as the seating position where the child restraint will be placed. Securing a Child Restraint in a Rear Seat Position When securing a child restraint in a rear seating position,. When installing a forward-facing child restraint, it may be helpful to use your knee to push down on the child restraint as you tighten the belt. A rear seat is a safer place to secure a forward-facing child restraint. See Where to Put the Restraint on page 1-42. In addition, the vehicle has a passenger sensing system which is designed to turn off the right front passenger frontal airbag under certain conditions. If you secure a forward-facing child restraint in the right front seat, always move the front passenger seat as far back as it will go. It is better to secure the child restraint in a rear seat. Position the release button on the buckle so that the safety belt could be quickly unbuckled if necessary. When installing a forward-facing child restraint, it may be helpful to use your knee to push down on the child restraint as you tighten the belt. Airbags are designed to work with safety belts, but do not replace them.http://exactblue.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1628d414dee0e5---cardo-systems-scala-500-bluetooth-headset-manual.pdf Airbags plus lap-shoulder belts offer protection for adults and older children, but not for young children and infants. Neither the vehicle’s safety belt system nor its airbag system is designed for them. The driver’s frontal airbag is in the middle of the steering wheel. The right front passenger’s airbag is in the instrument panel on the passenger’s side. 1-61. A roof-rail airbag is intended to deploy on the side of the vehicle that is struck or if the sensing system predicts that the vehicle is about to roll over. Some components of the airbag module may be hot for several minutes. The driver airbag and roof-rail airbags (if equipped) are not affected by the passenger sensing system. The passenger sensing system works with sensors that are part of the right front passenger seat. See “Safety Belts” and “Child Restraints” in the Index for additional information about the importance of proper restraint use. See Passenger Airbag Status Indicator on page 3-31.See “Safety Belts” and “Child Restraints” in the Index for additional information about the importance of proper restraint use. If you have questions, call Customer Assistance. The phone numbers and addresses for Customer Assistance are in Step Two of the Customer Satisfaction Procedure in this manual. A damaged restraint system may not properly protect the person using it, resulting in serious injury or even death in a crash. To help make sure your restraint systems are working properly after a crash, have them inspected and any necessary replacements made as soon as. They could operate the power windows or other controls or even make the vehicle move. The windows will function with the keys in the ignition and children could be seriously injured or killed if caught in the path of a closing window. Store this information in a safe place, not in your vehicle. (Lock): Press to lock all the doors. Programming Transmitters to the Vehicle Only RKE transmitters programmed to the vehicle will work. This feature allows you to start the engine from outside the vehicle. It may also start the vehicle’s heating or air conditioning systems. See Climate Control System on page 3-21 for additional information. Laws in some local communities may restrict the use of remote starters. When a door is locked, the handle will not open it. The chance of being thrown out of the vehicle in a crash is increased if the doors are not locked. If any door is open when locking the vehicle, three chimes will sound signaling that the delayed locking feature is active. On vehicles with this feature, the rear door security locks are located on the inside edge of each rear door. You must open the rear doors to access them. Be sure to remove the key from the ignition when locking your vehicle. The lockout protection can be overridden by pressing and holding the power door lock in the lock position for three seconds. Engine exhaust contains Carbon Monoxide (CO) which cannot be seen or smelled. The lever is located about three inches (7.62 cm) behind the trim in the access hole. Push the release lever rearward. 4. The liftgate will unlatch when the lever is pushed rearward. Push the liftgate to open. 5. Reinstall the trim plug. 2-15. They can be overcome by the extreme heat and suffer permanent injuries or even death from heat stroke. Never leave a child, a helpless adult, or a pet alone in a vehicle, especially with the windows closed in warm or hot weather. They could operate the power windows or other controls or even make the vehicle move. The windows will function and they could be seriously injured or killed if caught in the path of a closing window. Arming the System To arm the system: 1. Turn the ignition off. 2. Press lock on the RKE transmitter. You do not have to manually arm or disarm the system. The security light will come on if there is a problem with arming or disarming the theft-deterrent system. Notice: Using a tool to force the key to turn in the ignition could cause damage to the switch or break the key. The switch stays in this position when the engine is running.Retained Accessory Power (RAP) These vehicle accessories may be used for up to 10 minutes after the engine is turned off. The vehicle will not start if the clutch pedal is not all the way down. Starting Procedure 1. Vehicles with am engine coolant heater should be plugged in at least four hours before starting. There are several different positions for the automatic transmission. P (Park): This position locks the front wheels. It is the best position to use when starting the engine because the vehicle cannot move easily. Then press the shift lever button and then move the shift lever into another gear. I (Intermediate): This position is also used for normal driving. However, it reduces vehicle speed without using the brakes for slight downgrades where the vehicle would otherwise accelerate due to steepness of grade. Here is how to operate the manual transmission: 1 (First): Press the clutch pedal and shift into 1 (First). Then, slowly let up on the clutch pedal as you press the accelerator pedal. You could injure yourself or others. Do not shift down more than one gear at a time when you downshift. Up-Shift Light If the vehicle has a manual transmission, there may be an up-shift light. CAUTION: If the front passenger seat back is folded down, the armrest may make it awkward to grab and pull up the parking brake lever. If the lever is not CAUTION: (Continued) CAUTION: (Continued) pulled up far enough, the vehicle may roll and you. The vehicle can roll.https://controlcert.se/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1628d416291e82---cardo-systems-g9-manual.pdf If you have left the engine running, the vehicle can move suddenly. This is called “torque lock.”