Microprocessor 8.4 Rev 2.2 User Manual Microprocessor 8.4 Rev 2.2 User Manual Type: User Manual Category: Computer Hardware Pages: 14 Size: 0.69 MB This manual contains important information on how to employ all the features of your new dryer in the safest and most economical way. This product embodies advanced concepts in engineering, design, and safety. If this product is properly maintained, it will provide many years of safe, efficient, and trouble free operation. We have tried to make this manual as complete as possible and hope you will find it useful. The manufacturer reserves the right to make changes from time to time, without notice or obligation, in prices, specifications, colors, and material, and to change or discontinue models. These instructions must be posted in a prominent location near the dryer. This is to indicate the need for a setting to be pressed to restart dryer. As coins or debit inputs arrive, the display will change to lead the user through the initiation of a cycle. Pressing and holding the HIGH or LOW key for 3-seconds will allow the time to be adjusted. Pressing HIGH will increase the time in 1 minute units and pressing LOW will decrease the time in 1 minute units. Once the desired time is chosen, pressing MED will save the new time. Releasing PAUSE then pressing any key will not clear credit.http://superbia.lgbt/flotaganis/1653205186 You can find a detailed description of the preset cycles in the chart on page 8. While a cycle is running you can press the STOP button once to pause the cycle or twice to clear it completely. Once this is done, the computer will be automatically entered into the Service Mode. The MEDIUM key will enter program locations and save changes made. The LOW key is used to decrease numbers and scan through menu locations. To back out of a program location hit the PAUSE key. The DOWN ARROW is used to decrease numbers and scan through menu locations. This is meant to be an example as there are many options and ways to program this controller. All programming parameters and options are explained in the following section “programming selections”. 1. Once the desired cycle is highlighted, press and hold the STOP and then ENTER. This will allow the user to view and edit each particular cycle’s settings. Using the UP and DOWN ARROW keys will allow the user to scan through the settings. Pressing the ENTER key while the setting is highlighted, will allow the user to adjust that particular setting. Up to 16 characters are available for each cycle name. The name will change to 16 underlined character spaces. Pressing STOP will exit out of the “CYCLE NAME” menu and none of the changes will be saved. Example: The available characters are A-Z, space, 0-9, and This main menu will serve as the gateway to all of the PROGRAM Mode features. The features include MACHINE INFO, PROGRAM SETUP, DIAGNOSTIC MODE, MACHINE SETUP, and FACTORY SETTINGS. The currently selected menu item will appear with a box around it. If the menu contains a list of items that will lead to a sub-menu, then the items will be listed in ascending numbered order starting at one. Once the item is selected and entered, the controls will go to the sub-menu. If the menu item does not lead to a sub-menu, the items will only be listed and not numbered.https://www.micromegamondo.com/images/92-chevy-silverado-manual-transmission.pdf When the item is selected and entered, the selected item will become highlighted. Some of these items without a sub-menu do contain selectable parameters. These parameters will be viewed to the right of the item. Once the item is highlighted, the parameter can be changed. When the diagnostic menu is first selected, the controls will prompt the user to start a cycle as seen below. If no fault(s) have been recorded, then “NO UPPER FAULTS” will be displayed. If no fault(s) has been recorded, then “NO LOWER FAULTS” will be displayed. An event failure is one that would still allow the dryer to run in a safe condition. The number after the “E” code indicates the amount of times that event failure occurred. The 13 Event Code failures are listed in the following table. Once a cycle is selected, the unit will enter into Running Mode. The cycle’s time and temperature will correspond to the selected cycle’s parameter settings under SETUP Mode.Once the cycle has finished the control should return to operating in the normal Customer Mode. If a fault occurs during Diagnostic Mode, the control will enter into a fault cool down and the occurring fault will be displayed. The fault can be cleared by reentering the diagnostic cycle. When a feature is highlighted, the center section will list that feature and its current status. The items in the help menu will refer to the current running cycle that was selected in Diagnostic Mode. For example, highlighting “S” will show the status of the sail switch. The table below shows the standard features available and the symbol they correlate with. The last item listed in the code menu will identify the revision of the software that is being used on the control board. All CODES starting with an “H” represent some condition that could interfere with the proper functioning of the dryer. This two digit code will reflect a particular issue. There is an automatic fault clearing feature for this fault. If the fault condition no longer exists, the control will clear the fault condition and return to READY Mode. There is an automatic fault clearing