It gives more reliable performance for high-voltage higher powered servos.Think about it for a second - why would we take the time to help out, when there isn't anything in it for us. Trust me, you don't want to see what a 625mm Carbon Fiber BLADE can do at 200mph. There's a reason we call them blades, and they really do move at 200mph or more - when they release from the head, due to conservation of momentum, a helicopter blade can become a 300mph missile. Consider this: People don't step in planes and fly them without an instructor because there are laws against it. The only reason people are flying hobby-grade models without instruction (Or at least trying to) is because there are no laws against it. And just because there are no laws against it, doesn't mean it isn't a completely idiotic idea. Your best bet is to stop being an ignorant fool, and get a coaxial heli and a flight sim. Read some of the stuff: It's not different for the sizes, except that you are using a separate power supply for the receiver. On smaller electrics, we don't do that - we hook up some kind of a BEC to the main battery and use that to power the receiver. BTW, when I say power the receiver, I mean everything - everything gets its power from there, except the motor. If you use it the way it was intended, it eliminates the need for a separate battery for the receiver, allowing the receiver to be powered from the motor battery (which is typically a much higher voltage). Radios are simple devices - they send out a series of numbers, period - don't ever make the mistake of thinking it does anything more than that. People attribute magic to radios and completely lose track of this fact and it makes it hard to understand. For helicopters, there is a complicated calculation that develops those numbers based on your stick positions. In the case of the Trex (all of them) we use the 120-degree 3-servo swash program - you will need to set this up on your 11X and set the 3 servos reversing, and the three channels of swash plate mixing. However, you need to do the mechanical stuff first. You need to learn how to center the servos, center the mixing arms, zero the blade pitch, and so on. However, I think it's important to make the monetary investment as well. I think it's worth it to invest a little more to ensure that your investment holds its value. So I suggest picking up a quality simulator, such a Phoenix or RealFlight, and I strongly suggest building a smaller 450 size cheapo heli to practice your building, setup, and flying skills with. The little helis are super fun to fly too - I just got a new one myself, just because I really enjoy flying the 450 size, and they are convenient too - I can't take a 600 to a park or fly it in the warehouse at work, but I can fly the 450 just about anywhere.Align 60a ESC. If you want 6s, just buy an old version 600 for cheap. When 6s was the norm, it made sense. Now with HV ESC's, the tide has turned. Higher volts, lower amps, batteries have an easier life. That's harder on battery packs than 12s. On full collective pitch pumps and tic-tocs, my castle only peaks at around 100 or amps with my 12s 600EFL.
