I have a bad bearing (probably one of the 4 transfer bearings from what I've been told) and as of right now refuse to drive my car because of it. How hard would it be to rebuild my transmission with an upgraded gear set. I don't have any experience with transmissions however I am a manufacturing engineer and could easily figure out simple prints to assemble a new gearset into my case. Are there any special tools I would need or any special skills that would help? I had the dealer rebuild it and yes it cost a lot, but now it's a warrantied, updated 5-speed in a car with a modified engine. It you think you can tackle it in your garage then more kudos to you. I just didn't have the time and resources when I ruined mine to learn. Good luck. Seth I highly suggest looking into these options and weight that against a DIY rebuild. DIY rebuild is not impossible but perhaps impractical for most. This coming from someone who is degree'ed in both, has built multiple Honda transmissions, but chose not to rebuild the trans for my WRX. Just saying. It's just that some throw that factoid around like they expect people to swing from their nuts for having some fancy piece o' paper. Its been running strong in my car for 116,000 miles and only failed from a bad bearing. I only push 225 AWHP and outside of a DD it sees some spirited driving and eventually AutoX. I don't see how I can't just go with a WRX transmission again. I am actually still in school finishing the degree and work full time at a local machine shop as an engineer. If only I could make my own gears on our CNCs You don't even have to drop the transmission out of the car. I would strongly recommend that you get a good diagnosis for the issue, and if it is a transfer bearing, just have it replaced. Subaru transmissions are very tricky to re-build. If you don't have experience doing it, I would recommend against trying yourself. There are special tools that are needed, and there are a lot of small details and tricks to assembly to get it to work correctly. Good luck with your re-build. Well worth it considering who is doing the work. Subaru trans are NOT a DIY prospect as I've seen tale after tale of experienced people post here that they exploded their gearbox and damn damn few successful shadetree mechanics post success stories. My car is a DD with spirited driving on the side and eventually some lite AutoX. It pushes roughly 225 AWHP and that is the extent of the power I want. From what I'm seeing is all the people telling me the transmissions explode have over 300 AWHP. The transmission did just fine in my car for the last 116,000 and given I fix this it should be able to run another 116,000 miles. Right now I am taking a look at just replacing the transfer bearings in the rear bell housing. And if not I'll truly consider Rallyspec gears. South EastSouth EastBearings wear out. Especially the xfer bearings. Your trans isn't destroyed - it just needs routine service..assuming this IS your issue.http://neupharma.com/uploads/field-training-officer-program-manual.xmlSouth EastHowever, pulling the races for the bearings and pressing in new ones takes special tools. You could do the majority of the work with removal in installation, and have a shop help with this. South EastYou could do the majority of the work with removal in installation, and have a shop help with this. Doesn't matter. A vice is a nice addition so it all stays still. I've done countless bearings this way. The inner race is hardened steel. Your dead blow won't dent it in 1000 swings. Just playing the waiting game. Subaru Gearbox stocks a vast array of Subaru differential replacement parts, new and used. We have removed the hard work of sourcing parts individually that may or may not fit. Our DIY repair kit range is large with over 100 different auto repair kits available depending on the job at hand and the model specifics of your Subaru. These are linked to our On-line Subaru shop for direct purchase. Even though I had to ship the car interstate to have the work done, the car was in the best hands. When I received the car back - it was transformed - it performs beautifully, gear shift is better than when I bought the car new. It is a better vehicle in all ways than when I picked it up off the showroom floor. Thanks Gab for all the work on the performance side. The work done was done in a professional manner, no shortcuts were taken, presentation of the vehicle where the work was done was impeccable. Thanks ADS for getting my Liberty back on the road - and more fun than any other car I've owned! I have been using All Drive Subaroo for the last 4 years now for various parts for my 05 wrx and have always found them to be helpful and professional. I live in Melbourne so finding a company out of state who is trustworthy and is good at what they do was important to me and they have never let me down. My latest purchase of a new engine was made less stressful knowing I was being well looked after. Every email was responded to quickly and all my questions answered also. I Would like to take this time to say a big thank you to. Isaac, who I think I sent 100 emails too lol thanks so much for being patient with me. And to the rest of the team thank you also. The new engine feels fantastic and I look forward too many years of fun with it.http://www.gongoff.com/images/bridge-manual-nysdot.pdf I can highly recommend them for your next Subaru part or service. Regards Brien T Upon having to pull over to the side of road due to engine acting up and not knowing the problem whilst waiting for a tow truck. Gab pulled over to offer his help, I was surprised by his kindness to offer on helping. After diagnosising the problem and temporarily fixing it, I was very appreciative of his dedication to help others in need and expertise. Again, thank you for your help tonight Gab. Would recommend All Drive Subaroo roo for all other fellow subie owners! They performed a thorough check, went over every bolt and working function to give me the honest run down along with a minor service. Customer service and professionalism is impeccable and pricing is reasonable. Highly recommend taking your Subaru here if you want to honestly look after it. Very competitive pricing and excellent workshop. The team here were honest and professional and didn't take advantage of my situation. 