That Acura in the garage was designed with the highest care and craftsmanship; it ought to get new replacement components with the same high level of reliability. This vehicle even served as the flagship car briefly for the company. These cars stood out for their distinctive five-cylinder engine, which was used on only a handful of models. Those who still own 1994 to 1992 Acura Vigor cars drive a piece of history from the company. The hallmark of the Acura Vigor was its unusual 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine. This design combined the best of both 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engines. Four-cylinder engines typically have better gas mileage, though 6-cylinder engines are known for having more power. Acura's Vigor had better gas mileage than a 6-cylinder and more power than a 4-cylinder car. The engine's orientation was also unusual, as it was mounted longitudinally, as is usually seen in a rear-wheel drive car, but the Acura Vigor was a front-wheel drive car. At its release in American markets in 1992, the Acura Vigor had two trim models, the GS and the LS. The LS was the base trim level, though it had slightly more interior space. The GS offered more luxurious options including power windows, a powered driver's seat, power moonroof, leather trim on the interior, and a digital audio system. Though the higher trim level offered more options, both trim levels of the Acura Vigor were designed to compete against small, entry-level luxury vehicles. Models made in the first two years of production lagged behind other luxury vehicles, but updates in 1994 were made to make the interior roomier and the ride more comfortable, but sadly, it was a matter of too-little, too late, as the Acura Vigor's final year was 1994, and it was replaced in 1995 by the Acura TL.http://www.raumboerse-luzern.ch/mieten/e-gel-invitrogen-manual Despite its lackluster sales, Acura Vigor fans are still around, and thanks to the connections brought by the Internet, have formed their own fan Acura Vigor car club to swap ideas about how to care for their cars and tips on where to get Acura Vigor used parts. Some of the things discussed include when to maintain the vehicle, and what services are needed. Those who still own Vigor cars find this a great resource for car care tips. When it comes to finding the 1992, 1993, or 1994 Acura Vigor parts to put those car care tips into use, you should also go online. PartsGeek.com has you covered for all of the parts your Acura might need. Even with the unusual engine design and configuration, Acura Vigor parts can still be found, and PartsGeek.com should be your source for when you want to find all the parts you need and pay competitive prices. What else could you want in an online parts outlet? I followed return policy instructions and received professional service. Thanks Parts Geek. I will shop here again and tell others. Our complete online catalog covers all Acura genuine Vigor parts and accessories. All parts are backed by the manufacturer's warranty and shipped directly from Acura dealers. No matter where you are in the country, your Vigor parts will arrive fast, cheap, and hassle-free. The first Acura Vigor was introduced in 1992 positioned between the sportier Integra and the more luxurious Legend in Acura's lineup. It was intended to compete with the BMW 3-Serise and Lexus ES300 as entry-level luxury sedan but became a competitor to Audi 90, BMW 318 and Volvo 940. But after two-year production run, Acura Vigor was eventually replaced by the Acura TL in North America. The Acura Vigor was actually a rebadged version of the third-generation Honda Vigor in North American market. It came with two trim levels: the base LS and the upscale GS. Featured all-disc antilock brakes and a driver's side airbag, Acura Vigor shared some design ideas with all new Honda Inspire and the new second-generation Honda Legend until for the 1994 model year, it made several changes to respond to some reviews. It increased rear seat room, softened the suspension and re-engineered the steering rack to help isolate the driver from road imperfections in an attempt to make the model more like the ES. But during its lifetime, Acura Vigor was powered by a 2.5 L inline 5-cylinder engine and this engine sent power through either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission to the front wheels. And if you have an Acura Vigor, then these common problems should get your attention: First, engine failure. Generally speaking, this problem could be included among those most serious issues on vehicles, without exception for Acura Vigor. In order to prevent this situation to occur, you had better learn about these symptoms about it. Some enthusiastic Acura Vigor drivers said this issue starts with irregular or unusually high speed idle speed, then the vehicle suffers from starting issues such as hard starting or inability to start. Before that, the Check Engine Light would come on and engine performance reduces dramatically so the obvious increase of fuel consumption will also happen. Second, braking system works unproperly. For drivers, well-functioning braking system could be lifesaver under certain circumstances. Thus, Acura Vigor drivers also pay much attention to the braking system. According to their experience, as accumulation of mileage, the brakes will be super noisy and poorly responded, which is extremely dangerous for driving. When depressing the brake pedal, a sense of pulsating or vibrating will be felt as well. If you are careful enough, you may also find score marks