If both ropes fail while the platform is elevated, the emergency brake will activate automatically, locking the carriage to the mast. Single Rope Failure If one of the ropes fails while the platform is elevated, the other rope will allow safe descent. Upon failure of one of the ropes, immediately lower the platform.
