The next step was to attach the wheels; this was really simple to do and didn’t take me long. The big air wheels go on the back of the stroller and simply click into place on the side. The smaller wheels go at the front and need to be positioned up right and clicked into place.I found the best instructions were provided in the written manual and didn’t really find the images incredibly useful. When you have two children so close in age, practicality is what actually sells a pushchair to you. To get two kiddies around you need something that ticks all your boxes in function, how the kid’s sit, where they sit and how easy the overall operation of the stroller is. Joovy have also been improving the seat recline on this latest model, and it now features a magnetic recline lock so that you can make seat adjustments quickly and easily. We are currently sporting the tray as I thought this may be the more useful option for Leo at present. By squeezing the red grip on the right hand side you can actually swing the tray up so that you can get your little one in and out easily. You could fit so much in there that you may decide to leave your changing bag at home, just like we did. The car seat adapter attaches so that the baby is facing you and within easy reach, giving you the perfect view of everything that they do. This is great as if you already have a car seat, you don’t need the added expense of purchasing a new one. This has been specifically improved for this model after all of the customer feedback was taken into consideration. The giant canopy is there to provide sun protection to both the children riding in the tandem and it certainly does keep them covered. There is a zippered open top which allows the child in the back to stand should they wish. It is not an issue and the canopy just stays put. This new suspension improves the over all performance of the rubber wheels, providing the kiddly winks riding along a smoother ride. What I really like is the included car seat adapter which makes this tandem stroller suitable from day 1. I have found it a little heavy and it does not fit in the boot of my 206 but it is certainly not the heaviest double I have ever come across. Of course with the bulk of the stroller you also get the sturdiness, and this stroller is incredibly sturdy. Leo absolutely loves to sit on the rear seat, I think he thinks it’s a hiding place or even a play house. The times I have caught him climbing in it when I have left it up in the hallway! If we are really packing things, I use a bag over my shoulder. We liked the size when folded; it was a major factor in our decision of which double stroller to get. It fits in the trunk of my Mazda protege and my husband's VW jetta (not a wagon) although it fits best if you remove the sun shade, and it does take up a lot of room in the trunk. We have taken the stroller on 8 airplanes all over the country in the year we have had it. It was fantastic in the airport which was one reason we got it. However, the baby foot rest broke on the first flight; the metal bar is not very durable to endure airport handling, even when checked plane-side.But even with that wear and tear in one year, the stroller is used a TON and we absolutely LOVE it. I am a big fan of Sit-n-Stand strollers and Joovy is a top of the line baby gear company. Win-win for me! I couldn’t wait to test it out. It took my husband about 15 minutes total to complete the assembly of the double stroller. Max Height Max Height It includes two large handles on either side of the stroller for the child to ride safely while standing. All opinions are my own. I love this feature!! It includes a 5 point buckle system with three height options. The Joovy Ergo Caboose offers a front seat swing out tray which allows the parent to easily load and unload their child. The front tray is removable and Joovy includes optional cup holders to put in its place. This option is good once your child is a bit older and does not need the tray for snacks and toys. It rides smooth, is fairly easy to open and close and looks great. I have two cons to this amazing stroller; one would be that it does not have a free-standing option. In my personal experience most strollers allow for it to stand upright for easy loading and unloading into the vehicle, and garage storage. I would love to see Joovy create a “fix” for this option to be included with the stroller. I also prefer a one-hand unfold option. The Ergo has a latch on either side that has to be unfastened to open the stroller making it a two-step process instead of one. For ultimate comfort and a splash of color the optional Deluxe Seat Covers provide heavy-duty padding and they are available in 7 different colors. You can also purchase a Ergo Parent Organizer. I couldn’t have a stroller without cup holders and a place to store my phone, keys, etc. I like that the organizer includes a zippered pouch as well. I know Joovy wouldn't advertise this use, but it works so well for us! - Tires and frame are well made - I love the versatility of being able to configure either a tray, just 1 or even 2 cup holders in the front. CONS - Even the lowest shoulder strap hole is placed WAY TOO HIGH. I'm trying to transition my 6 month old baby to the front, but the shoulder straps are a good 3 inches too high. This isn't an issue with my other 2 strollers. This MUST be fixed Joovy so we can use it as a sit n' stand. - When my 26 pound, 2 year old sits in the front, I can't get over any curb or bump. I have to walk around to the front of the stroller and lift it up over even the