You're getting: an overdrive, a distortion, a clean booster, a treble booster, a clean buffer, a noise gate. It's probably the most complete guitar pedal you can get. Build quality is amazing and it seems it can survive an elephant stomping it. Be sure to check the internal switches as mine was configured with buffer for one side and true bypass for the other. The only thing I have to complain about is the overdrive defaulting through the distortion rather than the other way around if you don't use patch cables to switch that. It is possible, but the overdrive, for me, works better to boost the level of distortion rather than simply distorting a boosted signal. I could probably mess with the settings on this thing some more to find something better sounding (it has a lot of options). The distortion part of this pedal is awesome however. Exactly the sort of tone I was looking for. Can get a good Nevermore-ish sounding tone out of this thing. I'm playing this through a PRE SE and a Marshall DLS40 watt combo. Where this pedal shines is at high volumes and playing in a band context. The eq range is very useable, specially on the Hyde side. It can sound like a Marshall or Mesa depending on your settings. The Jekyll side is good for low gain where you'd want your clean tone to be heard. It just works. UTILIZATION This is where the pedal signs. The knobs are rock solid and the switches are bulletproof. It feels very soild all around. It's a big footprint but when you consider that you're getting two pedals in one, it's not really an issue. It's an easy pedal to figure out after some initial trickery. No manual required really. SOUND QUALITY The overdrive side is well.it sounds like a TS9. Which is great. The bass boost is a nice function if you have a trebly amp or guitar. If my review was based on this side of the pedal alone, it would likely get a solid 10. The distortion side however, is another story. I'm not sure what they were going for here. No matter how you dial the knobs it sounds pretty brittle and fake. I honestly couldn't get a great sound out of it. For the record, it doesn't sound terrible, but compared to other overdrives and distortions, it falls flat. OVERALL OPINION I don't think I'll be keeping this pedal because one side of it is pretty much unusable for me. I'll probably get that one. I want to stress again that the distortion side is not terrible, and many people might like it. The provided setting examples in the user's manual are very helpful (they also allow you to quickly understand the pedal limitations). SOUND QUALITY The overdrive is very good even though the mid boost is very obvious (much more than in a SD-1) so the effect isn't as honest regarding the frequency response. I have a problem with the distortion channel (Hyde) of this pedal. While the overdrive has an excellent quality, the distortion channel has no real character, it is ordinary and it even sounds bad with extreme settings. Considering the low quality of the distortion channel, the overdrive and distortion controls yield poor results especially because the distortion is placed before the overdrive in the signal path. So you end up with a distortion boosting an overdrive not an overdrive boosting a distortion. It's quite inventive but considering the result I yearn for a classic effect chain. Overdrive: 9 Distortion: 4 OVERALL OPINION I've been using this pedal for one year and I use the overdrive channel almost exclusively. I'm really disappointed about this pedal (which indeed has excellent reviews) because its distortion channel is nothing but average. Compared to my MXR Double Shot, the MXR provides two very good and really different distortion sounds. The price tag is quite high considering the weak distortion channel. The OD is a copy of TO808 but goes much further by providing a gain and bass boost to keep the body sound when the pedal is engaged. The distortion is classic but not the side that most nasal distortion pedal in transistors. 2 modes: that is ultra sharp (too) sharp and blunt, which is soft and creamy but still very defined. Adjustable noise gate built in-house. UTILIZATION The settings are clear and the manual provides basic settings for each of the two pedals and combinations. These are good bases to study because the settings are extremely sensitive and quite interactive. So the opportunities are enormous and it passes some time initially to set sounds, or both pedals simultaneously. Individually, they are very easy to adjust, but overall it's just a bit warmer. SOUND QUALITY The heart of the matter: it sounds, it's clear. The OD sounds Stevie Ray to death, it is all bluff. For me it is blunt in position, the position is sharp too aggressive for my personal taste. A really big sound quality. I stick to a little giant and now I record with this setup is excellent. Not too much volume, a large versatility, a sound that is clean no matter what happens because of the noise-gate. Happiness without deafening the neighborhood.No manual, but examples of rglages for all styles. ample. Note that the knobs are