covered the brake rotors completely. For your driving safety, you had better keep the Vigor brake pad set, brake disc, brake drum and brake rotors in fine working condition always. A fact that you could not deny is depending on simply reaction measures is not enough, routine maintenance is the key to have a long-lived Acura Vigor. But because it is assembled by different kinds of auto parts, you have the need to confirm what parts need routine maintenance in advance for effort-saving. Windshield wiper or wiper blade is used for offering excellent under adverse weather conditions; fog light and headlight are usually used under dim light conditions; cabin air filter is responsible for venting healthy, fresh air into compartment. All these parts are important in creating a comfortable and safe driving environment, thus, routine maintenance on them is needed. You may feel ambivalent when faced with OEM Acura Vigor auto parts and aftermarket ones, but you should know that OEM ones have greater assurance in quality, reliability and durability. And AcuraPartsWarehouse.com is dedicated to offering lowest-priced manufacturer-warrantied genuine Acura Vigor auto parts online. You can shop with confidence as all OEM Vigor parts could be delivered to your door step at the fastest speed and hassle-free return policy is also available for them. I. bought a trouble code scanner that confirmed my suspicion then I installed this new sensor and it immediate fixed the problem and the trouble code went away too on the next scan. I did not have to use a special O2 sensor socket that is slotted for the wires or let the exhaust heat up for 15 minutes to get the old one out. I just dropped the exhaust again so I could get my grinder with metal cut off blade on the O2 sensor and cut it off so I could get a regular socket wrench with breaker bar on it. I soaked it with penetrating oil first and let set for 15 minutes then the old one came right out. I used some anti seize compound on the new one.I used it on the area right below exhaust manifold so before the cat. Takes about 50-60 miles of normal driving to find out if it works. Freeway and city driving. Gotta reset your check light first. To be safe, I will be shopping for a different brand. This is a common part to fail and need replacement. Fit into the upper position on the exhaust manifold. Had to use a little extra grease and good manual pressure to get in it, but fit perfectly. I would recommend this product; CEL went out after installation and will update this review if anything changes. To add a new vehicle, select the year, make, and model at left. Tarzan 5.0 out of 5 stars It was the right part and fit BUT this can be a bear of a job. The plug is behind the engine where only one arm will fit. I couldn't for the life of me release the plug as you have to squeeze one side and pull it apart. Practically impossible with one hand -on your back on the garage floor. I tried to chop the old sensor plug into pieces to get it to let go but it wouldn't release. After 2 hours of fighting, broke it loose from the tab attaching it to the body of the car and forced both hands onto it- Finally got it to release;( Why didn't I just cut the wires you say- well if I did that, there NO WAY to get crimpers up into the space to graft a new sensor on.Same part OEM without the Honda markup. Hints make sure you have an attachment for your socket wrench that lets you remove and install that allows for the wires. Don't forget to disconnect the negative side of the battery.I was told to replace my O2 sensor to fix the issue. I thought that was crazy, the ecu was not throwing any CEL for the O2 and I had just replaced that sensor months before for other reasons. It didn't fix the issue then, so why would it work now. Well, I did some more digging and learned that the issues I was having was due to failure of the heater circuit in the O2 sensor(O2 sensors must be hot to work properly) and I could test the circuit by checking the resistance. So I checked the o2 sensor in my car, and it was way out of the working range, therefore no good. So I bought this sensor, installed it, and the problem has been gone for a week now. If you own a Honda, buy only these oem sensors from Denso, other brands just don't cut it some times. Get the right parts the first time and save yourself the hassle.Everything passed the smog test except for No (ppm) on 25 mph. I installed this o2 sensor and drove around for about 10-15 miles before smog retest. Everything PASSED!!! No (ppm) was reading 0 at 25 mph.Just buy it - no brainer. I checked several online sources and a local chain. Amazon had it for about 10 bucks less on average (thanks Amazon). It even came with anti-seize paste. After having it installed (should have done it myself but had honda do it for 150), the check engine light went out and all is well. It's too early to talk about long term performance but so far, so good.If you're having difficulty getting the connector of your old sensor to come apart, it may be because it's a fake Denso sensor; this was the case with the bad sensor I was replacing, and the connector of the Chinese fake wasn't molded quite dimensionally correct. Also, remember to disconnect the battery GROUND before and during installation. If you drive anything japan made, stop buying cheap o2 sensors when these are cheap already. Avoid your local auto parts store for o2 sensors unless they carry denso sensors. The copper anti-seize packet included, is nice and offers a potential of 'refills'I assumed that it will be ok since it said that it was ok