The first confirmation of this theory was obtained in 1992 in the COBE experiment on the WMAP space probe. In 1992, he became Associate Professor of the University of Pennsylvania. In 1995 he returned to the University of Southern California as a professor of Mathematics, Informatics and Molecular Biology. Since 2000, he is a professor at the University of California at San Diego and heads the Computer Spectrometry Center of the National Institutes of Health. Together with the St. Petersburg Academic University in 2010 he received a mega-grant for solving the most important algorithmic and computational tasks of modern biomedicine. In December 2012, this work was extended for another two years.
