You can use the RAID feature to set up a disk array configuration and to support additional IDE devices.Lack of sufficient air flow within the system may damage the motherboard components. These are not jumpers. DO NOT place jumper caps on the fan connectors. Connect the bracket cable to this connector then install the bracket into a slot opening at the back of the system chassis. The plugs from the power supply are designed to fit these connectors in only one orientation. Find the proper orientation and push down firmly until the connectors completely fit. The minimum recommended wattage is 300W, or 350W for a fully configured system. The system may become unstable or may not boot up if the power is inadequate. The USB header complies with USB 2.0 specification that supports up to 480 Mbps connection speed. This speed advantage over the conventional 12 Mbps on USB 1.1 allows faster Internet connection, interactive gaming, and simultaneous running of high-speed peripherals. Doing so will damage the motherboard!2-28 Chapter 2: Hardware information Attach the 10-1 pin cable plug to thiss connector. You may also connect a 1394-compliant internal hard disk to this connector. Doing so will damage the motherboard!ASUS K8V SE Deluxe motherboard 2-29 When you remove any chassis component, the sensor triggers and sends a high-level signal to this lead to record a chassis intrusion event. By default, the pins labeled “Chassis Signal” and “Ground” are shorted with a jumper cap. If you wish to use the chassis intrusion detection feature, remove the jumper cap from the pins.Pressing the power switch turns the system between ON and SLEEP, or ON and SOFT OFF, depending on the BIOS or OS settings. Now the computer runs slowly and takes forever to do even simple tasks but I give it 5 starts for still working after years of abuse. Cons: retro (not really a con) Did you find this review helpful. This board is fantastic. Literature is thorough and easy to follow. Quality is very good. My only suggestion to ASUS would be to make the leads on the included USB expansion plate 2 inches longer. I have the panel in the highest rear case opening for ease of use (also the case opening doesn't line up with any slots in the mobo)and the cables barely reach around my AGP video card. I HIGHLY recommend this mobo. My Rig. Rosewill R114A-SLV Silver Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 400W Power Supply. ASUS K8V SE DELUXE Socket 754 VIA K8T800 ATX AMD Motherboard. I had a lot of problems with my prior board (LanParty nft Ultra) because of the chipset (Nvidia) and figured that I would try Via and everything works fine. I have it hooked to my 2 HD's in raid 0. I had trouble with a SATA drive earlier in life and have thus far not tried it again, but its nice to know that this board has 4 of them and all are raid enabled. I have this board in the Thermaltake Aser III case and it has all the connections to all of the built in connectors located on the top of the case which is a plus. The only problem that I had with this was that the onboard lan does't work, Windows XP recognizes it but my router will not recognise that there is anything connected to it. I need my comp so I just bought a pci NIC and all is well. I could very easily send it back and get a new one. The only problem that I had on install was that I needed to copy the PATA RAID drivers over to a floppy before I installed the board, but it says to do just that in the manual. Overall a great board and I will be buying another for another upgrade. Did you find this review helpful. Did you find this review helpful. This motherboard is outstanding. Super stable, quick, nice BIOS. The only negative to this motherboard is they don't provide the SATA drivers on a floppy for you, so you need another computer to copy them from the provided CD. But if you're not installing your OS to a SATA drive, you don't need to worry about it. My System: (gaming rig). Asus K8VSE-Deluxe. Corsair XMS DDR400 2-2-2-5 512x2. ATI Radeon X800Pro. I've tested the PSU, CPU, RAM, video card, and so the only thing else there is to not be working right is the mobo.