sensitive and trs prcis, each change having a significant impact on your exact sound. Therefore, take some time to find his rglages ftiches, but with an attentive ear, while having fun, this is achieved quickly. About knobs, and now I use it for some time, just a little BMOL: they are hyper sensitive. The overdrive (Jekyll) uses the JRC4558 op-amp used was the era in las TS808. The distortion (Hide) ranges from blues-rock to heavy metal through all intermdiaire.The stomp switch is sturdy and spacing allows you to activate the simultanment if desired. Note that it is possible for example to make a crunch sound with p't'tit Jekyll and one foot pressure switch is in either clean distortion. The principle is simply gnial and allows you to add 3 sound distortion on the amp. The trs rglages are effective and give good examples fournits based departure. Note that a power supply (not included) is welcome for all that precde consumes a lot of batteries. SOUND QUALITY The sound suits me perfectly. The active filter does not color the sound too. OVERALL OPINION I have for over a year now and I could not do without it, she does it all. Imagine a sound saturated crank the pedals and you. In 2010, it introduced the Overlapping Generations theory, which claims that the end will come before the death of everyone who was alive at the same time as anyone who was alive in 1914. Mark found these revised predictions difficult to accept. In late 2013, Mark had an extreme reaction to an antibiotic and was confined to his couch for several weeks, away from the meetings and Bible studies. Left alone with his thoughts, he began to admit to himself that he no longer believed Armageddon was imminent. The Jehovah’s Witnesses he knew were no more deserving of God’s mercy than the nonbelievers he’d met. And here he was, 45 years old and facing a health crisis. How much more of his life was he willing to waste inside the bubble. That November, as he and Kimmy were preparing to spend the weekend at a friend’s house, Mark suddenly stopped packing and told Kimmy he couldn’t maintain the facade anymore. Kimmy had grown up believing that overzealous Witnesses, not Watchtower, had chosen that date. But Mark, who rarely threw away anything, encouraged her to read the Watchtower articles exhorting members of the faith to sell their homes. Kimmy began to entertain the kind of doubts she’d been trained to ignore. “But I think the big trigger for her,” Mark said, “was when I mentioned Candace Conti.” Candace Conti, now 33, was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness in Fremont, California. When she was 9, the elders in her congregation paired her with a man named Jonathan Kendrick for Saturday-morning field service. Instead of going door-to-door to preach the word of God, Kendrick would take Conti to his house and molest her, she says. She estimates this went on for about two years. Years later, after Conti had left the Witnesses, she discovered Kendrick’s name on the federal sex-offender registry. When she went back to the elders in her former congregation to tell them about the abuse, she was rebuffed by something called the two-witness rule. Rooted in Deuteronomy 19:15—“No single witness may convict another for any error or any sin that he may commit”—the two-witness rule states that, barring a confession, no member of the organization can be officially accused of committing a sin without two credible eyewitnesses who are willing to corroborate the accusation. Critics say this rule has helped turn Witness communities into havens for child molesters, who rarely commit crimes in the presence of bystanders. The elders told Conti that without a second witness to the molestation, there was nothing they could do. (When reached for comment, Watchtower’s Office of Public Information said, “Our policies on child protection comply with the law, including any requirements for elders to report allegations of child abuse to authorities.” Watchtower declined to comment on specific cases out of respect for the privacy of all involved.) Conti asked the elders to consider a plan she had devised for tracking child molesters within the organization. When they refused, she sued Watchtower, her former congregation, and Kendrick. During depositions, the elders admitted that they’d long known Kendrick had a history of child molestation—they knew before they paired him with Conti for door-to-door ministry, and before they rejected her story about the abuse. Kendrick has always denied Conti’s allegations.) Others had come forward with accusations against Watchtower before, but Conti refused to take a settlement, and the trial, with its blockbuster monetary award, became a major news story. In the years since, Watchtower has faced dozens of similar lawsuits from victims who say the organization’s policies enabled and protected their abusers. When Campos assaulted Lopez in a La Jolla, California, home in 1986, the boy told his mother, who immediately reported Campos to the elders. They said they would handle the situation, and told her not to call the police.
