The LC-2 will support gasoline, ethanol, methanol, diesel fuel, propane, and CNG. Note that the minimum measurable AFR is 0.5 lambda, so the wideband may not be able to measure the extremely rich mixtures required for running methanol on a non-intercooled engine.http://coracconstrucciones.com/dleyes/admin/fotos/husqvarna-340-service-manual.xml What sensor is included. Circuits that share power with the vehicle’s stereo, ignition system, ECU, and fuel pump should not be used. When in doubt, create an additional circuit using an automotive relay available at most any automotive parts supplier. See the in the next section for a relay installation diagram. Page 5 2.2.1 3 Single Innovate Device Relay Wiring Instructions Sensor Placement Optimum bung placement will vary from application to application, but using the guideline below will ensure the longest sensor life with the most accurate readings. Using a bung is the preferred method for mounting the oxygen sensor in all applications. Weld the bung at least 24 inches downstream of the exhaust port outlet (after the collector), or 24 inches after the turbocharger if so equipped. Page 6 A 1” bung (provided in the kit) will best protect the sensor. When fully threaded, the sensor’s tip will sit flush with the exhaust pipe, this does not adversely effect the readings. The bung should always be welded before the Catalytic Converter. Welding the bung after the catalytic converter will skew the readings toward lean. The skew in readings will vary with engine load and the efficiency of the catalytic converter. Leaded fuel and two stroke applications will reduce the sensor’s life. Page 7 The calibration procedure requires that the oxygen sensor be in free air, this means removed from the exhaust system completely. 1. With the sensor disconnected, apply power to the LC-2. When power is applied, the status light will light up green for 2 seconds while the controller initializes. The status light will then turn red and flash a two blink sequence indicating an Error 2 condition. When I tried to plug the sensor cable into the controller, it bent one of the terminals into a non-recoverable position. The kit was ruined in about 2 minutes. I wrote to AutoMeter customer service, got an RMA, and sent the kit back. I asked them explicitly to check the replacement kit for connector fit before sending it to me. Several weeks later I had my second kit in hand, went to plug it in, and yet again the terminals failed. Obviously nobody had tried plugging in the connectors. This was really disappointing both from the product standpoint and from the customer service standpoint. I work with automotive grade connectors every day and can tell you these are CHEAP connectors with very poor quality. Both male and female terminals are extremely prone to misalignment with very little locational control - they can all wiggle around, which causes them to jam and bend when the connector is plugged in. Don't waste your time!I ran this on a 2013 Jeep JK to help get a custom tune for a supercharger installation. I did a temporary install and have since removed the device until the next time I want to play with the tune. I did have to add a cigarette lighter adapter to power it but I had one that I chopped off of some other non functioning device and it worked perfectly. You will also need a connector to pull the signal into your logging device. If you are using a Diablosport Trinity, like me then an angled 2.5mm audio cable adapter from digikey is perfect for the other end. Digikey product CA-2204. I docked it one star because the included bung did not also include a cap and it was not made of stainless like the exhaust. If you want a stainless bung and cap then that is a different product from Innovate.I've used the PLX, NGK, and now LC-2 product and this one is my favorite because it is so flexible. The control box is tiny (easily tucked away). And it's affordably priced, there is no reason to have a performance vehicle without a decent wideband again.I didn't want a gauge, so this is the best solution.Works with EcuFlash right out the box, although you'd need a laptop with either a serial port, or a USB-Serial adapter which is not included.I used it to replace my stock narrow band on 1995 993.Some pins appear to be multiple pins in one location. Regrettably I wasn't able to check the fit and finish soon enough and the 30-day return policy removed the possibility of return or replacement. Just SOL on this one. Don't let this happen to you.Well this failed within the first 15 min of use.the one thing you are never to do is run your car with no power to the o2 sensor.!!!they have it set up to turn off the o2 sensor when you get an error.it can be to close or far or to rich to fast so basically it kills the o2 sensor with any error.I sent this back bought an o2 sensor and I am happily running my aem. Google innovate e8 error code.I have 35 years of Automotive experience and I know how to install electronic devices properly so this is not an installer error.Google “Innovate LC2 errors” before you purchase. The PLX unit in my other car has been flawless, I will be ordering one of theirs. Just glad Amazon is great with returns.Sensor was dead on arrival. On the actual use side, serial connector is a bit old school, had to pull out an old and slow laptop to use it.Innovate was helpful in to narrow down the issue, but extremely dissapointed that they do not offer a warranty on the sensor, considering its half the cost of the product.I used to have an AEM version, and this one is a lot quicker to react. Just make sure you have your own gauge, as this doens't come with one. But there are dual outputs, where you can have 1 for the gauge, and then one for your computer. Each kit includes the gauge, an LC-2 wideband controller, oxygen