feature for this fault. If the fault condition no longer exists, the control will clear the fault condition and return to READY Mode. The control will allow the sail switch 10-seconds to open before the control faults out with a SAIL SWITCH CLOSED FAULT. Once a SAIL SWITCH CLOSED FAULT is detected the control will log the fault and will not allow the cycle to continue. The control will display “SAIL SWITCH CLOSED FAULT, SELECT CYCLE TO RESTART, when the fault is detected. If the sail switch does not close within the allotted 10-seconds the control will log the fault and will not allow the cycle to continue. The control will display “SAIL SWITCH OPEN FAULT, CHECK MAIN DOOR AND LINT ACCESS AND SELECT CYCLE TO RESTART”. A sail switch open fault can also occur once a cycle is in process. If the control detects that the sail switch has opened, the heat will immediately turn off and if the sail switch fails to close within the allotted 30-seconds, the control will fault and display “SAIL SWITCH OPEN FAULT, CHECK MAIN DOOR AND LINT ACCESS AND SELECT CYCLE TO RESTART”. If this fault occurs in Ready or Vending Modes, the control will log the fault and display “OUT OF ORDER”. Once the control enters READY Mode and the fault has not been corrected or cleared, the control will display “OUT OF ORDER”. The fault is self clearing; therefore, once communication is reestablished, the control will clear the OUT OF ORDER condition and allow full dryer functionality again. If the coin input is blocked for more than 8-seconds the control will go to out of order and will not allow the control to start a cycle. This fault has both automatic and manual fault clearing. If the condition is corrected the control will recover from out of order immediately after the blockage is no longer seen. The way this fault works is if the dryer is reversing and is running a cycle that has the reversing option enabled, if a rotation sensor fault condition is detected, the drive output would be shut off. Then the dryer will transition to a reversing drive output. If the dryer continues to run without an issue, the machine will continue to run with the forward drive output disabled until the next cycle is started. If the Reversing Mode also fails the control will enter a ROTATION SENSOR FAULT disabling the machine. The next cycle should operate with both drive outputs, that way, if the issue still exists the control will fault out again disabling the fault drive output. If the control senses a lack of water pressure, this event will appear. OBSERVE ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS displayed on the equipment or specified in the installation manual included with the dryer. Page 4 SECTION I SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WARNING: For your safety, the information in this manual must be followed to minimize the risk of fire or explosion or to prevent property damage, personal injury, or loss of life. WARNING: The dryer must never be operated with any of the back guards, outer tops, or service panels removed. PERSONAL INJURY OR FIRE COULD RESULT. 1. DO NOT store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance. 2. Page 5 WARNING: DO NOT use heat for drying articles that contain plastic, foam, sponge rubber, or similarly textured rubberlike materials. Drying in a heated tumbler may damage plastics or rubber and may be a fire hazard. 7. A program should be established for the inspection and cleaning of lint in the burner area, exhaust ductwork, and area around the back of the dryer. The frequency of inspection and cleaning can best be determined from experience at each location. IMPORTANT: The dryer must be transported and handled in an upright position at ALL times. The dryer can be moved to its final location while still attached to the skid or with the skid removed. Page 10 2. If more headroom is needed when moving the dryer into position, the top console (module) may be removed. a. To Remove Top Console (module). 1) Disconnect the ground wire (A in the illustration below) located at the rear upper left corner of the dryer. 2) Remove the eight (8) sets of nuts and washers (B in the illustration below) holding the console (module) to the base. Page 11 C. DRYER ENCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS Bulkheads and partitions should be made of noncombustible material. NOTE: Allowances must be made for opening the control door. A 40-inches (101.6 cm) for optimum opening of load door. B The maximum thickness of the bulkhead is 4-inches (10.16 cm). C A minimum overhead clearance of 12-inches (30.48 cm) is required, providing no sprinkler is located above the dryer. D The dryer should be positioned 24-inches (60.96 cm) away from the nearest obstruction and 36-inches (91. Page 12 D. FRESH AIR SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS When the dryer is operating, it draws in room air, heats it, passes this air through the tumbler, and exhausts it out of the building. Therefore, the room air must be continually replenished from the outdoors. If the make-up air is inadequate, drying time and drying efficiency will be adversely affected. Ignition problems and sail switch “fluttering” problems may result, as well as premature motor failure from overheating. Page 13 E. EXHAUST REQUIREMENTS 1. General Exhaust Ductwork Information Exhaust ductwork should be designed and installed by a qualified professional. Improperly sized ductwork will create excessive back pressure