100 recommend ADS:) These guys do all things Subaru and Niazi, Isaac, Gab and the rest of the team are always professional and extremely easy to deal with. For all things Subaru call ADS now and give your pride and joy the treatment it deserves!! What more could you ask for? I'm looking for more advice having just bought a 2.5 '04 wagon 5spd with low range, as a replacement for the sedan whose nose was broken, whacked by a young girl texting and driving her Mazda. I'll eventually give All Drive Subaroo some money for their services, gladly. Five stars ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? Their customer service and professionalism is second to none. They even steam cleaned my engine bay. I will never go back to a dealership againThey know the product. Amazing The most professional, trustworthy Subaru specialist and great bunch of blokes ever. From major and minor services using the best of the best parts and equipment with the cleanest and nicest workshop I’ve ever been to, to specialist builds and projects.https://www.marthatrotts.ca/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1628773d36c45a---caja-manual-pilotada-peugeot.pdf They’ve even gone out of their way to accomodate me at the busiest times, plus the most amazing hospitality. Very rare for a workshop these days.I’ve had issues with this before and thought my Sunday Track Day was over unless I could find someone to fix it on a Saturday?? All Drive Subaru was open so limped the car out there where Isaac had a look over it for me. After diagnosing what could be wrong he systematically looked at about 3-4 issues which was causing the car to do this which he explained to me as he went through them. This took 2.5hrs which was 2.5hrs after he was meant to finish his shift and leave but stayed because he wanted to find the solution to get my car running so I could get to the Track Day on Sunday. Needless to say after 2.5hrs of not rushing but fixing the problem and any associated problems which could have arisen on my Trackday the car ran perfectly. I didn’t want to leave without paying for there service but they insisted.(I had never been there before). I’m actually blown away by a business that provides this type of customer service that is so genuine, honest and passionate. These guys are next level in knowledge, quality and honesty as a business and Subaru’s. I’m definitely a convert and will be using these guys for all my existing and future needs as I develop my STI. Pricing was very competitive too. Well worth the dollars spent. 10 deserts here I come Exceptional worksmanship and communication during the process. Looking forward to future endeavours together. Customer service n assistance is far beyond my expectations. As a pensioner its full value for money. Management n staff are friendly helpful n at times funny its like family thank you so much I ordered a reconditioned gearbox for my daughter's 2008 Forester and collected it last Friday.BAIDUVPN.COM/upload/files/canon-hv10-manual-pdf From Niazi (the owner) to Rob, Chris, Adam, Ruben and the young guy in the workshop who cleaned up the parts that I needed to keep (who's name I didn't get), there was their obvious experience and knowledge of all things Subaru, plus their professionalism, helpfulness and, importantly, respect for this old guy trying to get my daughter's car back on the road. I'll be recommending them to anyone I can. If you want something done right on your Subaru, this is the place you want to take it! Such a great team there who really love their Subarus and show that same love to their customers cars. They always spare the time to ensure you get exactly what you want.or better than you thought possible! Staff were very polite and friendly. Thanks guys. Your boys done well today and Wakefield. Both Niazi, Isaac and the staff are extremely professional with constant communication along the way both by emails and phone calls. I can highly recommend All Drive Subaroo. Since this was the 1st time I used their services i was cautious at the start, but as time went on you could see that they put the interest of the customer 1st, thanks again for the work you did on my car. Graham Now that is what I call service and why I send my car there Will be back soon to get more upgrades and do my services. Would go back again in a heartbeat. Cheers Guys!! It was Hard to start.I wanted my car back on the road ASAP and didnt think i had a chance on a saturday. Anyways, Subaru wasn't open. I called up All Drive Subaroo the next day; Saturday morning, i got my car towed there and they were able to diagnose and fix the problem That Day. I was so impressed and the team are friendly, happy to have a chat and really knowledgeable, they had a great vibe and highly recommend All Drive Subaroo All Drive Subaroo over MRTThey told me it would be a two week turn-around due to the public holiday and waiting for a part to arrive the week after I got the call that it was all done and ready to go.https://www.orhancoskun.