If the water supply pr essure is more than 120 psi, a pr essur e reducing valv e must be installed. Damage to the water lines and internal mechanisms of the w asher can r esult. If the washer w as exposed to freezing temper atures prior to installation, allo w it to stand at room temper ature for se ver al hours before use and check for leaks prior to operation. 1. Option 1: Standpipe Install the end of the dr ain hose into the elbow br acket. Do not extend the dr ain hose more than 4 inches (10 cm) past the end of the elbo w brack et. Use a tie strap to secur e the drain hose in place. Inserting mor e than 8-12 inches (20-30 cm) can cause mold or microor ganisms to spr e ad to the inside of the washer. If the water v alv es and drain ar e built into the wall, fasten the dr ain hose to one of the w ater hoses with the tie str ap. Lev eling feet that mov e or slide on the ?oor can contribute to ex cess vibration and noise due to poor contact with the ?oor. See INST ALLA TION OF NON-SKID P ADS for more information. NOTE: If a drip pan must be used, mak e sure to follo w the instructions pr ovided with the drip pan and make sure the le veling feet ar e adjuste d for ?rm and ev en contact with the pan. R ock the washer fr om corner to corner to mak e sure that all four lev eling feet are in ?rm and ev en contact with the ?oor. 1. P osition the washer in its ?nal location, taking special care not to pinch, str ain, or crush the water and dr ain lines. Place a lev el across the top of the w asher. Rais e Lowe r 2. Loosen the locknuts on all four lev eling fe et with the wrench until y ou can adjust the feet (wrench appearance may vary). Use the wr ench to turn the feet clockwise to raise the w asher, and counterclockwise to lo wer the washer. Using a lev el, adjust the feet until the washer is lev el from side to side and fr ont to back. Make sur e that all four feet are in ?rm contact with the ?oor. Once the washer is le vel fr om side to side and front to back, use the adjusting wrench to tighten all four lock nuts securely to pr event the legs fr om getting out of adjustment during operation. Mak e sure that all four lev eling feet are in ?rm contact with the ?oor. NOTE: T o make sur e that the washer is pr operly lev el, run the washer with a test load: place a medium-sized load of laundry in the machine. See the following sections for additional information on cycle selection and oper ation. V erify that the washer does not r ock or vibr ate excessiv ely during the spin cy cle. If the washer vibr ates or shakes, adjust the lev eling feet, while the washer is spinning, until the vibrations ar e r e duced. Some ?oor surfaces are too slippery to pr event the washer fr om moving on the ?oor during heavily unbalanced loads. While it is normal for an occasional load to be out of balance, excess noise and vibr ation can result fr om the washer mo ving out of position. If these conditions are encounter ed, follow the instructions below for installation of the non-skid pads. T hese pads will help pre vent the w asher from mo ving during heavy, out of balance conditions, ther eby r educing noise and vibration. NOTE: Non-skid pads ar e included in the installation packet. Fabric T ype Delicate articles should not be mix e d with heavier or sturdier fabric types. W ashing delicates in a load with heavy fabrics can result in damage to the mor e delicate fabrics. W ashing heavier fabrics in a delicate load can result in poor w ash performance for the heavier fabrics and possible damage to the delicates. Lint T ype Some fabrics attr act and bind lint to them while others give o? lint in the laundry pr ocess. A void mixing these lint collectors and lint producers in the same load. Large, bulk y items, such as a blanket, comforter, or bedspread, should be washed individually. Ov erloading the washer can cause items to get caught between the door and the seal.
