From the United StatesAlso smaller then the new printers. Please try again later. Please try again later. Philip A.Cohen 1.0 out of 5 stars The unit bit the dust after printing 12 pages. The 3054A gave phony messages about a (non-existent) paper jam. After following HP's online troubleshooting hints and verifying that there was no paper jam, I reset the unit. I was able to print one more page before the unit failed again. Forget about trying to contact Hewlett-Packard via their website. HP's executives were very short-sighted in having their overseas supplier build a shoddy plastic piece of junk. I would give the Hewlett-Packard 3054A ZERO STARS.if that were possible. Please try again later. Please try again later. C. Henry 1.0 out of 5 stars I managed to print out from it about twice, a single sheet each time. Third time, I was told it had a paper jam when it did not. I can't get it to stop telling me it has a paper jam. The paper bail or whatever you call the part that holds the paper, make the paper go in on an angle--so the darn thing is really worthless. I called HP and did everything they advised--no luck. And of course Apple doesn't service the thing, only encourage you to buy it. So, I'm getting rid of this one and finding something of good quality--SOMEwhere. All printers now seem to be on the same business model as men's razors--you get the basic unit for very cheap, and the replacements, in this case, ink, are expensive and run out quickly. With razors, the replacements cost an arm and a leg. Anyway, if I were you I'd give this a miss. Please try again later. Please try again later. Cathy Top Contributor: Pets 1.0 out of 5 stars Surely it's not too much to ask of a printer that you buy specifically for its wireless, printing, scanning, and copying abilities, to be able to communicate with your computer over a wireless network, print, scan, and copy. Apparently, HP believes this to be the case. After endless reinstalls, emails to tech support, and general diddling around, I got it to print. Sometimes. Scanning works, but only if you want a collection of tiny web clips rather than a document resembling the item that you scanned. But the wireless story was the best part. I discovered that the only way to get this thing to work wirelessly was to delete the printer, reinstall the software, and then use the printer's own wireless network to print. Which works once. The next time you go to print, you have to repeat that entire sequence. Since I don't print very often, I simply ignored the wireless feature and used the USB cable, which in my small apartment has been truly annoying. Then I had to buy a new set of ink cartridges, after printing maybe 50 pages AT MOST, for a price that comes out to slightly less than a dollar a page!! Just outrageous. I finally broke down and ordered myself an actual printer, i.e. not an HP. Do yourself a favor and do the same. Please try again later. Please try again later. J. McCarthy 2.0 out of 5 stars It goes through ink super fast and the cartridges are not cheap. I do like that the color and black cartridges are separate. I find myself wishing that it breaks so I have to replace it, but it hasn't taken a dump yet so I'll give it an extra star for that. Please try again later. Please try again later. C. Brown 1.0 out of 5 stars It took me long enough to install a driver for OS Lion that even connected to the computer, and it just plain does not like to work on its wireless settings. It shows that is connected but just doesn't actually communicate with it. The color copy comes out with lines and extremely high contrast, blown colors, and blur. My older HP all in one from about 5 years ago works better than this. Absolutely 100 disappointed. Please try again later. Please try again later. Irving Warner 2.0 out of 5 stars But when that problem is over, it uses ink fast, and has low copy capacity for the very exorbitant HP cartridges. Clearly the HP low purchase price was made with an ambitious view for lucrative post-purchase profits from HP cartridge sales. I'd avoid this one--wish I had. Please try again later. Please try again later. George B. 2.0 out of 5 stars I had a little trouble getting the wireless to work properly after I upgraded to Lion shortly after purchasing the computer but after I downloaded the appropriate driver it has worked OK including the wireless. The print quality is acceptable including a few photos on photo stock. My big beef with it and the reason I am going to either get rid of it altogether or relegate it to very infrequent use is that it goes through ink like crazy. I have only had it approximately 6 months and today I am replacing both cartridges for the third time (at the steep price of 61.99 each time!) - and we don't use it all that much, just normal personal use. I finally did figure out how to set the print quality down for routine things which should help cut down some on the ink usage, but the quality is quite low on that setting, so for a lot of things I would still need to continue to feed its voracious ink appetite. Also, you cannot set the print quality on the printer itself, only from the computer. In the end, I have decided that I am going to have to go a different direction and will be checking reviews for a much more ink-efficient printer so I do not break my family's budget buying ink for this hog. Please try again later. Please try again later. alex 1.0 out of 5 stars Otherwise you have to PAY for tech support via phone or online chat. It is supposed to be simple and straightforward, but by doing this, they make it extremely difficult to find the options to reset things. Hours of my life spent on this ridiculous device with no results. Please try again later. Please try again later. G. Scheck 1.0 out of 5 stars Like other reviewers, I was encouraged to buy this printer when I was buying a new Mac. But even free, it's overpriced. The wheel that pulls the paper down into the printer seems to grab at only one side of the sheet, so it never, ever works. Bottom line: this printer is a source of marital and familial discord, and I want it out of my house. HP, your good name is spoiled as far as I'm concerned! Please try again later. The printer also supports HP Auto Wireless Connect feature using which you can connect the printer to devices without the use of wires or network authentications. Install the latest printer driver after downloading it on your computer, and do the displayed prompts on the installer to finish the setup. Select a connection type when the installer is prompted, and select the “Yes, send my wireless settings to the printer” option. HP Wireless Setup Wizard can also be used for connecting the wireless network to a printer. Your network’s name and the security password (WEP or WPA) has to be noted. On the HP DeskJet 3050 control panel of the printer, open the Network menu and select Wireless. On the control panel, a list of wireless networks will be displayed. You need to select the name of your network from the list. The wireless network will now be connected to the printer. Another method to try is the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) method. The method, in turn, can be carried out by the PIN method and WPS Push button. The WPS Push Button method needs a router that features a WPS button. On your printer, click the WPS button. Wait for some time and on your router, press the WPS button. The printer will connect to the wireless network. To perform the PIN method, press the Wireless button and choose the Start Copy Black button on the control panel. Enter the WPS PIN in the configuration utility or software for the wireless router. Wait while the network is getting connected to the printer. If you need clarifications on how to connect hp Deskjet 3050 to wifi, you can refer to the user manual which is available on our website.