smallest curve. Such a pain! - The design for opening the stroller is NOT intuitive. There's no way grandparents or babysitters will be able to figure this thing out without you showing them. It took both my parents and I (all college graduates:) reading the instructions and 20 minutes to get it open. The trick is the wheels HAVE to be locked and you have to lean the top of the stroller at an angle toward you to have gravity help open the side clasps. - It will only fit at an angle in the back of my pathfinder (not space efficient at all). I had read this in a review, but I thought I'd figure out a way. I was able to barely (and I mean barely) keep 1 of my 3rd row seats up and fit this stroller at just the right angle and still close the back. The issue is that darn canopy. We cannot for the life of us get that thing off. It is supposed to be removable, but even with my husband and I squeezing the release with both hands, we can't get it out. If the canopy was off, we'd be able to fit it vertical in the back of our car. Bottom Line: This is a well-made stroller that rides smooth. There are some strange quirks (listed in cons above) that make what could be the best stroller I ever purchased annoying. If I had to buy all over again, I think I'd just purchase the Joovy Caboose Stand On Tandem Stroller. So far I have only used it with the infant seat in the back. When my 4 year old was riding in the front it was nearly impossible to steer by myself. I had to have my husband help me go over every curb. The tires are ALWAYS going flat and there is no easy way to inflate them while on the go. The pump that comes with them is nearly impossible to use without removing the tire. Price and quality were what we were looking for. This was really easy to put together. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the stroller doesn't seem to stand up while in a folded position. Otherwise its great. The basket underneath is huge. We love that there is a spot for one the kids to stand if they wanted to. Another plus is that the box makes a great rocket ship for 3 year holds. Janice 2.0 out of 5 stars My husband tried to pump air into it but it didn't help. It looked like it had a tear on it. We never even used it on rugged terrain, only on concrete and grass. Its hard to maneuver now. I'm updating this review to 2 stars only because the tires break down easily, and if the tires break down, the whole stroller is pretty much useless. Too bad I can't return it anymore. It's longer compared to other double strollers because it has more room for the kids (so they're not cramped up). Even with the length, it's pretty light. I'm able to lift it up and store it in the trunk of my car. It folds easily as well. It has a big canopy that covers my 3 year old son (who sits in front) from the heat of the sun. It comes with a car seat adapter that fits my newborn sons' maxi cosi car seat perfectly. It is very easy to maneuver, considering its size. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is after putting the stroller together, it had a flat tire. It was hard to maneuver in the beginning and my husband was trying to figure out why. As soon as he put air in the tires, it solved the problem. The manual that came with it was also a bit hard to figure out. I have the safety 1st 35 carseat and it fits perfect.The stoller was easy for me to manuever around 2 weeks post c section.If you dont like it you can always return it. Just try it out. I have a 7-month old, a 4 year-old, and a 6 year-old. Obviously the 7 month old is still in a stroller, but my 4-year-old still gets tired after walking a longer distance or towards the end of the day. Enter the Joovy Caboose VaryLight. It’s such a flexible stroller that can fit pretty much any situation. For example, the Caboose VaryLight can take 2 car seats (with the optional car seat adapter), one car seat with a sitting or standing child, or one child sitting in the front and one child sitting or standing in the back! He usually sits, because he loves the padded seat! ?? The Caboose VaryLight comes in charcoal, purpleness, and black, and with a graphite frame in blueberry, red, black and charcoal. I was so happy when I opened the box and discovered ours was the Purpleness color. I majorly HEART anything that is purple, and this color is a beautiful, rich plum color (it’s hard to convey in some of these pics!). All I had to do was attach the wheels and the snack tray. When I tried to adjust the VaryLight from the short to the long frame, I had a little trouble. This was easily remedied with a quick call to the Joovy customer service line. One of the reasons (there are many!) that I love Joovy so much is that you can always call the customer service number and speak to an actual person from the start. My call was answered with “Hi, this is Dan from Joovy, how can I help you?” Dan solved my problem in a grand total of 5 seconds. It’s so refreshing to speak to a person from the get go, especially when you are a little challenged with assembly, like I am! It’s perfect for the baby and my “end of the day” tired 4-year old. He loves it, and specifically requests the “purple stroller!” I love that it fits both kids, and it’s super easy to fold with one hand. Notify me of new posts by email. I loved the look of the stroller and knew I’d be the super cool mommy strolling around the park while pushing it. The Ergo Caboose is a stroller for two, best suited for families with children of different ages. Once the box arrived I couldn’t wait to tear into it. I pulled the stroller out and dove right