As a helpful hint try this mixture to loosen rust nuts and bolts. 50 acetone and 50 transmission fluid in a small squeeze bottle. Shake it before application and apply to rust nut or bolts. Works great and saves lots of time. Found it in a machinist magazine years ago. Much better than anything on the market like liquid wrench. Bill Not good - my biggest fear would be the steel bearing surfaces - if they started to rust they'll disintegrate from the friction. How far apart are you taking the motor? There should have been some oil on those bearings so as offer some form of protection. It was fresh water that got it pretty good. I would say at least 2 feet of water got her. However rain gets these guys also at least the exposed bearing ie swing arm and such. I was also wondering does the cylinder have an iron liner. Or some form of ceramic coating. Most scooters usually need those replaced any ways along with fuel filter, sparkplug get a NGK brand and larger pilot and main jets.
