As above they essentially the same as the Leyland Daf 45 for many many many years after yours was made so you will find plenty of info. The only real changes were how the cab looks inside and out the mechanicals are pretty much the same. Just looking to keep her going strong. Few bits at moment whuring noise coming from diff?? The rear brake adjusters seize on them so might be that. Throttle cables also sieze easy enough if you can tilt the cab. Sounds you have a fluid leak you will have to find that. If you need to take the booster off get a cheap spanner and grind it down as one of the nuts is a mere to get on. Then leave it off when you put it back it will be fine with 3. Check the diff oil sometimes people put the wrong oil in but It might turn out that the diff is worn. That could turn a bit expensive or just put up with the noise. The game changer Leyland Roadrunner in pre production form. FOLLOWING years of cash starvation, Leyland Truck and Bus had seen the market share slip away as profit from their group had foolishly been gradually syphoned off to shore up the ailing car division. Sir Michael Edwardes had wisely knocked some shape in the BL empire by making each division a stand alone concern answerable to the main BL board. While the car plants of Cowley and Longbridge had been strike rife and militant, seemingly doing their best to bring the UK’s biggest vehicle group to its knees by a minority group, the Lancashire and Cumbrian factories of Leyland and Workington quietly got on with making the best of a bad lot. Edwardes and his men were clearly impressed with the mindset of the truck and bus workers and sanctioned a truly massive investment for a new plant, test track and range of commercial vehicles. Previously, some advances had been made with engines. The legendary 680 diesel had been revised with new fuelling and turbocharging to become the TL11 and the high tech yet dismally unreliable 500 fixed head engine had been quietly dropped like a hot coal. Leyland had embraced turbocharging and could almost match most of the rivals for power at least.https://labroclub.ru/blog/3hm35f-parts-manual The biggest selling truck in this sector by far was the Ford D series with the ageing yet recently updated Bedford TL running close behind. In 1981, Ford moved the goalposts by a considerable margin with the ultra modern looking Cargo. Both the Leyland and the aforementioned Bedford TL were worthy trucks, but both rapidly becoming outmoded and certainly looked crude compared to the windcheating new Cargo. And it only made perfect sense that the same magic could be worked on the smaller 7.5-tonne range. The new truck badged as the Roadrunner arrived in 1984 and it seemed that Leyland once again, had a hit and the marketing men up in Lancashire made sure everyone knew about this new vehicle. Simple and effective. The minimalistic Roadrunner dashboard. The Roadrunner chassis was carried over allbeit in updated form with improvements to the braking system, its Leyland produced 6.98NV diesel engine was also carried through to the Roadrunner coupled to a Turner all syncro gearbox. The cab itself was like nothing else seen at the time sharing many raw pressings with the heavier range including the cab doors which seemed to dwarf the rest of the truck. Its minimalist dashboard gave a huge amount of interior space to work in but also giving ample storage under the passenger seat and a decent sized pocket on the cab wall behind the driver. The steering wheel was the same 18in affair fitted to the remainder of the truck range adjusted for reach and operated the ZF integral power steering. All other controls were positioned in such a way that everything was within reach of the driver with chunky illuminated switches to the left and simple slider knobs for the heater to the right. The huge windscreen gave a commanding view of the road ahead and some nice touches like heated mirrors and a central air vent right in front of the driver (as seen in early Rover SD1) made the Roadrunner a pleasant little truck.http://directealgerie.com/images/boston-horizon-solo-radio-manual.pdf By the mid-1980s the maximum power output of the Roadrunner at 120bhp was out of class compared to its rivals and around this time Cummins were developing a lightweight diesel of 6-litres in the USA and Darlington which became known as the B Series. Leyland obviously looking for a fresh engine with minimal cost entered an engineering alliance with Cummins Engines whereby Leyland would assemble certain parts and castings for Cummins in return for a favourable price