into getting it assembled. I’m not much of a direction-reading person, but I didn’t even know where to start with this stroller. The manual was helpful and had great pictures to help me along. It took me a good 30 to 45 minutes to get the stroller together. One of the most difficult parts was unpacking on the pieces. Everything was tied so tightly I was afraid I was going to scratch up the stroller trying to use the scissors. Once I finally got everything unpacked, it was relatively easy to assemble. I did have some trouble inflating the back tires and had to get my husband to help. I felt like the materials were great quality and made to last, and I really liked how the wheels were rubber instead of plastic. The Ergo Caboose also has a universal attachment for a car seat. My youngest is over the minimum age limit of 6 months and able to sit in the front, but I like having the option of using the stroller as a travel system, and I’m sure parents of younger infants will too. When the car seat is attached, the baby is positioned closest to the parent and the older child is in the front seat. The attachment was fairly easy to put onto the stroller and allows you to use any car seat. I could not find a weight limit for the adapter but I am assuming it is the same weight limit as the car seat. I buckled my 9-month-old into the front seat to check it out, she seemed content as long as the stroller was moving. The straps were easy to adjust, although my husband had some trouble figuring them out. The seat is designed to not put pressure on any of your child’s pressure points. The seat has a mesh make-up, which almost allows the passenger to feel as if she is “floating.” This seems comfortable, and I think the mesh is great for hot summer days, but I’m not crazy about the mesh seat for the winter months. For the price of the stroller, however, I wish the cover was included. The seat reclines easily to about a 45-degree angle. It’s not really far enough back for baby to sleep, so I can’t see using the recline much. The upright position is close to 90 degrees though, so if your baby is not a good sitter, you may need to have the seat reclined for more support. The weight limit is 45 pounds for the front seat and 40 inches tall with a minimum age of 6 months. The seat is slightly rounded and padded, making it comfortable for the child. I was happy to see that there is an easy-to-adjust strap to buckle the child in—this was necessary as my daughter wanted to jump up and run out. I’m sure though as she gets older (and a little more settled down) this seat might work better for her. While riding, she kept trying to get up and put her feet on the wheels while we were moving, causing the stroller to stop or her foot to stuck. As far as her standing on the platform, this isn’t something she’s ready for at her age. There is no strap at all when they are standing, not even one behind them in case they lose their balance. There are nice handles, however, and this would be a good option for a 4-year-old. The weight and height limits for the rear seat are 45 pounds and 44 inches. My two favorite features of the stroller are the large canopy and the basket underneath. The canopy is very large, providing great sun protection for both children as long as they are sitting. When the child in the rear is not sitting, you can remove the cover over the back portion to make room for her to stand. This is very easy to do, but I did have some trouble keeping this detachable part of the canopy correctly attached. It was also easy for my daughter to grab it and detach it from the sides. The only drawback to a tandem double stroller is that you can’t really see the child in the front. The large canopy doesn’t have a peek-a-boo window, so you have to go around the front to see the baby. I love, love, love the basket under the stroller. Not only is it large, but also easy to get to because the bench seat folds up for accessibility. I can actually get the diaper bag in this way. My only complaint is that I have to unbuckle my daughter and have her get up every time I want to get something from the basket. A small price to pay for a large storage basket. I wish that the Ergo Caboose included a cup holder included for the parents. There is a good sized snack try for the child in the front. The cup holder is somewhat small, and the sippy cups we own won’t fit in it. It is detachable, however, and the stroller also comes with two cup holders you can attach instead of the tray. The only problem this poses in my household is that one kid can reach two drinks and the other kid can’t reach any. The Joovy Ergo Caboose is perfect for strolling in a park or around the neighborhood. It rolls easy and turns easily as well. Because of its 49-inch length, it is somewhat hard to maneuver around sharp turns in a store, but this is a problem with most any double stroller. The stroller is easy to fold and unfold in just one step. You do have to use two hands, but it’s not complicated. You also need to be sure the brake is on. Another great thing about the Ergo Caboose is that the brakes are attached so when you lock one wheel you lock both. The locks are at the bottom and easy to engage with your foot. When the stroller is locked into the folded position, it can stand on its own. It is large and could not fit in the trunk of my husband’s car. I drive a minivan and usually have the back seat down in order to keep the stroller in the van and have room to put other items. The stroller definitely takes up all the space in the back if I don’t fold the seat down.