. See Jump Starting on page 5-39 for more information. To shift out of P (Park): 1. Apply the brake pedal. 2. Exposure to CO can cause unconsciousness and even death. But if you ever have to, here are some things to know. CAUTION: Idling a vehicle in an enclosed area with poor ventilation is dangerous. Engine exhaust may enter the vehicle. Adjust the mirror to avoid glare from the headlamps behind you. Push the tab forward for daytime use and pull it for nighttime use. If the vehicle has map lamps, press the buttons located at the bottom of the mirror to turn them on or off. Interference can be caused by a magnetic antenna mount, note pad holder, or similar object. If CAL appears in the compass window, the compass may need to be reset or calibrated. Read this entire section before using it. CAUTION: The Rear Vision Camera (RVC) system does not replace driver vision. The rear vision camera display is now disabled. To turn the rear vision camera system on again, press and hold until the left indicator light illuminates. See “Turning the Rear Camera System On or Off”. Hands-Free Calling is fully integrated into the vehicle, and can be used with OnStar Pre-Paid Minute Packages. Most vehicles include 30 trial minutes good for 60 days. This information is automatically sent to an OnStar Call Center when the OnStar button is pressed, the emergency button is pressed, or if the airbags or AACN system deploy. This information usually includes the vehicle’s GPS location and, in the event of a crash, additional information regarding the crash that the vehicle was involved in (e.g. The third position is with the front corners placed in the lower guides and the rear corners placed in the upper guides.www.e-mogilev.com/uploads/files/canon-powershot-a590-manual.pdf CAUTION: If something is carried on top of the vehicle that is longer or wider than the luggage carrier — like paneling, plywood, or a mattress — the wind can catch it while the vehicle is being driven. Pull up on the handles to open and lift the lid. There is a rod that hooks into place to prop open the lid. The switches that operate the sunroof are located in the headliner. See Retained Accessory Power (RAP) on page 2-25. This warns others that you are having trouble. Horn To sound the horn, press the horn symbols located on the steering wheel. To change the headlamps from high beam to low beam, pull the turn signal lever toward you. To the left of the adjust band are bars that indicate the frequency of the wipes. Smaller bars mean the wiper movement is less frequent. So, do not use the cruise control on winding roads or in heavy traffic. Cruise control can be dangerous on slippery roads. On such roads, fast changes in tire traction can cause excessive wheel slip, and you could lose control. To set a speed do the following: 1. Press to turn cruise control on. The indicator light on the button will come on. 2. Get to the desired speed. 3. The exterior lamp switch has the following four positions: (Headlamps): Turns on the headlamps, parking lamps, and taillamps. (Parking Lamps): Turns on the parking lamps and taillamps only. For this feature to work, automatic lighting must be enabled. See Headlamps on page 3-14 for additional information. When the ignition is turned off, the wiper-activated headlamps will immediately turn off. Do not cover the light sensor, located on top of the instrument panel. Move the thumbwheel to the left to dim the lights or to the right to brighten the lights. The dome lamps will turn on when the thumbwheel is moved completely to the right. It estimates the battery’s temperature and state of charge and then adjusts the voltage for best performance and extended life of the battery. When the battery’s state of charge is low, the voltage is raised slightly to quickly put the charge back in. The accessory power outlets are located on the instrument panel below the climate controls and at the rear of the center console. There may be an outlet in the rear cargo area on the passenger side. The power connector wiring can be accessed by removing the service panel to begin installation. To use the lighter, located on the instrument panel below the climate controls, push it in all the way and let go. When it is ready, it will pop back out by itself. Notice: Holding a cigarette lighter in while it is heating will not allow the lighter to back away from the heating element when it is hot. Temperature Control: Turn clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the temperature. (Fan): Turn clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the fan speed. In any setting other than off, the fan runs continuously with the ignition on. Using these settings together for long periods of time may cause the air inside of the vehicle to become too dry. The defogger can also be turned off by turning off the engine. For vehicles with the remote start feature, the rear defogger automatically turns on if it is cold outside. Reverse Steps 1 through 4 to reassemble. 