It is a 6 digit multimeter with flat frequency response to 100KHz, dB display, frequency counter and distortion analyzer. It also has a super low distortion sine wave generator in it. Most of the other distortion analyzers out there are not auto leveling, you have to null out the original frequency and set the level. This one is auto everything. You can change the frequency and it will track it. You can change the level and it will track it, so you can measure the distortion of an amplifier as you increase the output power.You really want a dual channel so you don't have to constantly go back and forth switching test leads or remember what the reading was for one channel so you can look at the other channel. I have been using a Kikusui AVM-25 for a while that I really like and I have a Leader LMV-189AR coming. I do still use my Fluke 187 DMM for checking individual things like caps and measuring things or when I want to be hyper accurate, but the dual channel mV meter is indispensable when setting levels for anything. I think you are pretty well set for test gear. The only other big things I can think of is a good solder station and at least a good solder sucker or vacuum de-soldering system if you want to go luxury. If you haven't ordered a torque cassette yet, try to get one that measures both reels, not just the take up. That way you can measure back tension too. Now all you need is lots and lots of various wires, clips, and leads!I also bought a DCC for my DAC in order to do DSD upsampling with HQPlayer via my new Network Audio Adapter (NAA) with 10Gbit fiber connectivity. IMO, any hardware-based distortion analyzer worth having will have a residual out connector that allows you to look at the distortion products on the scope. There are used Sound Technology units floating about, which are pretty decent if the photo couplers aren't shot. An old HP 334a can be had cheap, but you may have to tune it up, and the measurement floor isn't that low. Plus, you'll need a low THD signal generator. The HP 339a is way better, but also sells for more. Patience saves money, but I'm all about instant gratification!There are many extremely effective units available on the used market,built by very reputable manufacturers.Some of which go for very low prices.Technical and service information is usually readily available all over the internet for these units.If you are capable of doing your own work,even if you require some guidance,you're laughing. So spend some time doing research, and buy what really works for YOU. Only you can determine what that is. I find the push-button operation a bit annoying, but it gets the job done. IMO, where the thing really shines is if you get a GPIB adapter and can run it under software control.