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1628773e3094fa---Cajun-boat-manual.pdf Isaac and the team were very helpfull and and answered my dozens of questions quickly and precisely, they helped me out where ever they could and if I could give any more than 5 stars I would ? So i started ringing around for a better price. I spoke to rob from all drive subaroo. He asked me what trouble i had, once i explained it to him he gave me a solution that solved my issue. It turns out all that needed to be done was adjust a belt. So no rebuild required. I can say i was very happy with the result and it only took me 15 mins to do. These guys at all drive subaroo if anything like Rob are lifesavers and great people its great to know there are still people out there willing to help someone out and do it for nothing. They could have said the same as the mob in hervey bay but they were honest. Once again guys thank u very much. Your help was invaluable. Keep up the great work guys there should be more trades people like yourselves. Kudos to u. Thunbs up;-) Very kind people ?? I was comtemplating doing this work on my car for a very long time and did countless hours of research into what was involved and how much it would cost. I was very impressed with the amout of knowledge he had and realised how much more affordable the build would be with them. After that call I was 100 confident in them doing the build. It included a fully built closed deck block with reconditioned heads, full 6 speed conversion including diffs and modified tailshaft, all supporting mods including top feed fuel conversion, surge tank set up and just way too much to list. They kept me updated throughout the entire process and always rang me first if there was anything they needed to change or add to the build with detailed reasons why.The car is an absolute response monster with 340kw atw and 1293nm of torque. Overall so happy and would not hesitate to recommend All Drive Subaroo to everyone who wants work done on their Subaru from basic to massive hp builds.https://festivaldeliteraturadepereira.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1628773e801adc---cajun-injector-electric-smoker-instruction-manual.pdf Niazi did the initial quotation and Isaac took it from there. Service was amazing and I was always kept well informed. They did a great job with a quick turnaround and it was all hassle free. I did my back the day I was to pick up the car and they even helped with a heat pack for that! It's been a few months now and the Forester is running better than ever. I've had a few questions here and there in the past few months and Isaac has always been more than willing to assist, even gave up some of his time in Melbourne to meet up and run through a few queries. I highly recommend All Drive Subaroo! Isaac couldnt have been more helpfull and honest and upfront with his diagnosis and gave me a few options to try with the fuel system prior to me bringing it back for further analysis. Their knowledge of Subaru's is excellent and you can tell the staff are all into their Subys and passionate about them. Totally 5 star service and 100 Trustworthy !! Pushed 330kw and never missed a beat. Now that i have upgraded to an entire 6 speed conversion, i wanted to thank you boys for the years of reliability Picked it up today to it being freshly detailed and running like a dream. Awesome work with awesome customer service with realistic prices! They're genuine and so quick to help. Top blokes. Plus the quality of the work on the back of that is absolute tops. Definitely would recommend. I was informed about everything and kept in the loop. This is now the only workshop that will touch my car. Thanks again Chris. Very happy customer. Great price. Great quality. Great knowledge I had a need to replace the engine in my 2009 Subaru Forester XT after it was destroyed in a freak accident. The replacement engine performs perfectly and I'm very, very satisfied with the engine that was supplied as the replacement. Quality and workmanship is a key to any successful business and in the case of 'All Drive Subaroo' there is no question of this being the case.BAHETH24AQARI.COM/ckfinder/userfiles/files/canon-hv10-instruction-manual.pdf As a retired Qantas Engineer with 42 years of service I have got to know what is good and bad with a company and believe me your company is ten out of ten. Well done. Pleasure to do business with and will continue to in the future. The hard work they've done is indescribable, there's no words to describe how I feel or to describe the out of this world job they have done on my 2002 bug eye wrx, they have spent about 2 months and a half in restoring it back to life. It is now pretty much as close to an undercover STi hitting about 217kws, it is unbelievable. The work, time and effort they have put in is immaculate and pure perfection, it is running smoothly and beastly, it sounds and drives like a dream. I recommend these guys to absolutely anyone and everyone. Their work is 5 star and their products are also 5 star, the nicest and helpful bunch of people you can ever find and they also share the same passion you do for your car. I'll definitely be going back there from now on. Ps. Special thanks to Niazi and Isaac !! I appreciate all your help !! Very happy with the service I received. Was kept up to date every step of the way, big thank you to everyone you guys are awesome! With after great service and advice Clear communication and friendly staff. One stop shop. Very Happy with their high quality work. One stop shop. Very Happy. ? Just saying. Gabriele has always taken the time to hear out minor