per unit. This engine was initally badged as the Leyland 300 series but was fully assembled in Darlington offering 120 or 130bhp normally aspirated or 145bhp in turbo form. The improved Roadrunner now offered decent power with superb fuel economy and torque, this coupled with a new front braking system which had ventilated disc brakes and the option of a factory sleeper cab kept the Roadrunner on top of the game. Leyland-DAF added one further vehicle to the Roadrunner family, by fitting uprated wheels, tyres and axles with revisions to the suspension and anti roll bars, a 10-tonne version which sold reasonably well to builders merchants and tipper operators capped the range off. Subsequently, the Roadrunner became the Leyland DAF 45 with subtle revisions to the interior and exterior styling which included a padded dash, a much improved drivers seat and carpeting with the biggest change visually being the three bar grille and deletion of the nearside kerb window. Cummins also at this time offered another power option of an intercooled B Series developing 180bhp. The CAV developed fueling system was dropped moving over to a Bosch meeting up coming Euro 1 emission criteria, all engines were now turbocharged and better a better torque spread made a good to drive truck even better. Once Leyland became part of the DAF empire, its fortunes were turned round almost overnight with the whole truck range gaining revisions and improvements.http://www.magicapro.it/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/162742bc7d6636---brookfield-viscometer-service-manual.pdf Leyland’s legendary Multipart parts company complimented the market leading DAF-AID programme and Leyland DAF quickly became top of the sales charts here in the UK and a formidable force in Europe, too. Cabs and axle assemblies are produced at its Westerlo plant in Belgium. Some of the truck models sold with the DAF brand are designed and built by Leyland Trucks at its Leyland plant in England. His co-founder and investor was A. H. Huenges, managing director of a brewery. Van Doorne had repaired Huenges' car several times, and Huenges, pleased with his work, offered to finance him in business. Hub started to work in a small workshop on the grounds of the brewery. Huenges left the company in 1936 and the DAF company was then completely in the hands of the van Doorne brothers. This meant a big opportunity for DAF. In 1949, the company started making lorries, trailers and buses, changing its name to Van Doorne's Automobiel Fabriek (Van Doorne's Automobile Factory). The first lorry model was the DAF A30.These used the all-wheel drive H-drive developed from the Trado conversions. In 1955, DAF produced its first drafts of a car belt drive system. Over the next few years, the design was developed and refined. In February 1958, DAF demonstrated a small belt-driven four-seater car at the Dutch car show (the AutoRAI ). In 1959, DAF started selling the world's first car with a continuously variable transmission, the small four seater DAF 600. This was the first of a series of models to be released in subsequent years, including the DAF 33, DAF 44, DAF 55 and DAF 66, all using the innovative Variomatic transmission system. This agreement lasted until 1981. DAF sold its passenger car division, along with what is now the Nedcar factory in Born, in 1975 to the Swedish company Volvo Cars, leaving DAF to concentrate on its successful line of lorries. On 9 January 2012, Paccar installed the cornerstone of the new plant in the city of Ponta Grossa, in the state of Parana, Brazil. It featured unitary steel construction, with a front mounted, air cooled two cylinder boxer engine driving the rear wheels through a centrifugal clutch and the Variomatic CVT transmission. The way this was constructed eliminated the need for a differential, with the drivebelts taking up the difference of speed in turns. The car had independent suspension all round, with MacPherson struts and a transverse leaf spring at the front, and a coil sprung semi trailing arm design at the rear. The first 600s rolled off the production line in the following year. The next model was the 750, featuring a larger 749 cc (45.7 cu in) twin. The designation 32 was changed to 33 upon the 1966 release of the 44, a larger middle class vehicle designed by Giovanni Michelotti. Its body design was altered from the 44 by a new front which accommodated the longer engine and radiator, bigger taillights, and a more plush interior. The front suspension was changed from a transverse leaf spring to MacPherson struts with torsion springs and an