3-26 Warning Lights, Gages, and Indicators Warning lights and gages can signal that something is wrong before it becomes serious enough to cause an expensive repair or replacement. It shows how fast the vehicle is going, about how much fuel is left in the fuel tank, and many other things needed to drive safely and economically. United States Manual Transmission Cluster shown, Automatic, SS and Canada similar 3-27. The vehicle’s odometer works together with the Driver Information Center (DIC). Trip A and Trip B can be set on the odometer. See “Trip Information” under DIC Operation and Displays on page 3-48. If the light stays on it indicates there is an electrical problem. The system check includes the airbag sensor, the pretensioners, the airbag modules, the wiring and the crash sensing and diagnostic module. The instrument panel has a passenger airbag status indicator. It should go out once the engine is running. If it stays on, or comes on while driving, there could be a problem with the charging system or it could indicate that there are problems with a generator drive belt, or that there is an. If one part is not working, the other part can still work and stop the vehicle. For good braking both parts need to be working well. If the warning light comes on, there is a brake problem. If the system is working normally the indicator light then goes off. If the system is working normally the indicator light goes off. Notice: Driving with the engine coolant temperature warning light on could cause the vehicle to overheat. It provides information about tire pressures and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. If the check engine light comes on and stays on, while the engine is running, this indicates that there is an OBD II problem and service is required. Find a safe place to park the vehicle. Turn the key off, wait at least 10 seconds, and restart the engine.Failure to pass this inspection could prevent getting a vehicle registration. If the system is working normally the indicator light then goes off.An arrow on the fuel gage indicates the side of the vehicle the fuel door is on. Here are four things that some owners ask about. It is automatically centered at zero every time the engine is started. Actual vacuum or boost is displayed from this zero point. Changes in ambient pressure, such as driving in mountains and changing weather, will slightly change the zero reading. The available gages are: BOOST: Displays positive boost pressure as determined by the manifold air pressure (MAP) sensor.OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE: Displays ambient temperature as measured by an outside air temperature sensor. This telltale comes on whenever conditions are right for the Launch Mode (B) to activate. See Electronic Stability Control (ESC) on page 4-7 for more information on Competitive Driving Mode and Launch Control. Then turn the knob to choose the background color for a gage. Press the knob again when gage color is chosen. SHIFT LIGHT SETUP: This screen establishes a RPM range where the shift light comes on for each gear. All messages will appear in the DIC display, located at the bottom of the instrument panel cluster. These modes show the current distance traveled since the last reset for each trip odometer in either miles (mi) or kilometers (km). Both odometers can be used at the same time. The engine oil life system shows an estimate of the oil’s remaining useful life. It shows 100 when the system is reset after an oil change. It alerts you to change the oil on a schedule consistent with your driving conditions. See Automatic Headlamp System on page 3-16 for more information. The brake system warning light on the instrument panel cluster also comes on. Under severe conditions, hot ambient temperatures, steep grades, and towing, your vehicle may experience more transmission shifting. This is temporary and normal under these conditions. This does not require engine or transmission service. The system is not functional until the message stops displaying. Adjust your driving accordingly. See Fuel Gage on page 3-42, Fuel on page 5-5, and Filling the Tank on page 5-9 for more information. LOW TRACTION If your vehicle has the Enhanced Traction System (ETS) or Traction Control System (TCS), this message displays. Try resetting the system by turning the ignition off and then back on. If this message still stays on or turns back on again while you are driving, your vehicle needs service. All of the features listed may not be available on your vehicle. Only the features available will be displayed on the DIC. The default settings for the features were set when your vehicle left the factory, but may have been changed from their default state since that time. When UNITS appears on the display, press and hold the reset button for at least one second to scroll through the available settings: ENGLISH (default in United States): All information will be displayed in English units. To select a setting and move on to the next feature, press the information button while the desired setting is displayed on the DIC. When EXT LIGHTS appears on the display, press and hold the reset button for at least one second to scroll through the available settings: OFF: The exterior perimeter lighting will not turn on when the unlock button on the RKE transmitter is. CAUTION: Taking your eyes off the road for extended periods could cause a crash resulting in injury or death to you or others. Do not give extended attention to entertainment tasks while driving. To see the date press while the radio is on. The date with display times out after a few seconds and goes back to the normal radio and time display. The RDS feature is available for use only on FM stations that broadcast RDS information. Turn to increase or decrease the volume. Speed Compensated Volume (SCV): Radios with the Speed Compensated Volume (SCV) feature automatically adjust the radio volume to compensate for road and wind noise as the vehicle speeds up or slows down, so that the volume level is consistent. Press FAV to go through up to six pages of favorites, each having six favorite stations available per page. Up to 18 stations (six FM1, six FM2, and six AM), can be programmed on the six numbered buttons. To store preset stations: 1. XM Satellite Radio has a wide variety of programming and commercial-free music, coast-to-coast, and in digital-quality sound. During your trial or when you subscribe, you will get unlimited access to XM Radio Online for when you are not in the vehicle. Sound is heard at a reduced volume and the elapsed time of the track displays. Release to resume playing the track. RDM (Random): Tracks can be listened to in random, rather than sequential order. The CD player scans the bottom of the disc. If the bottom of a CD is damaged it may not play properly or at all. Do not touch the bottom of a CD while handling it.
