HANDLING YOUR TREADMILL: FOLDING THE TREADMILL Folding and unfolding of t his treadmill is made easy wi th the assist ance of gas shoc k. After the treadmill has com e to a complete stop, it is imp ortant to make sure the elevat ion is lowered all the way t o the lowest level before f olding the tr eadmill. Th e display console will indicate “0 elevation” in the lower left window wh en positioned at the lowest level. With caution, fold up the deck slowly wi th both hands. Fold the dec k verticall y upright unti l you hear a click, then the folded deck is locked in plac e. Please note that if you failed to lower th e elevation to the lowest level (0 elevatio n) then the folding safety lock will not click nor lock in plac e. Be certain the fold lock clicks and locks in place, UNFOLDING THE TREADMILL Pull out the lock pin on the upright pos t (L) with your left han d. At t he same time, press the deck slowly with right hand. Use both hands to bring th e deck slowly to the ground. As the deck gets closer to the ground, it will drop at a faster rate and fee l heavier. Please handle with caution. MOVING THE TREADMILL This trea dmill is easy to mo ve around safe ly. T o move the t readmill: 1. T urn po wer switch off. 2. Unplug t he power c ord. 3. Make sure the deck is at 0 grade elevatio n. 4. Fold the treadmill and make sure loc k is engaged. Y ou should hear a click to indicate positive engagement. 5. Simply roll the treadmill on four whee ls to the desired location. STORING THE TREADMILL For safety precaution, e specially when you have children in the hous e, we recommend that you follow these steps to keep the treadmill o ut of potential harm. 1. T urn of f the power switch when you ha ve finished workout. 2. Disconnect the plug from the wall sock et. 3. Remove the safety tether key and store out of reach of children. Flip this switch to th e “ON” position. SAFETY TETHER KEY AND CLIP The safety key is de signed to cut the main po wer to the t readmill should you fall. Th erefore, the safety key is designed to bring the treadmill to a abrupt stop. At high speeds, it m ay be uncomforta ble and somewha t dangerous to co me to a co mplete st op immedi ately. So, use th e safety key as emergency st op only. T o b ring the treadmill to a complete stop safe ly and comfortab ly, us e the red s top butto n. Y our treadmill will not start unless th e safety key is properly in serted into the key holder at the side of the console. The ot her end of the safety key should be se curely clipped to your clothing so that in case you fall, you will pull the safety key from the con sole, which will stop the treadmill immediately to minimize inju ry. For you r safety, never use the treadmill without se curing the safety key clipped to your clothing. Pull on the sa fety key clip to make su re it will n ot come off your c lothing. GETTING ON AND O FF THE TREADMILL Handle with care when getting on or off the tre adm ill. T ry t o use the handlebars while getting on or off safe ly. While you a re preparing to use the treadm ill, do not stand on the run ning belt. Straddle the running belt by placin g your feet on both side rails of the t readmill deck. Place your foot on the belt only after the belt has begun to move at a consistent slow speed. During exerc ise, ke ep your body and he ad facing f orward at all times. Never attemp t to turn around on the treadmill when the ru nning belt is still moving. When you have finishe d exercising, stop th e treadmill by pressing the r ed stop button. W ait until the treadmill comes to a complet e stop before attempting to get off the treadmill. If you feel uneasy with the speed and are not sure how to stop, hold the han dlebars, lift your feet off the running belt a nd place on both sides of the s ide landing. The side landing is a non-movi ng platfor m and w ould be a good place to rest before resu ming th e workout. Always remember to star t at a low speed for your s afety and comfort. WA R N I N G ! NEVER use this treadmill without first securing the safe ty tether clip to yo ur clothing. NOTE! The deck should NOT be folded unless the elevation is at 0 grade. Attempts to fold the deck while it is elevated may cause damage to the frame. Elevation may be manually adjusted e ven while the ru nning belt is not moving, howe ver, during the program setup mode, e levation will not be adjust able. PULSE FUNCTION This treadmill features wireles s heart rate monitorin g, the most adv anced tech nology to d ate for accurate read out of yo ur heart rate. For convenience, this treadmill is also designed to pick up heart rate info via the contact sensors located on the ho rizontal handlebar. T readmill will look for wireles s pulse signal f irst. If no wireless pulse signal is pres ent, then treadmill w ill look for the signal from contac t sensors. T o use the wireless pulse