This is an info packed guide to the D5300 applicable to novice and seasoned photographer. It is laid out nicely and logically and if you rush thru it you might get a bit overwhelmed my advice is to take your time and enjoy the journey you will be greatly rewarded and will be able to negotiate all the wonderful details of the NIkon D5300. This is also a guide you will want to place in your camera bag for future reference.David's writing style is concise, informative, and to-the-point. With this book a D5300 owner will have all the information needed to get started with the camera and to utilize all of the advanced features that are available. The compact size of the book is just what I was looking for. It is large enough so that the text is very readable but small enough to be easily portable. After several chapters I already feel comfortable with my camera and able to learn more. In addition to the above, he talks about lighting, framing and effects. Some of these I was able to use right away and other tips I’ll use when I grow into the camera some more. The section on lenses provides additional information beyond what the camera has to offer, but explains the uses of the different lenses as they pertain to this camera. This book provided me with a ton of camera related information in an easy to use format. I will continue to grow into this camera and improve my picture taking capabilities using this book as a reference guide as well. This is one of the smartest purchases I’ve made.The print copy is not available for a while, so I ordered it and then added in the Kindle edition for a couple of bucks. This is a great way to get the book immediately and then wait for the hard or soft copy to come when it's available. I got this and also the field guide.