for my car Honda Civic But when it arrived the wires were about 4 inches too short and couldn’t be used so I had to return it.Like hundreds less and it’s an oem manufacturer for my car. Had to cut the plug unfortunately and wire it in but it works. Be careful not to cross thread. Metal isn’t that tough. Visit us at 1AAuto.com, your trusted source for quality auto parts. In this video I have a couple of oxygen sensors with me. While there are some aesthetic differences here, the wire lengths are a little different, the actual body and tip of the sensor are a little different, the threads and gasket are the same, and on the other end the connections are actually the same. I can plug these into either position on our vehicle. But if I had to ask you which one's upstream and which one's downstream, you probably can't tell just from looking at them. That's true of most oxygen sensors. The way you determine whether or not an O2 sensor is upstream or downstream is all done visually. Your oxygen sensor position can be determined relative to your catalytic convertor. As the name suggests, upstream sensors will be located upstream or ahead of, in front of, above, closer to the engine than your catalytic convertors. This means that they see the exhaust gasses first. They then go through the catalytic convertor and to the downstream oxygen sensor, which will either be located in the catalytic convertor like our vehicle here, or after the catalytic convertor to monitor the gasses coming out of the cat and make sure that it's being efficient relative to the readings of the upstream O2 sensor. The other determination you need to make is bank one versus bank two. Determining which bank is which can be done by looking at a picture of your vehicle's firing order. Whichever bank contains cylinder one is going to be bank one, and the other one, regardless of whether or not cylinder two is in it, is going to be bank two by default. These banks are true of V engines like V8s, V6s, and flat engines like Porsches and Subarus that have individual banks. On inline four-cylinder engines, as long as they have one exhaust manifold like a Jeep four-liter or a four-cylinder Honda engine, you'll only have one bank with an upstream and downstream O2 sensor. There will be no bank two on the engine. On our vehicle here, this is the passenger side, which we've already determined from the firing order is bank one. We have our upstream sensor here closest to the engine ahead of the cat. Then we have our downstream or sensor two here inside of the catalytic convertor. This could also be located somewhere after the cat. Here I have my two sensors for the vehicle. While they are aesthetically different, we can now tell this is my upstream sensor because it looks just like the upstream sensor I have up there. This is my downstream sensor. Now that we know which one's which, we can order the right part, correct the problem, and fix you up right. Thanks for watching. It then relays this information to the ECU to adjust the fuel mixture. If there is too much oxygen in the exhaust, the fuel mixture is too lean, but too little oxygen indicates a rich fuel mixture. If your exhaust sensor is working poorly, or not at all, you may notice a decrease in fuel efficiency, poor engine performance, stalling, hesitation, or a rough idle. The incorrect information being supplied to the ECU creates a poor fuel mixture, and your vehicle will perform poorly. If you have one or more bad oxygen sensors, O'Reilly Auto Parts carries replacement oxygen sensors for most cars, trucks, and SUVs. You should expect to start receiving emails shortly. Analysis was based on 174 cases of first myocardial infarction. Discussion Our population based study differs from controlled trials of antihypertensive treatment as it has a much longer duration of over 20 years. This study shows that hypertensive men treated long term with the same drugs have an increased mortality compared with non-hypertensive men. This was predominantly observed during the latter part of follow up despite good blood pressure control. The higher total mortality rate in treated hypertensive men was due to cardiovascular complications, while mortality from non-cardiovascular causes was lower among treated hypertensive men compared with non-hypertensive men. A carefully structured interventional programme with defined blood pressure targets, regular follow up, and a limited drop out rate does not therefore allow a complete normalisation of cardiovascular risk. On the basis of the difference in risk factor profile at entry between hypertensive and normotensive men, a certain proportion of hypertensive patients probably already had advanced atherosclerosis and hypertensive target organ damage at the start of follow up. The outcome was therefore not unexpected. The strong association between target organ damage at entry to the study and the incidence of ischaemic heart disease underlies the importance to prognosis of cardiovascular abnormalities present before treatment. With the exception of target organ damage and smoking at entry to the study, the strongest association with ischaemic heart disease in treated hypertensive men was baseline cholesterol and achieved cholesterol concentrations. Our programme of lifestyle modifications to control hyperlipidaemia was not, however, very effective. More recently developed pharmacological methods with the use of statins should have a superior preventive effect. 18, 19 There are several possible explanations for the high long term cardiovascular mortality in the hypertensive men.