monitoring system, yo u must wear the heart rate transmitte r chest strap. Place the contact surf ace next to your skin directly under your heart to pick up the pulse signals from your heart. The heart rate trans mitter strap is a n optional purchase and not included with this treadm ill. T o use the contact heart rate, plac e your hands gently but firmly around the contact sensors on the handlebars. Movements in the hands may cau se difficu lty for the treadmill to pick up the signal properly. When signal is picked up, the LED light ne xt to the pulse display window will light up and flash to the rate of your heart beat. Please note that some fibers used in c lothes (e.g. polyester, polyamide) create static electricity which may prevent reliab le heart rate measurem ent. Also, note that mobile phone, televisi on and other electrical appliances f orm an elec tro-magnetic field a round them, which may also cause problems in hea rt rate measurement. P AUSE FUNCTION When ST OP butto n is pressed during workout, the program is susp ended. After the runnin g belt has c ome to a complet e stop, dis play will c ount down from 03:00. During pause mod e, If ST ART is press ed within three minute s during the pause mode, the treadm ill will bring the running belt movement back to the speed at which the treadmill was paused. W orkout values will resume counting and contin ue where it left off. If STOP is pressed during th e paus e mode, t he progr am will en d. After three min utes if no button is pressed, trea dmill will automatically end the wo rkout program. END OF WORKOUT ST A TS When you have completed your workout or if yo u have ended your workou t, the display w indows will report you r workout stats for one mi nute. After the running belt has com e to a complete stop, the displays wi ll show total time, total distance, tot al calories and average spee d. Then the display will go to idle mode, ready f or the next workout setup. If you wish to skip th e workout stats report, simp ly press the STOP butt on, which w ill skip display t o the idle mod e. UNIT CONVERSION T o change units from metric to English or Eng lish to metric, you must be in the idle mode. Follow the steps be low to make the u nit conv ersion. 1. Simultaneously pres s both the STOP and SLOW together. 2. The message center will display “unit”. 3. Simply press ST ART to confi rm. Notice that the LED lights next to both the speed and distance display windo ws on the upper right corner will have c hanged the measurement unit accordingly. The user may select to stead ily view only calories or only pulse (HOLD ). COOL DOWN Whenever you are re ady to stop your workou t, even if you are in the middle of a program, be sure to use the COOL DOWN program. Whe n the cool down button is pressed, it will automatically inte rrupt the current wo rkout and go directly into cool down routine, which is programmed for four mi nutes. The first two minutes will reduc e speed and eleva tion by 50 of The last two minutes will reduce speed by another 50 and the elevati on will redu ce to 0. T o end workout, simply press the ST OP butto n to stop the treadmill. During manua l quick start workout, tim e will count up. During othe r program workouts, time will count down. 1. Press ST ART to begin workout SPEED PROGRAMS: Once the power swit ch is turned on and the safet y key is secured in place, you ma y press the PROGRAM button to choose the pre-set speed program P1, press ST ART key to activate the treadmill. Where user may cust omize, the defaul t value (or the previou s input value) will flash indicating that yo u may either confirm the value flashing or change the v alue. Once you have made your data input, press ST ART to activate the t readmill. 1. T urn po wer on 2. Check safet y key secure d to treadmill and clip secure d to user clothing 3. Press the PROGRAM button once, PI (speed program) will be displayed 4. Press ENTER to confirm 5. Use F AST or SLOW buttons to input work out time 6. Press ENTER to confirm 7. Use F AST or SLOW buttons to input intensity level ba sed on maximum speed 8. Press ENTER to confirm, program will beg in workout ELEV A TION PROGRAMS: Once the power witch is turned on and the safety key is secured in pla ce, you may press the PROGRAM bu tton twice to choos e the pr e-set elevat ion progr am P2. Where user may customize, the default value (or the previous input value) will flash indicating that you may eithe r confirm the value f lashing or change the value.Once the powe r switch is turned on and the safety key is secured in place, you may press the PROGRAM b utton to ch oose one of the tar get progra m, P3 set training target bas ed on time and P4 set tra ining target based on distanc e. Where user may custom ize, the def ault value (or the p revious input value) will f lash i ndicating that you ma y either