I was able to do some good troubleshooting with it. However, when my wife got a 2018 equinox, it did not work at all. I can deal with the tool becoming obsolete, but the bad taste I got from customer service will prevent me from buying another Innova tool. I emailed them and said the tool would not connect, is it compatable. I called and was read pretty much the same response. Its a very vague, dodging answer. It appears that is the company line on questions like this. If I can't trust them to tell me the the truth about a unit I already own, I can not trust them at all going forward.I bought this Innova 3160d code reader because it purports to read the ABS and SRS codes for a lot of vehicles, Chrysler being one of them. In fact, this vehicle doesn't have front crash zone sensors. Searching online revealed that I am not the only one to get bogus codes from this scanner. I ran across several threads that gave the same symptoms and used this same scanner and got the same reading. In their cases they also said that the Chrysler techs told them it was an invalid code and description. I only checked on Chrysler SRS codes but would bet that the issue would be similar for any manufacturer's SRS codes. When I called the Innova folks about this issue they had no explanation but took my info and said they would find a similar vehicle and test it to see what the product development folks needed to do to get the correct reading and interpretation. I asked when I might hear back from them and they said they wouldn't be calling back, had no idea when they would get to it, and suggested that I just keep an eye out for a product update that fixes the problem. I guess I wasn't really surprised at this but I'm still disappointed in the failure of the scanner to do something that they had specifically stated that it would do. Then buy a much less expensive scanner to read OBD II codes yourself. It's not like it was ever mistreated or over used, used it three times in the space of a year and a half. Kept it warm dry and safely tucked away in my desk drawer with the batteries out. There is absolutely no excuse for this. Now they want X amount of dollars to repair it but for that X amount I can buy one from another manufacturer. Last Innova product I'll ever buy. If like me you want to get a good one for when you need it steer clear this is not the one! It's not the full function tablet that I used when I worked for a dealer but costs a pittance compared to a factory required tool. I use it on my sleds and other family heaps to pull codes then go to the internet for further model specific information ( forums and YouTube ) for the generic codes. Yes there are few instructions included but I had a few years of OBD exposure so that wasn't a big issue. The scanner is good enough for what I need it for. I have 1 old beast with OBD 1 but a jumper wire and a sheet listing the flash codes works just ducky. So far the SRS and ABS functions have worked giving me generic codes on both the foreign and domestic nothing too fancy cars I have been intimately acquainted with.I use a scan tool for my own vehicles and for family and friends several times a year. I received the 3160b as listed in the specs, not the 3160d as shown in the photo as some reviewers have received. The difference between the b and the d appears to be the keypad. The b has a keypad like the 3130c. The keypad on the d looks like an improvement- easier to operate. The 3130 worked well and paid for itself many times over but I wanted a scan tool that would show ABS codes etc. I briefly checked out the new 3160b yesterday and I was impressed. First- the keypad is easier to use than the 3130. Next, I like the graph display (live data) of the sensors fluctuating values. Note: O2 sensors values fluctuate rapidly. This 3160b appears to be a significant improvement over the 3130. I'm glad I made the purchase even though I already have a scan tool. I highly recommend this tool over the lower priced versions.
