Lets start with the radio itself. It's solid and well built, and the user interface is pretty easy to navigate. The clip is sturdy and great for clipping to a gear bag. The sound is only okay, it's passable for talk radio but music is pretty terrible on anything over half volume (which isn't loud.) Now as for the solar panel, during the summer it'll keep up with 3-5hrs of listening daily. But any other time of the year you are going to be charging this thing bi-weekly. As for this thing supplying power for other devices, I got it to work on a GPS a couple of times. Also, I found the people at Eton Corporation to be very friendly and helpful.I did not follow that advice and it proved useless when our power was out last month. IMO this is too expensive not to be user friendly, especially because this product is intended to offer assistance in extreme circumstances. We never could get it to charge consistently, even in direct sunlight, contrary to the description which states that charging is possible even on cloudy days. I wouldn't buy this again.Whether we're in the house or not. The only thing I don't like about it is the Carabiner clasp broke off. So we're not able to carry it on anything anymore.