confirm the va lue flashing or change the value. Once the powe r switch is turned on, and the safety key is secured in place, you may press the PROGRAM button to select H-SE progr am, H-S program o r H-E progr am. Where user may customize, th e default value (or t he previous input value) will flash indicating that you may either confirm the value flashing or change the v alue. On ce you have mad e your data input, press ST ART to act ivate the treadmill. T readmill will automatically adjust by elevat ion or speed or both (depending on which program is chosen) to reach an d maintain th e user’s target heart rate. During workout, u sers may still be able to adjust sp eed or elevation. During work out, time counts down from total time, which is defined as time for workout an d cool do wn. At the end of the workout, tre admill will automa tically go into cool down mo de. C ool down mode is pre-set up for 4 minutes. In the first two minutes, speed and elevation will reduce by 50. The last two minutes, sp eed will reduce by anothe r 50 and elevation will go to 0. T o use the heart rate control programs, use r must wear wireless transmitter chest strap. Press ST ART to begin wo rkout If the speed adjus tment increme nt is large, it is eas ier to use the number buttons, wh ich function as direct speed cont rol buttons during the workout. Another way to adju st speed is to press the extension -keys on the handle bar cover. Also, we could press and hold the F AST button or extension-key F AST until the speed display shows 8 MPH. ELEV A TION ADJUSTMENTS: For safety reasons, the elev ation level is des igned to be manually adju sted for most application s. The treadmill will only automatically adjust elevation du ring one of the following three programs: elevatio n progr am, HRC a djust by elevatio n, and fitness test. Elevation may be ad justed ev en while the running belt is not moving. However, during th e program setup mode, ele vation will not be adjustable. There are two ways to adjust elev ation during workout: UP and DOWN on the console, extension-k ey UP and DOWN on the ha ndle bar cover. The butto ns will adjust elevation by increments of 1. PULSE FUNCTION: This treadmi ll features wireless hear t rate monitor ing, the mos t advanced te chnology to date for accurate read o ut of your heart rate. T readmill will look for wireless pulse signal first. If no wi rele ss pulse signal is present, then treadmill will look for the sign al from contact sensors. T o use the wireless pulse mo nitoring s ystem, you must wear a heart rate transmitter chest str ap (optional). For best results, pla ce the contact surfa ce next to your skin directly under you r heart to pick u p the puls e signals from your heart. The hear t rate trans mitter s trap is an o ptional purchase and not includ ed with this treadmill. Movemen ts in the hands may cause dif ficulty for the treadmill to pick up the signal properly. Also, note that mobile phone, televisi on P AUSE FUNCTION: When ST OP button is pressed during workout, program is su spended. Message center will flash “WORKOUT P AUSED”. Afte r the running belt has come to a comple te stop, dot matrix display window will count down from 3:00. During pa use mode, only ST ART a nd STOP buttons will function. If ST ART is pressed with in three minute s during the pau se mode, treadmill will bring the ru nning belt movement ba ck to the speed at which the treadmill was paused. Wo rkout values will resume counting and contin ue where it was left off. If STOP is pressed during the pause mode, progra m will end. After three min utes if no button is pressed, treadmill will automat ically end the workout program. END OF WORKOUT ST A TS: When you have completed your workout or if yo u have ended your workou t, the display w ill report your wo rkout stats. After the ru nning belt has come to a complete stop, the mess age center will display total time, total distance, total calorie s and average speed twice. Then th e display will go to idle mode, re ady for the next user workout setup. If you wish to ski p the workout stats report, simp ly press the STOP button, wh ich w ill skip display t o the idle mode. UNIT CONVERSION: T o change from metric to Englis h or English to metric, you must be in the idle mode, where the dot matrix window di splays a flashing hea rt. Message center will prompt user to set up workout target valu e. Once you have made your selection, pres s ST ART key to activate the treadm ill. During workout, u sers may adjust speed and or e lev ation at will. T o end workout, simply p ress the stop button to st op the tread mill. Me ssage center will prompt us er to set up wo rkout step-by-step. Once you have made your selection, press ST ART butt on to activate the tre admill. During warm up mode, target heart rate training fu nction will not be in operation.
