Maples 3.0 out of 5 stars This is a solid overall book helping readers understand the history, uses, and processes for this software. It doesn't read like a novel, but it has it's purpose if you're a TM1 Developer. After giving high level overview and marketing it jumps straight to the most complex topics like how TM1 handles rules and feeders. I was trained and certified in TM1 and I could get that with slow reading, but I don't think anyone without such background will have any use of this book.I would recommend it!However, I'm glad I have it and I'm sure I'll refer to it often. No where to find the sample file that they show. More confusion. Still do not understand why the pricy book do not add any file or example to download to follow as they try to show. If anyone can tell me where to find the example file, I will re-rate it. I vote not to buy it if you are new to TM1.However, I still found the later chapters that describe how TM1 can be used to solve a variety of business problems very good. Even if you are not fortunate enough to be using TM1 for your analysis reporting and planning applications, I would still buy this book for the business knowledge in these later chapters. There are a few negatives. While the book does describe best practice on naming conventions, indentation of code, single time dimensions, etc, many of the examples don't keep to this Common to many other programming books on the Kindle, the code examples are inserted as pictures rather than as text. This makes them impossible to read as the pictures can only be zoomed to a very limited extent, and it is not possible to use the text size feature of the Kindle.http://eduteklabs.com/userfiles/buick-lucerne-2008-manual.xml However, overall this is an excellent book for anyone who wants to learn TM1 development. The users are not there to watch it like a cinema and go away but to apply the techniques and if examples are not try-able, what is the point. For each workout the readers cannot be expected to prepare the figures or data themselves. Hope they will make them available to all buyers. It doesn't detail the process very boring and not interactive. Would have expected more from IBM.It covers the technical side very well. I recommend this book for someone who has a fair amount of exposure to TM1 as it can get quite specific into the details. Nevertheless, it is a valuable source of information with lots of insight and recommended techniques that I have discovered and will be using for sure. The 13-digit and 10-digit formats both work. Thank you for all the information. I’m planning on taking my DATs pretty soon so this was a great way to gauge what preparation I’m going to need to do. I am honestly having a lot of trouble finding a way to order the soap carving kit and soap bars for the Manual Dexterity Test. I went on the CDA website and they don’t seem to have a link or website as to where these materials can be purchased. You can also try searching your local classifieds (craigslist or kijiji) or perusing the PreMed101 forums for second-hand preparation materials. Many schools these days no longer require a Manual Dexterity (soap carving) score, so it may be better to re-focus your DAT preparation elsewhere. I’m taking the DAT this Saturday! I already took the aDAT and I’d like to strengthen the chemistry portion I just wanted to know what your study schedule was like. I plan on studying for 12 weeks while going to summer school part-time and working in lab. So just wanted to know if you had any advice. Thank you:) I wouldn’t mind paying the money (even though I think it is a little overpriced), but my main problem is that I only have 3 weeks left and it takes 1 week for it to get delivered, which would leave me 2 weeks to work on it. I know you’ve repeatedly mentioned that it is a great resource but do you think it would be a good idea to order it at this point. I am afraid it might just add to my anxiety level considering the fact that it is apparently a very challenging resource. In other words, would you say that the DAT Destroyer was extremely necessary for you to get the amazing marks that you got or just a great review resource? That being said, if you think the main resource that was the “reason” for your high Academic Average was the Destroyer, then I think I would still order it. I’m writing the DAT in November I was wondering where I could get more practice material. Have you heard of datready.ca they have a couple practice books out but I want to make sure they’re challenging enough. Otherwise would you say the DAT destroyer is my best option? I highly recommend the DAT Destroyer. We’ve also compiled a list of the most useful DAT prep books and agree with many of your suggestions: Howard Farran DDS, MBA I’m currently in the middle of studying for the Nov sitting of the DAT. The material so far is all review (I already graduated with an HBSc.How much time did you spend over the summer, each day, on studying? I devoted a full Saturday and Sunday to reading the biology and chem material. However, it wasn’t until September or October that I truly buckled down and started doing pages and pages of practice questions from Cliffs and DAT Destroyer. I estimate that I spent around 4 hours after class each day prepping, and probably did so more intensely in the week leading up to the Nov DAT. In all honesty, the mad dash was a result of my procrastination but also because I wanted to keep the material fresh in my mind for the exam. You’ll rock it! I also completed a hospital-based general dentistry residency program (GPR) in Canada. If you’re still curious, read more about me. Moreover, the Science sections are taken in College as prerequisites for most Dental Schools therefore most students prefer to review this on their own. This will help assess where you’re still struggling and how to fix it. However, we have made our classes available online at www.DATsoapcarving.ca. There, you can find our entire soap carving curriculum, 10 full PAT practice tests, access to Steve the instructor to send photos of your soap carving and to answer any questions. The courses were very organized, straightforward and very clear. You provided us with a lot of tips and advices to improve our speed in the Soap carving and in the perceptual ability exercises. Thank you again for your patience and for this great experience. Christina Montreal The instructor, Steve, was able to condense the material into the most simplistic form, teaching us the most accurate and quickest methods to both carve soaps and solve PAT problems. The material as a whole, was detail-oriented and coherently-presented in a short span of time. No doubt one of the best investments made. Sephir Montreal This course was truly amazing. I learned all