sensor, bung, serial cable, and the award-winning LogWorks engine-tuning software. Best of all, the DB gauges include the powerful LogWorks software for synchronous high-speed logging of wideband data, other MTS sensors, and data from a growing list of “piggyback” fuel controllers and standalone or factory (OBD2) ECUs. This is the same software used by champion engine builders and racers. Disclaimer Designed by ZenByte Log in. Make sure all necessary tools, materials, and parts are on hand. Page 16 7 Tips, Tricks and Troubleshooting 7.1 General measurement requirements The LC-1 measures the air-fuel-ratio by measuring the amount of oxygen in the exhaust (for lean conditions) or the amount of unburned or partially burned fuel (for rich conditions). You should correct for the following in order to get optimum results from the LC-1 1) An exhaust leak will allow oxygen to enter the exhaust stream and therefore will measure leaner than the engine is actually running. Page 17 Under some rare circumstances it is possible that the heater calibration data in the LC-1 can become partially destroyed. This can manifest in the above-mentioned errors. If you encounter this error, restart the LC-1 and operate the sensor in free air. Page 18 It is possible to install the wide-band sensor in place of the OEM oxygen sensor. In this case the meter's analog output signal will replace the OEM oxygen sensor's signal to the fuel injection computer. EFI equipped cars typically incorporate a narrow band oxygen sensor. These sensors are typically 1, 2, 3 or 4 wire sensors. The analog output connector of the LC-1 can simulate the operation of a narrow band sensor while the wide-band oxygen sensor is installed in place of the OEM narrow-band sensor. Page 19 b. Vehicle has a 2-wire sensor: While the engine is off determine which of the 2 wires has a low resistance between the wire and the sensor body. This is the heater power for the sensor. Wire analog output 1 directly to the other wire. Leave the heater power wire unconnected but make sure it cannot ground itself or see above. c. Vehicle has a 3-wire sensor: Typically the 3 wires are: heater power, Ground, and sensor element connection. Generally they have 1 black wire and 2 white wires. The number of flashes indicates the error code as in 1 Flash 2 Flashes Error 1 Error 2 And so on. See Appendix C for error code details. Innovate makes the following warranty to purchasers of its products: All new Innovate products carry a six-month warranty from the date of purchase. If proof of purchase cannot be provided, warranty will be determined by date of manufacture. Do not touch the hot sensor. Do not let a hot sensor touch a combustible surface. Do not use the sensor with or near flammable liquids or gases. Failure to heed these warnings may result in severe burns, explosions or fires. When installed in the exhaust, the oxygen sensor MUST be connected and operating with the LC-1 whenever the car is running.0 out of 5 stars Installed away from ignition components with a ferrite block to eliminate possibility of noise interference. Ran for less than two weeks. Sensor failed, dreaded e8 code with wonky readings everywhere. Total time at that range is less than 100 seconds. I checked the logs. What's the point of a wideband that can't be used as a wideband. What in the world would a boosted car owner do, where the car has to run rich for proper operation. Rest of the time car is in closed loop with narrowband regulation running at stoich. WOT pulls running at the proper 12.5:1 just until top of rpm range. Two weeks and a failed sensor that never saw shock, thermal or physical, installed and operated exactly as per the manufacturer's instructions is a bad sensor or bad regulating firmware. Do not trust in the warranty. Ordered a new sensor out of pocket in hopes I just got a bad sensor. If this one fails, it's all getting ripped out and going to eBay.It will lose calibration and display an E8 error code shortly thereafter. I am unable to update the firmware or access the serial data for logging as it appears the head unit is defective. I attached an older MTX-L from another vehicle to the same cabling and O2 sensor as this unit and the older unit functioned flawlessly for three days of use. Web search shows this as a common problem with these units. I will never purchase another Innovate product again, as their tech support found every excuse to not admit it is a defective product.Never again. Quality control is poor.Setup with my Miata and a speeduino EFI, it's important to note that this product has no analog signal from the sensor, if you plan to connect this to the ECU, the signal comes from the Gauge. This would be cool, but my little miata didn't have enough power and the gauge was rebooting during crank. Added a voltage stabilizer to resolve that issue and its all good now. Then got dreaded E8 sensor (sensor defective). I will be returning and purchasing an AEM. Sad and poor excuse for a supposedly quality part and company.Fit as far down the pipe as possible (before cat), especially if fitting a turbo. Allow the sensor to preheat before starting or warm up the exhaust before turning the unit on. This will extend the life of the sensorFind another brand wideband The tune is not rich nor lean to burn up a sensor especially in only 2 months. I'm hoping it's only a sensor that is bad but still shouldn't have to pay 60.00 for a new sensor already. Not to happy about this and should be offered a replacement sensor af I have logs showing the tune was on point. I have had nothing but issues with this wideband from day 1. I've gone thru 4 sensors since purchase and I hardly ever drive the vehicle. Gotta always reset the sensor and Calibrate. Gets very annoying. Probably will go with AEM next time.