which results in slow drying, increased use of energy, overheating of the dryer, and shutdown of the burner by the airflow (sail) switches, burner hi-limits, or tumbler hi-heat thermostats. The dryer must be installed with a proper exhaust duct connection to the outside. Page 14 NOTE: As per the National Fuel Gas Code, “Exhaust ducts for Type 2 clothes dryers shall be constructed of sheet metal or other noncombustible material. Page 15 IMPORTANT: Exhaust back pressure measured by a manometer at each tumbler exhaust duct area must be no less than 0 and must not exceed 0.6 inches (1.48 mb) of water column (W.C.). It is suggested that the ductwork from each dryer not exceed 15 feet (4.57 meters) with no more than three (3) elbows (excluding dryer connections). If the ductwork exceeds 15 feet (4.57 meters) or has numerous elbows, the cross-sectional area of the ductwork must be increased in proportion to the length and number of elbows in it. Page 16 NOTE: When the exhaust ductwork passes through a wall, ceiling, or roof made of combustible materials, the opening must be 2-inches (5.08 cm) larger than the duct (all the way around). The duct must be centered within this opening. Page 17 The ductwork should be smooth inside with no projections from sheet metal screws or other obstructions, which will collect lint. When adding ducts, the duct to be added should overlap the duct to which it is to be connected. ALL ductwork joints must be taped to prevent moisture and lint from escaping into the building. Inspection doors should be installed at strategic points in the exhaust ductwork for periodic inspection and cleaning of lint from the ductwork. This is to ensure that the electrical installation is adequate and conforms to local and state regulations or codes. When ordering, specify exact voltage. NOTES: A. B. C. When fuses are used they must be dual element, time delay, current limiting, class RK1 or RK5 ONLY. The ground connection may be to a proven earth ground at the location service panel. Page 22 G. GAS INFORMATION It is your responsibility to have ALL plumbing connections made by a qualified professional to ensure that the gas plumbing installation is adequate and conforms to local and state regulations or codes. CHECK LOCAL CODES AND PERMITS Call your local water company or the proper municipal authority for information regarding local codes. IMPORTANT: It is your responsibility to have ALL plumbing connections made by a qualified professional to ensure that the plumbing installation is adequate and conforms to local, state, and federal regulations or codes. Page 26 OPTIONAL MANUAL BYPASS Provisions are made in the dryer’s fire suppression system for the installation of an optional manual bypass. The connections for the manual bypass are made at the “tee” or “three way” fitting, located in the outlet supply side of the water solenoid valve. The manual ball cock shutoff valve must be located outside of the dryer at a distance from the dryer where it is easily accessible. However, a preoperational test should be performed before the dryer is publicly used. It is possible that adjustments have changed in transit or due to marginal location (installation) conditions. 1. Page 28 IMPORTANT: There is no regulator provided in an L.P. dryer. The water column (W.C.) pressure must be regulated at the source (L.P. tank) or an external regulator must be added to each dryer. 6. Make a complete operational check of ALL safety-related circuits (i.e., lint drawer switch and sail switch on gas models). NOTE: To check for proper sail switch operation, open the main door and while holding main door switch plunger in, start the dryer. Page 29 The L.E.D. display will read MANUAL DRYING CYCLE D, 00:00 MIN REMAIN. If service is required, contact the reseller from whom the ADC equipment was purchased. If the reseller cannot be contacted or is unknown, contact the ADC Service Department for a reseller in your area. Page 32 SECTION V WARRANTY INFORMATION A. RETURNING WARRANTY CARDS Before any dryer leaves the ADC factory test area, a warranty card is placed on the back side of the main door glass. These warranty cards are intended to serve the customer where we record the individual installation date and warranty information to better serve you should you file a warranty claim. NOTE: If a part is marked for a credit or a refund, the invoice number covering the purchase of the replacement part must be provided. NOTE: Warranty tags (ADC Part No. The frequency of cleaning can best be determined from experience at each location. Maximum operating efficiency is dependent upon proper air circulation. The accumulation of lint can restrict this airflow. Page 35 6 MONTHS Inspect and remove lint accumulation in customer furnished exhaust ductwork system and from dryer’s internal exhaust ducting. If the burner hi-limit is open prior to the start of the drying cycle, the dryer will start momentarily and then shut down, the Phase 7 computer will display “BURNER HIGH LIMIT FAULT” with an audio indication. This information is on the dryer data label that is affixed to the right electrical control panel. When the gas burner ignites within the chosen trial for ignition time (6-seconds), the flame sensor detects gas burner flame and signals the DSI module to keep the gas valve open as long as there is a call for heat. The DSI module will “LOCKOUT” if the gas burner flame is not sensed at the end of the trial for ignition period.