the essentials in just a few condensed classes. Now, I'm really confident to take the DAT on february 20. Steve taught us all the fundamentals on how to carve the soap and gave us a few tips and strategies to get a really high score on the perceptual ability test. I really recommend this course if you want to get a high grade on the DAT. Stephane Kirkland QC Please reload Really Good Class!!!! I strongly recommend it for students who want to pass the DAT exam!!! You will learn a lot in a nice environment. The teacher, Steeve is really nice and patient with students!!! Claudia Chateauguay QC Please reload For more Testimonials, click below He didn't want to pay to review his college science courses. When Steve finally passed his DAT exam in Montreal, he received the highest grade in the province of Quebec in both the perceptual ability and soap carving sections allowing him to secure his place in dental school. That's when he decided to try and help other students so that they wouldn't have to go through what he went through to get a good grade. And so, he created TAEDATMTL. He thus combined all of his self-taught tricks and techniques with the best techniques money can buy online to create the best possible curriculum just for you. He has since created their full online video lessons library. Address: 230 ave Laurier Ouest. There is no Reading Comprehension Test on the French DAT. Some Dental schools do not use the manual dexterity test results. There is no reading comprehension test on the French DAT. Ideally you would want a score in the 20-30 range.Unlike the American DAT, the Canadian DAT has the optional carving portion but there is no Organic Chemistry or Quantitative reasoning section. The Canadian DAT is also completely paper-based, whereas the American DAT is computer-based. Some of the information presented here are from the DAT Guide published by the American Dental Association (ADA) and the DAT (Dental Aptitude Test program) web site maintained by the Canadian Dental Association (CDA). If you need more detailed information about the above tests please check the related web sites. Please check the links to the Dental Colleges in the U.S. and Canada at the end of this page to see the specific admission requirements for the each college. Perceptual Ability, Reading Comprehension, Chemistry and Biology sections are the same for both tests. American test has Math and Organic sections but Canadian test does not. Canadian test has Soap Carving section but American test does not. For the Canadian DAT information click here Some Dental Schools accept results from only a specific DAT (The Canadian DAT or The American DAT, you need to check with the Dental College of your choice for the details). Please click on the link and go to the step 3. The tests are full length tests for all sections of the American DAT. The applicants for the Canadian DAT do not need the Organic Chemistry and the Quantitative Reasoning sections but they could use the other parts of the tests. This kit is specifically designed for the Canadian DAT and includes one full length test. The PAT format is the same for both the American DAT and the Canadian DAT. The format of this study guide is the same as the Perceptual Ability section of the actual DAT. The PAT section of the actual DAT has 90 questions but this study guide has 2 practice tests and 180 questions in total. For each test, there are 90 questions in total for the 6 different parts of the test, 15 questions for the Apertures or Orthographic projections section, 15 questions for the View recognition section, 15 questions for the Angle discrimination section, 15 questions for the Paper folding or Hole-punch section, 15 questions for the Cube counting section and 15 questions for the 3D form developments section. All questions have answers or explanations. The Perceptual Ability section of the DAT is based on visualization and perception, not on memorization. The answers for most parts could be understood better by using diagrams, rather than using words. In this study guide, the answers and explanations are only provided for the correct answers; this is because of the nature of this section. In most cases, the correct answer is just the redrawing of the same shape with added reference points using numbers and letters, so students can see how a shape has been rotated or flip-flopped in space. Apertures or Orthographic projections, View recognition and 3D form developments The correct answers for the above sections are provided by assigning numbers and letters to the different parts of a shape such as: edges, corners, surfaces, lines, faces and etc. The correct and wrong answers could be understood by following the correct order of these numbers and letters that have been assigned to each shape. The position of numbers and letters allows students to see how a shape could be or has been rotated or flip-flopped in space. Cubes How can one know how many faces of a cube is exposed or covered. It could only be done by looking at the shapes. The answers for this section are provided by putting the correct number of exposed faces on each cube. For example, number 4 on a cube means that 4 faces of that cube are exposed or number 2 means 2 faces of that cube are exposed. In addition, some general and specific information about the cube structure is provided in this study guide. Students need to learn the rules provided in this study guide for the cube section in order for them to be able to answer any question related to the cubes Angle discrimination How could it be explained if an angle is larger or smaller than another one. Without measuring it with a device, it could only be done by looking at it, and comparing it to the other angles in the question. There are 3 simple rules introduced in this study guide that make it very easy for any student to decide that which angle is larger and which one is smaller compared to the other angles in a question. Paper-folding or Hole-punch For this section, the answers are provided by using folding-unfolding patterns for a piece of square paper. The holes only could be at one location and if they are to the left, right, top or the bottom of the correct location then that is not the right answer. Final note The best way to learn the PAT section of the DAT is to attend a prep class. As we all know, this option might not be available to many students. We have created this study guide so students have another option to use when they are preparing for the PAT section of the DAT. There were five different instructors (dental, computer design and art) from the U.S. and Canada working on these questions for more than 2 years. They all agree that this is the best way to teach this section through a study guide without a class.
