The clean, crunch, and ultra channels setup very well for pristine cleans, chunky rhythm, and killer lead channel. Just used for a few big gigs. From my experience. I've noticed that Peavey Manufactured several different head and speaker cab models. 5150, XXX, JSX etc.some were wired up series and some were wired up parallel. One way cuts the impedance in half as you add more cabs the other doubles it. I purchased this head brand new and only used it with the JSX cabinets. So he replaced the front faceplate with that of a Peavey XXX II.because he figured it was pretty much the same amplifier. Let me tell you. Triple XXX faceplate or not, this head is Joe Satriani approved all the way through. The cleans are nice and round and clear, the crunch is super use-usable and musical, and the high gain, well.it's got the heritage and the family name that is backed up by its amazing sound.