antiroll bar.It featured new, boxy styling of the front, and a new rear axle design. The two drive belts now powered a differential, and the axle was changed from a swingaxle design to a leaf sprung de Dion axle. It was a major improvement over the (tricky) handling of the swing axles of the earlier 33, 44 and 55 models. Volvo dropped the 33 and 44 models, and later rebadged the DAF 66 as the Volvo 66, with bigger bumpers and a safety steering wheel. A big weakness of this system is that a failed drive belt would cripple the car. The last DAF design, codenamed P900, initially intended to be the DAF 77, was developed during the transition to Volvo ownership and was ultimately launched as the Volvo 300 series in 1976, firstly as the Volvo 343 three door hatchback with the Variomatic transmission. Today, the plant is now owned by VDL Nedcar, and contract manufactures certain Mini models for BMW.Also, famous coach builders like Giovanni Michelotti and OSI made cars based on the DAF technique. For instance, the OSI City Car, which turned into a miniature. This lorry was upgraded in the following years. Their first attempt into the international market was a failure, the 2000DO. Three years later, the wider F241, which featured DAF's characteristic three wiper windscreen, was introduced as the DAF 2800. This design lasted until the introduction of the 95 style cab in 1987. There was also a lighter, narrower version called the 'F198 which was introduced in 1972 on the F1200 and F1400, but this short lived model was replaced after only three years. The 95 featured an all new cab developed jointly with ENASA of Spain, a revised version of the 11.6-litre ATI engine, rated at 310, 350, and 380 bhp, and 16 speed ZF Friedrichshafen gearbox. On the Continent Eaton's Twinsplitter gearbox was an option. A full range of axle configurations were offered, to suit every operating requirement. The 95 series cabin had gained height and length, and sat atop Cummins ' 14-litre N14, rated at 507 bhp. ZF's new Aluminium cased 16S221 gearbox was fitted, with optional Intarder. An innovation was the hydraulic gearshift developed with Konsberg of Norway. Other vehicles in the DAF range have included the inherited from Leyland Trucks Roadrunner (Badged DAF 600, 800, 1000 on the Continent) which evolved into the 45 Series, the cab of which was used on the 18 ton gross 55, also as a military spec 4?4.Powered by DAF's 6.24-litre (381 cu in), 8.65-litre (528 cu in) and 11.6-litre (710 cu in) engines, some novel styling details featured, while the 85 Series' cab sat 10 cm (3.94 in) higher on the chassis to clear the WS engine. Also offered for a short period was the 3200, basically a remodelled 2800 with the corporate style, three bar grille. The company tried to change this image with entries in rallies and races, such as their entry in the London-Sydney Marathon. In the later years, they competed with a twin engine lorries: the 1986 TurboTwin, the 1987 TurboTwin II and the 1988 X1. The later producing a combined power output of 1,220 PS (900 kW). Jan de Rooy's lorry was running third overall, beating the Peugeot 405 T16's on speed, when DAF's other lorry, driven by Theo van de Rijt, was involved in a crash. His co driver Kees Van Loevezijn was fatally injured, and the other two occupants of the lorry narrowly escaped the same fate. DAF withdrew from the event following the crash. Then to everyone's surprise, it withdrew. Jan en Gerard de Rooy, the team Tridec, The team Hans Bekx with two lorries and the GINAF Rally Power team (Note that four lorries were built by DAF, two by GINAF ). Retrieved 2 October 2010. It is most likely a connection issue with the battery or copper coil wires. Reply john 29 September 2016 i am considering doing this on my V1 triumph however when i search around for battery replacements some have an offset negative post and some centered. The only variation is the length of the battery. Sometimes the brushes are fitted with a 42mm long battery, sometimes it’s a 49mm long battery. You can open your toothbrush and measure the battery length without doing any desoldering. These are our 42mm long offset tag batteries, and these are our 49mm long offset tag batteries. Reply Louis Tanguay 4 October 2016 Extremely clear and well illustrated instructions. I could feel it being a little bit hot before it died totally but thought it was from charging. Reply Ionic Admin 3 January 2017 Hi Kent. Check inside the toothbrush handle that the copper wires from the charging coil have not broken. There is a weak point where they are soldered to the PCB.
