System LED State Meaning Power The switch is receiving power. (green) The switch is NOT receiving power. Fault The switch has a hardware failure, or has failed (orange) It comes with rubber feet that can be attached so the switch can be securely located on a horizontal surface. Connect the Switch to a Power Source 1. Plug the includ ed AC p ower adap ter in to the switch’ s power connec tor and into a ne arby AC pow er source. If t he power adapt er pa rt nu mber 5188-67 00 is used; first pl ug the count ry specif ic power c ord in to the adap ter, and then into the AC po wer source. 2. Re -check t he LEDs during self test. Se e “Self T e st LED Beha vior:” on pa ge 2- 7. Not e Make su re the air fl ow is not rest ricted aroun d the si des of the switch. T o disconn ec t: Press the sma ll tab on the plug and pu ll the plug out of the jack.For init ial confi guration, yo u may want to assi gn an IP addre ss to the sw itch that is compa tible with your existing network. If the PC a nd swit ch are a lre ady on th e same subnet, pro ceed directl y to step 4. Oth erwise, you must manu ally set th e PC’ s IP On the IP Address pag e, enter the IP ad dress, Subnet Mask an d Gateway IP Address fo r the sw itch, then clic k on th e APPL Y button. No othe r confi gurat ion ch anges are req uired at thi s stag e, but it is recomm ended t hat you config ure an administ rator pa ssword b efore logging out.
