The John Deere Service Manual is highly detailed with photos and illustrations to help guide you through every repair and troubleshooting procedure. This manual contains all you need to know to keep your John Deere working right and is the only service repair manual you will need. It will help you understand, care for, and lower the repair and maintenance cost for your John Deere. Certainly less than two hours even taking your time. Installation on a 50 series tractor is quite a bit more complex, and involves drilling holes. Installation on a 70 series might be 8 hours. The manual doesn't even address it. It says instructions are included with the backhoe and to follow those. In all cases, once the parts are installed on the tractor the back hoe can be easily installed and removed. The 70 series uses latches, while the 50 and 55 use pins. I know this does not answer your question, but might provide some insight to their time estimate.I bought a 447 for my 3120 and had to have the mounting plates installed. You might go online and get the instructions for mounting the subframe. It may involve removing wheels, axle bolts and the like. I looked at the instructions for mine, and even though I probably could have done it, I let the pros handle it for time and safety. The instructions were easy to follow, and I'm sure with time and patience a determined DIYer can handle it. Ask your dealer what's involved. For what it is worth, you won't be sorry you invested in a BH. Have fun.I could not find it yet. Thanks, BillI bought it thinking I was going to get a backhoe for my 670.Installing the subframe is just wrench work, no special skills required. You may need to remove the rear wheels, but nothing too involved.http://www.jfvtransports.com/home/content/boss-bv7990t-manual Also this, not exactly what you need, but here's the instruction manual for a woods backhoe subframe. It shouldn't be more involved. But let me ask for a clarification. The subframe is part of the backhoe, but was the original question regarding the dealer installing the mounting kit. These are parts separate from the subframe and stay with the tractor when the backhoe is removed. The parts catalog does show several extra parts required for the 70 series tractors, including frame reinforcement pieces. But let me ask for a clarification. The parts catalog does show several extra parts required for the 70 series tractors, including frame reinforcement pieces. Even if it does take 8 hours it's still light weight work. I say do it yourself.Great price on that hoe, I'd jump on it and decide what do to later. You'll save money. I found this out when I bought the front screen brushguard for my 3320. I imagine the kit is still available. The 3005 is the same tractor as the 770. He's probally quoting you the price for a 3005 install. Please upgrade Internet Explorer to the latest version. Attachment came off a 650 with all mounting hardware. Backhoe has VERY low power. All cylinders move EXCEPT boom cylinder moves down only, will not raise boom. Also, when the backhoe hydraulics are connected, tractor hydraulics are also poor (can not raise loader bucket). When I disconnected the backhoe, all tractor hydraulics work fine. Does this sound like I hooked the backhoe hydraulics up wrong or does it sound like a blown seal somewhere.I'm not sure JD recommended that model for a backhoe. On a unit with a backhoe you want the hoe to get to oil first then the loader then the threepoint hitch. Where you teed in you are probabaly just running the oil through the other valves open center and dumping right back into the resevior. That's why you have to take the fluid from a power beyond port,so it isn't dumped right back into the resevior. I agree, small tractor for a backhoe though. However, I do not plan on using it for anything big. I do have 3 original hoses on the tractor. The second hose is a hose which goes from the loader valve (By-Pass port) back to the top port in the pump. I am not sure which hose is the power beyond hose. The backhoe return line I hooked into the reservior. How can I determine which is the power beyond hose? That top port should be under the seat which is a valve block which feeds into the three point hitch.Your backhoe should have a third port also. You could run from the loader first then to the hoe but you may get more restriction and the hoe will need all the GPM you can get. The third port I believe is hard plumbed for the 3-Pt hydraulics. Thanks for all your help. I will try and connect in where your suggested. I will try and get a copy of a schematic. I sent an e-mail to the previous owner and he had both lines from the backhoe hooked up to the value block under the seat. Nothing going to the reservior. There must have been a return somewhere because the backhoe has a lot of use (in fact worn out). I replaced most of the pins and sleeves already. I called JD and they had a picture of the connections, just as you described. Will hook it up tonight and see what I get. May have a seal problem but will find out once I hook it up correctly. Values can be rebuilt if required. But more important they may even have a copy of a service manual and you could photo copy some pages out of it.Definitly find out how it was intended to be hooked up as it does look like it was designed for your machine along with the newer models. Plenty of power. Valves seep oil. Have some new seals on-order which should fix problem. Thanks for all the help. My tractor is a 770, and the backhoe attachment connects in 3 spots, just above the PTO, and in the slots below the power beyond unit, also I have a locking slot that I am now having problems with because the bar keeps coming dislodged, and I can not think of any way to fix the problem besides welding it in place. How is your held on the tractor. My JD 7 back hoe attachment has only two hoses. We have the parts you need to repair your tractor - the right parts. It consists of three basic parts: the tractor, the loader and the bucket. The bucket does the digging and is located at the back of the tractor; the loader is attached to the front. John Deere Co. developed the first self-scouring steel plow in 1837 during the settlement and development of the Midwestern U.S. The current global company is made up of three major business sectors; farming equipment, construction machinery and credit financing. The John Deere 47 backhoe operates with the John Deere 4200-4400 and 4410 utility-tractor series. Digging Depth and Loading Height The maximum digging depth is 7 feet 7 inches with the boom pin 14 inches above ground. When the bucket is at 60 degrees, the loading height is 5 feet 8 inches. The weight of the backhoe is 1,013 lbs. Reach and Swing Arc The bucket of a backhoe is attached to a hinged arm that has two parts. The part of the arm closest to the tractor is called the boom. The end of the arm attached to the bucket is called the dipper. The arm can reach 114 inches from the center line of the swing pivot. Swing arc is 180 degrees. Bucket The backhoe itself is also known as the bucket and is capable of digging very hard compact material. Buckets for the backhoe are available in sizes from 9 to 36 inches. It can rotate 180 degrees. When the bucket is at 60 degrees, the loading reach of the backhoe is 43 inches. Transport and Stabilizers Backhoes have stabilizer legs located behind the rear wheels. The stabilizers take the burden of the weight while the backhoe is digging. They prevent strain on the wheels and keep the tractor steady. The spread width of the stabilizer when the backhoe is raised is 61 inches and 89 inches when it is lowered. The transport height is 69 inches. The transport overhang is 42 inches. Other Specs The backhoe has 27 horsepower. The relief valve is 2500 pounds per square inch. The bucket control mail relief valve is 2,250 psi. The backhoe has a 3-point hitch and a boom lift capacity of 540 pounds. The dump clearance is 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches with a full height discharge.