issues and problems, quote realistic prices and knows these machines like the back of his hand. The expertise and knowledge base makes them a better source of information than internet websites, and seeing they manufacture gearboxes and engines, you know they can deliver the complete package for your needs. Keep up the good work guys! Would recommend them for their friendly helpful service They helped me figure out the best solution suited to my budget and always were there to answer or dicuss any different options. The car is now completely transformed and a whole new beast. Shout out to Gabriel for all his quality work ?? Knowledgeable team. Quality work! He identified and showed me some potential problems which he explained in a none technical language. It's been 3 months since our car has been serviced and it has not given us any problems. Thank you Ruben and Alldrive Subaru. Service is next to none, quick and efficent. These guys know there stuff in and out. A special thanks to Mark who goes above and beyond wouldnt take my car anywhere else! These guys know what their doing unlike the CRAPO dealer that's charge for anything and everything. Keep up the good work guys. Since I'm a chick I have been tricked into paying for stuff that I didn't need at other garages. The mechanics here are ALL very honest and I definitely go out of my way to get my car looked after by these guys. I 100 recommend these guys to everyone and anyone. Well done guys for solving out my problem. 5 stars The car was picked up the next morning by a tow truck niazi organised and the work was completed fast and professional they also completed a full service of the car including 100 point check. I have not had service like this anywhere else and am glad i chose all drive subaroo if you have any work to be done dont look past Ads. Big relief to have it back and running perfectly with a simple oil change. For all your Subaru needs highly recommend these guys. Very professional team.:-) One stop shop for all Subaru needs. I've been involved with the company for 15 years and never met a more dedicated, knowledgeable group of auto techs. Just wish they'd work on SAABs. I had a turbo replacement and major service on my 2010 Forester and very happy with the result. Know their stuff very well and will hopefully have my car back late this week. Best service so far, can only get better from here. Cant wait to get my car back. Thanks guys! Thanks all drive Their communication throughout the process was fantastic, with multiple phone conversations about works to be done, written itemized quotes and photos of parts to be replaced. I had to visit them again today (a few months after the service) for what I thought was a follow up issue, turns out it was an easy fix and the guys were more than happy to spend part of their Saturday morning helping me out, assuaging my concerns over my pride and joy. Would 100 recommend them and will definitely be visiting them again. They were willing to spend time discussing the issue with my car over the phone, as well as talking me through the service process. I did not feel pressured into making a booking and the call wasn’t rushed as they are typically. After arriving at ADS, I didn’t have to wait long before I was in the car diagnosing the issue with the Director, who was friendly, completely down to earth and had a genuine interest in my car. I was highly impressed with how quickly and accurately the issue was identified (almost immediately upon demonstration). The car had been taken to a Subaru dealer who wasn’t able to resolve this very same issue. From that statement I knew that the director takes pride in his work and that my car had been in good hands. It was a pleasure meeting the Staff and I have no hesitation in highly recommending this business to my family, friends and the broader Subaru community. I have no affiliation with All Drive Subaroo, I made a booking based on Google reviews and wanted to share my experience. I went to visit them this week to change the timing belt of my Subaru outback 2001. But by checking the car thoroughly they noticed that many things were going bad with the car (especially a oil leak). They called me and told me that to fix the car it would cost more than what I actually paid for the car so they advised me not to spent money on it as it will require more and more money to be injected within the next few months which is not worth it. I really appreciate that kind of honesty as a normal (and greedy) mechanics would have told me to fix it. Take home message: GO for THEM.Highly recommended! Their level of customer service and knowledge is unmatched by any other specialist I've previously used and they charge exactly what they're worth. Keep up the excellent work guys! Always willing to take the time to ensure you get what you need. If you're onto a good thing you stick with it and ADS is in my opinion the best so my Subaru will never be taken anywhere else. Great people to deal with. Engine issues were resolved in short amount of time. I won’t let anyone else take care of my car. Highly recommended. Finally mechanics that care about your motor vehicles. Can’t recommend them enough. It makes me want to service my car on a more regular basis. No headaches with them. Keep up the great work team. Looking forward to my next service. Great pricing on their spare parts also. They even repaired my sister in laws car tyre for free on the spot after I got a puncture borrowing it to come pickup the parts from them. I will defiantly be using All Drive Subaroo for all future services and NOT my local Subaru dealer. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.
